Summary:
Renovated in Dec ‘21, this quiet and peaceful house with a massive yard and palapa is great for families and friends wanting to experience both Charleston's great Downtown area and beachfront — it's perfectly situated right between the two.

The Space:
Sunny, spacious, exceptionally-located James Island house with great outdoor living space and boutique amenities. The house is a few minutes from Downtown and less than 10 minutes from Folly Beach, with all the amenities of high-end boutique hotels but with much more space. Newly renovated bathrooms, TWO living rooms with large flatscreen TVs and a Sonos wireless soundsystem all contribute to a luxury experience, perfect for small groups and families— plus, an outdoor shower!

For guest convenience we provide coffee, sugar, bath and beach towels, bed linens, paper towels, toilet paper, and soaps.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire home, Spacious backyard with great outdoor living space, and off street parking for 4-5 vehicles.

The Neighborhood:
The house is in a quiet, centrally located James Island neighborhood. 10 minutes from Downtown and 10 minute to Folly Beach. James Island County Park, restaurants, bars, shopping, banking, and convenience stores are all within a short 2-3 minute drive. The perfect location for visiting Charleston.

Getting Around:
Uber and Lyft are plentiful and affordable. There are also local yellow cabs, limo services, and a public transit.

Hip Island House was the perfect place for our girls’ weekend trip! It’s only 15 minutes from the main spots in Charleston with easy access to shopping and food options. The house was well-appointed and had everything we needed. Would definitely consider staying here again if we are back in the area.

This was the perfect house to end our two week tour of the southeast. Perfectly situated 12 minutes from the historic downtown and Folly beach, it allowed us to see and enjoy all the area has to offer. The house was clean & comfy and the kitchen very well equipped. As a person who likes to cook, I find most short term rentals to be lacking in kitchenware, making it difficult to cook for a family - that is not the case here, the owners even provide coffee! I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Charlestown.

We enjoyed this place so much as a family of four. Our family felt at home right away and it was perfectly located to stores, restaurants, shopping, and Folly beach. Outstanding property in the heart of Old St Augustine

This property was the nicest Vacation Rental we have stayed in. Amenities were top notch, it was like staying at a high end model home. Beautiful, spacious rooms, couldn't have asked for a better location, all St Augustine attractions and restaurants were an easy walk. Beds & couches are comfortable Bathrooms are small but stylish & clean. Kitchen is very nice & equipped with everything you need. Yard is nice size for children to play & fenced. Grandchildren enjoyed cornhole & playing games provided. Books for your reading pleasure as well. Hammock to relax on while children play. Owners very nice & made themselves available if needed. Thankfully we didn't need anything. Will stay again if traveling with family & friends.

Fantastic Accommodations!

I traveled to Charleston for a quick waterski trip. The house was absolutely perfect and in a great location. It was so clean, comfortable, quiet, and cozy. It was the perfect size for my mother and I and everything we needed was provided. We loved the back TV area as we watched Netflix in the evenings. Great accommodations and great communication with David, an amazing host! I would stay here again if the dates are available for my next trip. Charleston quiet

The Ms. and I enjoy quick trips to the Charleston area. Wanted to experience it from a local's point of view. This place sits in a quiet neighborhood not far from Folly beach. It has easy access to downtown. We love the clean, simple & functional set up. We especially loved the cool backyard grill, lighting & music. Great family room. Nice bedrooms. Family Get Together

We enjoyed our stay! The back porch with comfy couch and TV was a great hangout for our teens. The backyard was wonderful, but unfortunately extreme heat and other weather conditions prevented us from utilizing it. It truly is a great space and would be such fun to barbecue and hang out in. David and Deidra made sure we knew we could reach out to them if we needed anything, Our travel departure time was awkward in relation to the check out time and I greatly appreciated a last minute accommodation that they made per my request that really helped us out. It's a relaxed type of space that we enjoyed and fit our needs well.

Perfect for family or group of friends.

The house was great for our family. It was well stocked and very kid friendly with a pack n play and a highchair at the house. The perfect amount of charm without too many knick knacks for the kids to get into. The bed blankets were a little thin, so you may want to bring your own if you or your kids like more of a comforter style bedspread. The kitchen was well stocked as well and appliances were nice. The only negative was that they were out of laundry detergent. It looks like the bottle may have just been finished by the previous renters. We would definitely stay there again on our next trip to Charleston.

Lots of room to spread out

Very shady house with lovely backyard. Plenty of bedrooms and living room and family room to spread out. Kitchen was adequate and dining area. There is a crack in the window of the master bedroom on inside pane. It was there when we checked in. Bathrooms were stellar! Laundry area and iron were appreciated. We really enjoyed our stay.
