Very comfortable place to stay at an idea location for seeing the fall foliage in Maine. We also appreciate the very welcoming accommodations for our dog! In addition, Andrea, the host, provided great communications throughout our reservation process and stay. Thanks!
Beautiful, comfortable and clean home in a peaceful, waterfront location. Excellent host - great communication from beginning to end. Highly recommend!
My friend and our families had an absolutely wonderful stay at Heav'nsent. This beautiful, comfortable family home had everything we needed and then some. Our indoors-loving, screen-adept kids were drawn outside immediately and spent the week soaking up as much dock and lake time as they possibly could.Tip: Even though our vacation took us around Maine a little, we ended up enjoying the time we spent kayaking and swimming in the lake and exploring closer to home a little. (Moose Creek State Park and the local restaurants were hits!)
We've stayed on Swan Lake for over 10 years and this home and location can't be beat! The host was responsive and the house was well equipped with anything you may need. Excellent views on the quaintest street on the lake!

Thank you for the kind words. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay.
We couldn't have asked for a more perfect spot for a long weekend to rest and relax. The house had everything we needed. Everyday was a treat seeing (and hearing) loons, and even a couple of bald eagles. We will certainly return.
We celebrated the 80th birthday of a family member and couldn’t have picked a better place to bring the family together. The home is very comfortable and you can’t beat the setting! We will definitely be back!
Great stay, clean, safe, dog friendly, great location, easy to get everywhere on day trips. Yet just outside of dealing with the crowds. The views of Swan lake are amazing. All you need at the house. The Darby had best lobster rolls also the Hoot restaurant a must go. Would stay again
This was my second time staying here. This time with my husband and last year with some friends. I cannot say enough positive things about this place! Location is to die for!! Beautiful home, beautiful views, and fabulous host!! We had everything we needed and then some. Very responsive and welcoming host!! I will definitely be back!
House was great and very comfortable, SO many amenities. Stunning views. Easy access to grocery stores nearby. Crowded lake with ample sound from the road across the lake and many motorized vehicles on the lake. We very much enjoyed the kayaks and canoe, and the loons!
This was our second time we stayed at Andrea’s in Swanville. We have rented several homes over the years but this one is our absolute favorite. It’s quiet and relaxing at the lake house house with plenty of indoor and outdoor activities but also a short distance to Belfast for shopping and great restaurants. Andrea was an excellent host who went out of her way to help schedule our stay this year and was always available for questions. The memories we had here will last a lifetime!
Our family loved the house and location. We had been in it a few years before for a couple of hours when another family member rented it. We grew up in the area, graduated from Searsport High and now just come back for summer visits. We own rental properties ourselves so appreciate how well appointed this property is and how easy everything in the process works. The neighbors do have a large dog that could potentially be a problem when you bring your own pets and small children. However, the owners were understanding of our situation and we all made it work. They kept their dog inside when we were out. We will definitely keep this house on our “yes” list
This is my second year here and it is perfect for me, my dog, and a friend and their dog. We do an early morning drive with the dogs to bust out the five mile Belfast Rail Trail, then paddle and have fun in the sun. Heav’n Sent has everything we need and more and I hope to go back next year. The questions I had for Andrea were answered swiftly and well. We spent a bit of time in Belfast this year and I highly recommend Young’s for lobster and steamers, and Vinolio for wine and oyster tasting! As a note the neighbor does have a large Shepherd, but they are incredibly considerate. We only saw the dog on his deck, and met him once when we were both walking. A non-issue.
Very nice home with frontage on a pretty lake. Beautiful view.Accurate listing. Good sized combination family room kitchen and dining room on main floor with walkout deck along the entire length. Good sized bedrooms. Property was very clean. All needed amenities are available. Acadia is a 70 minute drive to Bar Harbor. Highly recommend Young’s Lobster Depot for lobster.
Andrea’s house was amazing. My wife said she wanted to stay forever when she first walked in! The view of the lake again….amazing! The house was roomy and clean! We traveled to Acadia and Bar Harbor. The trip was a tad long (about 1 hr to both places), but worth the drive to get away from the hustle and bustle and to enjoy the atmosphere at the house! Andrea was easy to communicate with and to work with! She helped us add another night to our stay! If ever in Maine again I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again! John L and family.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Andrea‘s place. Everything went super smoothly. She greeted us at the house with crumpets, blueberry jam and honey from Maine. Everything was clean and in good order. The kitchen was fully functional. Having the kayaks and canoe were perfect. The lake and the neighborhood the home is in are lovely. Views of the lake from every window on the back of the house are beautiful. Thank you for a great place to stay as we explored Maine.
Andrea's house was in a perfect location for transversing mid coast Maine. Situated at the end of a dirt road, overlooking beautiful Swan Lake, the views were outstanding! There was plenty of room for the whole family, including an expansive deck with many different seating options. Everything you will need for an enjoyable vacation, is at this house, including floaties to soak up the rays while lounging on the lake. Don't worry about the German Shepherd(Bruno)next door, he comes over to play...it's just like having another family member around! Will not hesitate to book this house again, for our next Maine adventure!
We recently spent 4 nights at Heav'nsent and had a wonderful time. It's a beautiful location, and though it was about 90 minutes from the entrance to Acadia, it was well worth it. If our agenda had included Camden, Banghor, or Belfast, it would have been even more ideal--we'll leave that for next time. The kitchen is well stocked and allowed us to enjoy making meals together in the evenings. The view is not overstated and was a highlight every morning as we enjoyed a cup of coffee on the deck. Andrea was prompt in her responses and has created a house that feels like home. We will certianly recommend it for friends and family who make trips to the area in the future.
Beautiful cottage with amazing views and in a great location. Our childhood friend just retired to Swanville, and we got to stay 5 minutes away from her. There was plenty of room for all of us to sleep, and the a/c worked great in the downstairs and the master bedroom. Luckily we brought fans because the weather was hot for September, and we read in another review that there were no ceiling fans.
Lake water was clean and refreshing. Kayaking was great! Fire pit is a great amenity. Loons were magical, and we also enjoyed the daily visits from the hummingbirds.
Enjoyed Belfast, and had great dinners at the Nautilus, the Front Street Pub, and Darby’s (don’t miss the baked Jarlsburg)!
Thank you, Andrea, for the perfect spot! Can’t wait to return!

About the host
Hosted by Andrea Nilson
I grew up in Bloomfield CT and currently live in North Stonington, CT. I went to school at Quinnipiac University, and after a 35-year career in the pharmaceutical industry, I am retired. We have been vacationing or visiting Swan Lake for years now and absolutely love this hidden gem of a lake. We decided to try the cottage rental business so that we can share the beauty and peacefulness of the surroundings. I love the simple life.
Why they chose this property
This property is my dream come true as I have always wanted a place on a lake. When we were up there last year I noticed this home for sale and went to take a look with my mom and our good friend who also rents on the lake. As my husband likes to tell our friends "I left her unsupervised for a little while and she comes back with a house". What is life if you can't achieve your dreams. This is God's gift with the beautiful surroundings, abundant wildlife, crystal clear lake water, fishing, the sounds of Loons, friendly neighbors. It's paradise and a great way to get away from it all. Just couldn't help wanting to be a part of a lake community. Besides, Maine is such a beautiful state and camping vacations as a child have made a lasting impression.
What makes this property unique
Our home has an expansive wrap around deck, which is so relaxing to sit out on. The numerous picture windows in the bedrooms and living room are unbelievable and there's nothing like waking up in the morning to see such a lovely view of the lake. It's almost like you're floating on the water.
