I've stayed at this groovy little cottage a couple of times and I've already booked it for future visits to Sewanee. It is less than 5 miles from campus and completely cozy.
This is my 5th or 6th time staying in the cottage. Could not be more perfect for an individual or couple. Everything you need... especially the quiet!!! WIFI works great, all the kitchen supplies you need, a short drive to Sewanee, Monteagle, and great midway spot for day trips to Nashville or Chattanooga.
We love the location. The cottage was clean, fully furnished, comfortable, and shaded well. The dog pen off the living room was fully enjoyed by our small dog Maggie. The owners were friendly and helpful.
Lovely little cottage situated near a bluff on the Cumberland Plateau about 4 miles from the town of Sewanee. Quiet and peaceful wooded location. Nice break from the heat and humidity of the Gulf Coast. Would definitely visit again.
Beautiful little cottage with everything we needed. We just moved to Tennessee and needed a place to stay before closing on our house. Owner was super sweet, everything was perfect.
This place is special! It has everything you want for an individual retreat or a small family vacation! Location is perfect for Sewanee, Monteagle, half way between Nashville and Chattanooga. The cottage will continue to be the only place I’ll stay when visiting the area! Fantastic, responsive owners!
We had a wonderful stay over a long weekend. The space was extremely clean, cozy, and extremely peaceful. We took full advantage of the wonderful weather and charcoal grill at sunset. Can't beat it! Definitely recommend for a quiet getaway!
We enjoyed the cottage. It was perfect for two people. It was close to Sewanee making it easy to drive back and forth to campus. The host was very friendly and accommodating, even providing my husband with a book on goats when she learned he was interested in getting some.
What a special place!! I stayed with just myself and my dog and it was exactly what we wanted. I needed to be near Sewanee for a writing program and this charming cottage nestled in a wooded area on a quiet road was conveniently located. The cottage itself is immaculate: very well maintained, perfectly set up & equipped with everything you’ll need.
There’s a fenced in backyard and a spacious covered porch. The owner, who lives nearby, is responsive, helpful and kind. It was just perfect.
Another stay in this fantastic cottage! Everything you could want for an individual retreat, couples retreat, or even a small family. Close to the campus, Monteagle, Cowan/Winchester/Dechard. Easy drive to Nashville or Chattanooga. Quiet, with all the amenities one needs. Cannot recommended enough. I will be back!!!
This is the perfect stay for anyone looking to spend time on the mountain or take day trips off the domain. It’s close to everything in Sewanee and Monteagle. Gracious host. Everything you need. Comfy bed. Great kitchen with all the necessary utensils. Very quiet! AC worked great for the hot summer. Really doesn’t get much better. Perfect place for a couple or family with small children.
Loved being able to have my own space with my doggie. Sue was so kind to bring veggies from her garden. The place was so comfortable and clean. Air felt so nice. I would wake up in the morning, put on hot water, and sit outside in the fence staring at the trees swimming in greens within greens while Myles sauntered his puffy butt cheeks around sniffing and pooping. Then I’d go on campus and inhale the Gothic architecture and think and write. Immaculate vibes.
The cottage was perfect for our anniversary weekend getaway. The cottage was well appointed and Sue did a great communicating with us providing suggestions in the area and tips for our stay. She even left us flowers on the kitchen table.
We will be back.
We love this cottage! Sue is an excellent host and the cottage is very clean and very well stocked. We look forward to staying again soon!
