This house was more like a boutique hotel in presentation! We loved it and the location is amazing - walking distance to everything. PEI is just beautiful and this was a great house to use as a base - beautifully equipped - loved it!
Very nice and comfortable house. High-end finishes throughout. Excellent air conditioning in every room. Loved the location to walk to restaurants and the waterfront. A rare find!
Great location near a coffee shop, restaurants, and the boardwalk. The home is newly renovated with updated amenities, but retains the charm of an older heritage property. Plenty of space for our family. We would certainly stay here again!
An old house that was newly renovated, with nice appliances and furnishings. A few block walk to all the best restaurants and shops. Driveway parking and a very responsive host. Checks all the boxes!
Beautiful old property in center of Charlottetown Modern fixtures, immaculately cleaned, and cared for. We stayed for three nights. Located in center of PEI, so we could make day trips in both directions. Two blocks to restaurants. Highly recommend.
Charles Palmer house is a stunning and incredibly comfortable home away from home! It is as beautiful as the pictures tell. The host, Ellen, was very responsive and helpful. The location is perfectly situated for walking, meals, shops and arts. Given the opportunity we’d come back to both PEI and this home.
Perfect place for a weeklong stay. Spotless throughout, and I am finicky, obviously a labour of love for Ellen. Large rooms incuding 3 double bedrooms. Welcoming decor...lovely family room with high cellings and lots of light. Walking distance to central Charlottetown and Queen Street.
Ellen and Tim were amazing hosts and the property exceeded our expectations. The property was clean and spacious. We were a group of six and the property was more than enough room for all of us. The location was fantastic and was within walking distance to all the major attractions in Charlottetown.
No issues at all during our week long stay.
We definitely recommend this property to our friends and family! Thanks so much Ellen and Tim - we look forward to returning again next year!!
The Charles Palmer House retains all of its 19th century charm, but updated with all modern conveniences. Clear open floor plan, three spacious bedrooms and large bathrooms. Beautifully appointed. Ellen was fabulous, and was quick to respond to any questions or requests we had. Best of all it is located within mere blocks of most restaurants and attractions in town, two blocks from the waterfront. Highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The house was exactly as described. It was very clean and well appointed. Communication with the host was excellent. The property is in an excellent historical location. Very easy access to all points east. This location is within a few minutes to the water and the berth place for cruise ships - which is always interesting to see. There are too many restaurants within a 5-10 min walk to even mention. All the restaurants we went to were outstanding. For people that like lobster there is an excellent lobster Restaurant with a pound that is 2 min away and does excellent take out. The house and the location is outstanding - we would highly recommend
Absolutely A+++++ Gorgeous home and perfect location
With a four day weekend and fall upon us we decided to go to PEI for the first time. Moving from Georgia to Maine four years ago we were yearning for a new adventures. With times as they are it wasn't possible to explore as we would have liked. Since the borders are open again we are making up for lost time.
From the first time I reached out Ellen was very responsive. Upon arrival we were very impressed with the ease of accessing the property (contactless check-in) and how immaculate it was. Truly the cleanest property we have ever experienced!
Traveling with a teenage son and a pre-teen daughter the layout of the home worked perfectly. Each bedroom was bright and beautiful. The beds were comfortable and the linens were luxurious. I have mobility challenges and although this is a three level older home, the stairs are not too narrow and the handrails were the most secure I have ever encountered- extremely solid. The house is well stocked in the kitchen/bed/baths. Being so close to all things wonderful in Charlottetown, it was very quiet and peaceful. The home is walking distance to all the downtown eateries, coffee shops, and shopping. We enjoyed our stay very much. It really does not get much better than this.
If I was asked, is there anything you would have liked to see that you didn't, I have a couple non-deal breaker niceties.
1. There is a Keurig machine . Leaving two pods for the first morning cup would be lovely. Our travels took us a lot longer than expected so we arrived late. We thought it would be OK for breakfast and coffee the next morning with so many coffee shops and restaurants nearby. It was Remembrance Day and all we tried were closed.
2. A small (one day) toiletry set of shampoo, conditioner, and shower soap would have been appreciated. (We greatly appreciated the liquid hand soap in all three bathrooms and hand sanitizer at the front door).
We loved every second of our stay. If you can book it- you really should. I know if Ellen will have us, we will be back. Thank you for being a wonderful host and allowing our family to share your home for our first PEI adventure.
Excellent location for getting around Charlottetown on foot. Easy driving to other points on the Island. Ellen was amazing at arranging fir us to check in 1 day early just after Hurricane Fiona had passed. Super clean home -worked perfect for all of us. The Prince Water Corner seafood place was a quick favourite. One of our favourite stays of our extended holiday!
Beautiful house. Great location, close to all of downtown Charlottetown. Everything was as described and shown in the photos. Ellen was helpful, responsive and a pleasure to deal with. We caught the start of Hurricane Ian which caused many problems but that did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay.
Wow! our stay could not have been better. The Charles Palmer house is so welcoming , full of charm with a sense of history yet has all the modern comforts of home. The location was fantastic.
Only a couple of blocks from many local restaurants and the Charlottetown waterfront. The owners made the whole experience top notch. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Beautiful property in a great location, about 5 minute walk to waterfront. Lots of restaurants and pubs close by. Super comfortable bedding and upgraded linen. Modern appliances including washer and dryer. Nice outdoor patio with comfortable seating.
The Palmer House couldn't be better! It was impeccably clean and neat, with very comfortable beds, great shower pressure, laundry facilities, air conditioning, and any amenities you might need. The location was wonderful. It is in easy walking distance to many shops, parks, historic sites, restaurants, and the beautiful Charlottetown harbour area. It was an easy neighbourhood to navigate when walking or driving.. The pass to visit the National Parks was a great (unexpected) perk, as we went to some of the beaches in the north part of the Island. Ellen was an excellent host, checking in to make sure things were going well without intrusion. We will wholeheartedly recommend the Palmer House to friends and family!
This is a beautiful property. It has modern updates but has kept all the beauty of the historic property that it is. We loved the high ceiling and large window that make it bright and airy. The back deck with comfy seating was the perfect shaded spot for morning coffee Very comfortable beds with luxurious linens. It was everything it promised and more
This property was impeccable! Completely spotless and luxurious. Ellen was incredibly responsive and helpful, and the location was amazing for access to downtown and the waterfront. Far surpassed my expectations :)
We had a great stay. The house more than lived up to expectations - very clean, spacious, comfortable, and ideal location. Will definitely look to return on next visit to the island!
We were a group of 6 adults and really enjoyed location of this property. As well it was very clean!
