The yurt was very clean and cozy and was very easy to find. Would definitely stay again if I’m ever in the area!

Such a great place to rest and recharge. Very easy to get to, and only a short distance from Colgate and Cooperstown. Owners was great, we look forward to visiting again.
We enjoyed a lovely weekend in Michael’s Yurt which was conveniently located (About 20 minutes) from Colgate University where our son was graduating. The Accommodations are exactly how they are advertised – clean with All the basic necessities except towels, which we were told to bring ahead of time. The setting is gorgeous with rolling hills and beautiful views.
Due to a commencement at Colgate, all properties were booked up, except the yurt. Despite our advanced age, we’d never stayed in one and so signed on. For 2 nights it was kind of fun and very interesting. Everything worked, even though it was kind of DIY. Terrible weather did not allow us to appreciate the great views it must have.
Brought our dogs and hiked the property everyday. Wonderful views at the summit. Had a fire at night and cooked breakfast outside in the morning. The surrounding restaurants were surprisingly very good! Nice antique shops and bakeries. The yurt is small is good for sleeping with a great heater that keeps a comfortable even temperature. Michael is responsive and personable along with knowing a lot about the region’s history.
We enjoyed our cozy stay at the yurt during peak fall foliage season. What a gorgeous place to be. I love NY! All necessary amenities available in the yurt and pretty comfortable futon bed. Interesting story about the property was fascinating. Hiked up the summit of Loomis Hill and visited local Hamilton - quaint college town. No wifi but verizon service was strong so no problem. Host was attentive, thoughtful and easy to reach. A great stay!
The "surround-sound" of nature in this yurt was delicious! Crows during the daytime and coyotes at night took the lead roles, but were accompanied by so many other critters - a beautiful 24-hour concert of life! My last morning I awoke to find a "lake" had suddenly formed just down the hill from the yurt -- of course, it wasn't a lake, but rather low clouds or thick mist that looked like water and made the hills on the horizon seem like the "lake's" far shore. Truly a magical view. I would stay here again. My only suggested improvement would be to add a railing going up the steps. As one who walks with two canes, the lake of a railing made coming and going more challenging. But I managed!
Very well equipped yurt. Has the same functions as a hotel suite. Host was excellent with communications. Ensured our stay was a pleasant one. Scenery beautiful and the area's history was bountiful. Great stay and location for the outdoor enthusiast!
the most amazing experience for myself and daughter and two pups. unplug from the world and truly immerse yourself into the wonder of nature---peace and tranquility ---no distractions---just the earth, sky and air-----everyone should experience this hidden gem......will return for sure.....Thank you Michael.
My two sons and I really enjoyed the yurt during a stay in the area. Location is beautiful, yurt is super comfortable (you may want to bring an air mattress if you don't like the futon), and Michael is a super helpful host. Short drives to Hamilton, Cazenovia and other great small towns. Really quiet at night and fantastic views of the surrounding hills. Highly recommend the yurt and this location.

My stay in a yurt in 2019
It was an awesome experience! The yurt itself is a bit run down, the futon is horrible, my back killed me for a week, the show was on the verge of breaking and the whole place could use a good cleaning, I had to wash a layer of dust off everything pot or cup I used! It’s a very beautiful location that just needs some updating
The yurt was beautiful. It provided the perfect, restful spot to go to at the end of a busy day. It was everything the ad promised. The property manager was easily accessible to answer any questions in a friendly and welcoming manner. We completely enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property to anyone.

Ron and Sue were great guests. They left the Yurt neat and tidy. We would rent to them again anytime.
Micheal was a very interactive host without being intrusive. He communicated with us and was very concerned about us having a wonderful experience. His love for the area is also very evident. We visited some of the vocal businesses at his suggestion and could not have been happier. Views were incredible. The yurt was clean and well stocked. The semi private shower and bathroom were clean with plenty of hot water. No secrets in a Yert!

Colgate graduation getaway
Wanted to get away from the noise and activity in Hamilton while attending graduation weekend. Perfect location for us, about 11 miles away on nice backroads. We got up early to watch the sunrise, enjoyed hiking around the property with our dogs, observing the birds, deer, turkeys strutting in a nearby field. Nice views!

Awesome!!
Michael was a great host and it was a great experience. The yurt was perfect and it was nice to explore the property. We especially enjoyed visiting the animals, and a highlight was watching the sunrise from the porch of the yurt. We definitely want to come back sometime-it was a great trip and we wish we had more time there!
