The Mountaineer property offers an open floor plan with three levels of living. The home is a luxury vacation retreat and is loaded with country charm with custom wood working and a two story fieldstone fireplace as a center piece. This is a sister property to our other VRBO listing# 576218 The Tahoe House (five star review). The Mountaineer provides modern amenities with a large kitchen with granite countertops and three full bathrooms. A wrap around deck provides for plenty of outdoor entertaining space. The house is located at the southern tip of majestic Lake Sunapee the Newbury town beach and Sunapee Resort State Beach and Recreation Park are only minutes away (please note there is no water access directly from the property) . The nearby Fells Estate is a beautiful spot for a garden walk or picnic and the area trail network offers great hiking and biking. There are many local streams, lakes, and ponds for excellent fishing. Newbury Town Park is within minutes and has a terrific playground with public tennis and basketball. The property is also close to Colby Sawyer College, Proctor Academy and several excellent golf courses. It is just minutes from Baker Hill Golf course. A great spot for any occasion whether a gathering with friends or a quiet weekend for two. (New Hampshire M&R License #100131)

What a wonderful property and a very welcoming and responsive host. We visited as a family for our mother's memorial and had the space and comfort to honor her memory together. Super highlights include the firepit and the porch. Super convenient to beaches and restaurants. We visited the Craftsman's Fair (a favorite of ours for decades) and the location was perfect for that. HIghly recommend a stay here. We will be back!

Nice Place!

We stayed here for a small CDC-Approved wedding and this house was great. Huge kitchen/dining/living area was perfect! Plenty of parking and excellent outdoor area.

Beautiful property!

Great location, beautiful property. Plenty of room for the family birthday party that we had. The low water pressure was a little frustrating but we made due. Overall it was a great stay and we would come back again

A kind owner and beautiful place

We rented the house for the 4th of July weekend. The house was beautiful, clean and perfect for us. The owner, Michele, was kind and very helpful answering our questions and giving recommendations for things to do in the area. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Perfect family vacation home

Beautiful home, immaculate and well appointed. Everything one needs for an enjoyable vacation . Bedrooms and bathrooms on three levels gave everyone the privacy they needed especially with little ones. Outdoor space was great with several sitting areas and room for play. Highly recommend this property!

5 day stay

We booked the place for seven people. Plenty of room. We were in town for my son’s wedding which was at the John Hayes estate which is a must see! Loved hanging out on the big back porch and the place was very centrally located. Sunapee beach was really close as well. Great views and clean water at this beach!

Excellent Family Reunion Spot

We had a family reunion in the area. This house was wonderful for my family to stay in. We enjoyed the open living room and the separate bedrooms were great for the kids to stay in. We enjoyed several fires outside at night and the giant chessboard was also a hit. Thank you for letting your property contribute to making good family memories.

This is our second stay at this property. It’s a great setup that works for our family and space is clean and updated. Plenty of space and amenities. Owner is quick to respond to any questions.

Family get together

We had a large family gathering between this property and the sister property. This house is beautiful, the photos online really don’t do it justice. There was plenty of space for everyone and a beautiful porch and outdoor space for entertaining with a fire pit. Plenty of parking. Would definitely stay here again!

Family summer vacation

This house and outdoor living area is Beautiful!!! We had the most perfect family vacation week! The kitchen was well stocked and the set up of the living area with the beautiful outdoor deck with all of its comfortable seating areas and the fire pit for gathering and making s’mores couldn’t have been more perfect!!! Perfect Family Retreat

My family rented this house to stay the weekend of my sister’s wedding (in addition to the owner’s other property next door). The house was perfect- it has a rustic, upscale cabin vibe. The whole property is beautiful, especially since it was fall. It’s close to a lake and lots of hiking. There was lots of space for everyone to sleep and many places to gather inside and outside. The owner was flexible and responsive to messages. Google maps directed us a little bit too far down the road so I would rely on the owner’s directions and look at the house numbers once you’re on 103a. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to return!

Lake Retreat

We spent five wonderful and relaxing days at the house. Michele was very easy to communicate with, through the booking process and while we were there. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The house itself is so cozy and special, you can tell a lot of care has gone into it. We cooked almost all of our meals at the home – the large kitchen is fully stocked with everything we needed. The spacious deck was wonderful for our morning coffee and yoga! The house is perfect for entertaining - we had a small get together with some friends who were also staying in the area. There are lots of activities and the kids (and adults!) really enjoyed exploring all the outdoor areas. The location is super convenient and close to the lake. If you are looking for a peaceful, private place to relax and enjoy the outdoors, look no further! We would definitely stay here again.

Property was a great location to our daughters venue.

The property was great for the purpose we were there in NH but the property was not conducive to older adults. My daughter was getting married so we took her 83 year old grandmother along with an 82 year old cousin. There are no hand rails anywhere and the outside of the house was poorly lit and had an individual to fall on the outside rock step and hurt themselves because they could not see. The only outside light we could find was just the only light at the front door which does not light the rock steps area. We had another individual to trip on the steps from the main floor to the basement because of the difference in the landing step going down from the other steps. It was about 2 inches higher than the rest of the steps and misjudged. Please know while this is absolutely a wonderful property, it is not a good and safe environment for individuals who have problems with walking.

Great stay for our Family

This property was perfect for our family. Plenty of room, nice big kitchen and open feel, and the location was perfect for visiting with our other family in Blodgett’s landing. Lots of great amenities: Beautiful wrap around porch, grill, fire pit, and life size chess board. The surrounding areas were quiet. We were in touch with Michele during the trip who was super responsive to any questions we had. We look forward to our next booking here!

Great home got families

So much space to sprawl out so clean and kitchen fully equipped for any meal type. Beds comfortable and the bottom level will be perfect when fully finished! 10 minutes from Sunapee harbor and lake and mountain area We were here for a family reunion so we were not at the house much which we wish we had more time to enjoy all that this great home has to offer. Long weekend

Staying here was great. The rooms were comfortable, there was plenty of room, and any questions I had were answered right away. I held my 30th birthday party here. The only downside is that it wasn't clear what all of the house rules were on the vrbo posting and if vrbo had made me do a security deposit, i would have been charged extra for cleaning. I had confetti balloons, and did not separate cans from trash. That's the only thing I'd watch out for.

Superlative Choice

Immediately upon entering , we decided that the pictures did not do the unit justice. The woodwork details are stunning! Some very gifted craftspeople built this gorgeous property. Well equipped and very clean, the unit was furnished upscale, quiet and in a peaceful setting. Outside was as impressive as inside. Obviously much thought went into the landscaping and recreational areas. We would highly recommend.

Our family built this home with quality and comfort in mind. The kitchen and all of the beautiful woodwork is a gift from the patriarch of the Lucey family, Papa. Papa spent his career making high precision machine patterns out of wood and he makes beautiful furniture and cabinetry, he is also the mastermind behind the two story fieldstone fireplace. The property is owned by KLMS LLC, which stands for Kevin, Loranna, Scot, and Michele. Kevin and Scot are brothers and have learned a ton from their Dad. Scot and Michele moved to Lake Sunapee in 1994 and have truly been blessed to be able to live and raise their family here.

Why they chose this property

Great location accessble to everythink the area has to offer while offering privacy in a wooded setting. If you are having a larger group we have the sister property that share a boundary with the Mountaineer.
