About this property

Cold Spring Farm Milk House Apt.- Colgate & Hamilton College

The “Milk House “is an apartment in a large retired dairy barn. My father ,Ron, created the apartment from the actual area that was once the milk house. The milk house of the barn is traditionally the area where the milk tank sits and also where the milking machines are cleaned and sanitized .
The barn is located on a beautiful 17 acres with open fields, a small pond and trees behind it. The apartment Is a cozy escape away from the hustle and bustle perfect for a couple or 3 person family( there’s a sofa available for the extra child /person ) It has modern amenities, including WiFi , an open floor plan with nice sized kitchen for meals at home. There’s one large bedroom with a comfortable queen sized bed with a gel mattress.
It’s an easy, very scenic 10-15min drive from the quaint Village of Hamilton and Colgate University and a 30 min drive from the bustling town of Clinton, the home of Hamilton College.
Cold Spring Farm was a working dairy farm on 170 acres of farmland up until about 10 years ago . My Dad can never stay still and loved the views and rustic nature so he’s kept busy renovating the barn. The Milk House apartment area was once the center of activity housing the big milk holding tank , milking machines , and other equipment for milking the cows on the dairy farm. All that is gone now making way for a quaint 1 bedroom / 1 bath getaway in a rural peaceful setting. Star gaze the night sky and enjoy the rustic beauty! Get a chance to sleep in an actual barn ......but with all the amenities !!! See our other listings for more options at Cold Spring Farm for you and your friends and family !

It was awful. A reservation means NOTHING!!! They cancelled right before my event leaving me in a very tough spot. Expedia should not work with them as a vendor or at a minimum advise customer that reservations are not guaranteed and are subject to last minute cancellation for no reason !

Colgate Weekend Visit

I stayed at the Milkhouse during a weekend visit to Colgate for my daughter. She stayed with her group on campus so I wanted a nice place to stay at close to campus. Roz's place was great! Very cozy, clean, and easy to get to. I'd definitely stay again! Next time I'd plan to spend more time on the back porch enjoying the view and the peace and quiet.

This was a very nice place to stay. The owner made sure it was well stocked with certain necessities. I was impressed they had a nice coffee maker and coffee. They even had creamer (that I forgot). The TV has multiple streaming built in. The location was great for visiting Hamilton and Colgate.
