About this property
Ca' Del Monastero 5 Collection
Introducing the beautifully renewed Ca' Del Monastero collection — a unique residence comprising nine elegant apartments set within the former monastery connected to the ancient Church of San Zan Degolà, one of the oldest churches in Venice, tucked away in the authentic and atmospheric district of Santa Croce, just moments from the Grand Canal.
Recently refreshed with a sophisticated new interior concept, Ca' Del Monastero 5 combines Venetian character with contemporary comfort. Soft neutral tones, elegant textured wall coverings, warm wood finishes and refined aqua-blue accents create a bright and welcoming atmosphere, while exposed wooden beams, traditional Venetian terrazzo flooring and original architectural features preserve the timeless charm of the building's historic setting.
Enhanced by a range of modern comforts including air conditioning, Wi-Fi connection and communal utility facilities, the Ca' Del Monastero apartments offer an ideal balance between authentic Venetian living and contemporary convenience, in one of the city's most genuine residential neighbourhoods.
Compact, elegant and exceptionally welcoming, Ca' Del Monastero 5 is a charming two-bedroom apartment offering comfortable accommodation for up to four guests.
Enjoying peaceful views over the Salizada and towards the beautiful walled garden of Venice's Natural History Museum at the Fondaco dei Turchi, the apartment also benefits from access to a shared furnished internal courtyard — a quiet retreat hidden away from the bustle of the city.
The apartment is accessed through its own independent entrance from the Salizada below and is situated on the first floor, reached by stairs.
Inside, carefully selected furnishings, soft contemporary colours and abundant natural light create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere throughout.
The welcoming living room features beautiful exposed wooden beams, elegant wall coverings and two full-height glazed windows overlooking the Salizada and the garden beyond. Comfortable seating and calming blue tones inspired by Venice's waterways make this an ideal space to relax after a day exploring the city.
Adjacent to the living area sits the fully equipped kitchen and dining room, thoughtfully designed for both short and extended stays.
Bright, practical and well organised, it offers comfortable seating for four guests and everything required for enjoying meals at home.
The sleeping accommodation is arranged around an inner hallway and includes two attractive bedrooms.
The master bedroom offers a peaceful and refined atmosphere, combining soft neutral shades with elegant aqua accents, decorative wall coverings and a dedicated dressing area that enhances both comfort and practicality.
The second bedroom is a flexible twin room featuring two single beds, one of which is pull-out style, making it particularly suitable for families travelling with children or friends travelling together.
The apartment is completed by a modern bathroom with shower, finished in elegant contemporary materials and designed to provide comfort and functionality throughout your stay.
And last but certainly not least, guests have access on the ground floor to the shared furnished internal courtyard — a delightful hidden oasis offering a rare opportunity to enjoy a quiet outdoor space in the heart of Venice.
Good to Know
The furnished internal courtyard is shared with guests staying at Ca’ Del Monastero 5.
Ca’ Del Monastero 5 and Ca’ Del Monastero 8 occupy a separate section of the residence with an independent entrance from the Salizada, creating an intimate and private setting within the larger Ca’ Del Monastero complex.
When booked together, the two apartments offer an ideal solution for extended families, couples travelling together or groups of friends who wish to stay close to one another while maintaining the privacy and independence of separate accommodations. The shared courtyard provides a welcoming space for gathering and socialising, combining conviviality with the comfort of having one’s own private apartment.

About the host
Hosted by Views On Venice
Views on Venice was founded in the late 1990’s when the concept of short term apartment rentals was in its infancy and rarely considered an option by most visitors to the city. As a ‘thirty-something’ Venetian excited by the new business and communication opportunities offered by the internet, I decided to link up with a close childhood friend in creating a partnership which, at the time, was a novelty in Venice. The idea we had in mind was to approach the traditional management of my family’s apartments from an entirely different angle, while at the same time resisting the attentions of those wanting to transform my family's palazzo into a prestigious hotel. Our aim was to offer these apartments, as well as those of friends, for rental to an international clientele who’d take pleasure in the comfort, freedom and authenticity of ‘living at home as a Venetian’ rather than merely observing the city from the confines of an anonymous hotel room or suite. The common denominator then, as now, was to offer ‘something extra’ amidst an already extraordinary city - an added dimension which turns a ‘stay’ into an ‘experience’ and a 'dream' into 'reality'.
