About this property
HERITAGE COTTAGE set in peaceful rural surroundings, Scottish Borders
Combine cosy country with the fresh shades of summer in this peaceful rural hideaway set amidst the rich rolling landscape of the Berwickshire countryside. For some, the tranquil setting will be the real draw, while its location will be equally suited to those looking to take advantage of more active exploring across the Scottish Borders and the Northumberland coast.
A perfect setting for exploring coast and country
Ideal for two guests or four, this is a real home-from-home with plenty of lovely touches which are sure to strike a chord, including a warm welcome and a hamper of local produce to ease you into holiday mode.
First impression is one of lovely period charm with views across open farmland towards the Cheviot Hills and an abundance of wildlife spotting opportunities right from the cottage garden. French doors lead into an inviting open plan living space with two bedrooms positioned on either side. The overall feel is warm and inviting combining a scheme of duck egg blue along with sunny yellows and pretty florals.
A cosy wood burner is perfect for relaxation, while artworks of Lindisfarne Castle and bird life celebrate the works of local artists and their close connection with the nearby heritage coastline. Indoor entertainment includes a flat screen TV with complimentary Netflix, use of an i-pad, Google smart speaker as well as a super selection of books. The kitchen is compact but ideal for holiday living and a Nespresso machine is certain to give any coffee lovers out there that all important start to the day!
The cottage is ideally-positioned for exploring the Borders and North Northumberland including the National Park and the stunning coastline which is only a 20 minute drive from the cottage. Edinburgh is an easy day trip; just over an hour by car or 45 minutes on the train from nearby Berwick-upon-Tweed.
