Romance in the Pines is a cozy, hidden gem located 6200 ft high, surrounded by 100 ft pine trees and over 300 year old oak trees. This magical 2-story cabin sits on a half-acre lot with pines growing right through the large deck. The interior features raw cedar walls, gorgeous wood laminate floors, the comfiest fireplace, carpeted bedrooms and large spectacular view windows. You can have your morning coffee in the enchanted garden.
The space - Huge deck with gas barbecue and hammock - High-speed internet - 49-inch flatscreen smart TV - Central heat - Full kitchen (but no dishwasher) - You’ll need to bring your own firewood.
Other things to note Remember, you're in the Los Padres National Forest and there is a lot of wildlife up here! Between March and October, there is always a possibility of seeing California black bears. They are mostly nocturnal, so if you ever see the large motion-sensor light come on below the deck at night, it almost certainly is going to be wildlife (bear, deer, fox, raccoon, even mountain lions, etc). The light will stay on for about 40 seconds. Never attempt to interact or feed any wildlife.
Also, never leave any food or food wrappers, or anything that smells like food in your cars during these months (March-Nov.). Wildlife can find it easier than you think, and can make a mess trying to get to it! And never leave any bags of trash with food/wrappers, etc., anywhere outside overnight. The animals and critters will find it!
Additional rules 1. No shoes in the house. Please take off your shoes at the door and relax. 2. No pets, smoking, candles allowed on property. $350 fee for presence of pets or indoor smoking/vaping. This is our home and we have serious allergies. 3. Please do not check in before 3 p.m. or check out after 11 a.m. A fee of $100 dollars will be charged for early check in or late checkout without prior arrangements. 4. No children allowed under 7 years old, no exceptions. The cabin is not suitable/safe for small children. There are large spaces between railing supports on interior stairway, which children can fit through. Outside is steep, rocky, uneven terrain with big dropoffs. 5. No loud music that neighbors can hear. 6. Please park car in driveway, not on gravel or in cul de sac. 7. Always keep screen on fireplace closed, and flue open. 8. Please put all food waste/scraps in trash under left side of kitchen counter, not in garbage disposal. 9. Never leave any trash/garbage outside. In Pine Mountain Club it is forbidden to leave trash outside. This will invite wild animals like bears, bobcats, deers...etc. on the property. Wildlife will make a mess of it. 10. Please take your trash when you leave. You can take your trash to PMC Transfer Station in town. 11. Due to the presence of bears and other wildlife, you are advised against leaving any sort of food or food wrappers inside your vehicle overnight. 13. During winter, we ask that you dial the thermostat in the hallway to 45 degrees before you check out, but do not turn it off. During summer, it is unlikely you will need the heater so it should remain off. 14. Please never feed or leave food out for any wildlife. 15. Please wash all your dirty dishes and place them to original places. 16. PMC Guest passes are provided in order to use club house amenities like golf, tennis, pool areas. Guest passes must be returned upon departure. $25 fee will be charged to not returned guest passes. 17. Never leave the outside door open, always be aware of the wildlife around you and respect their environment. 18. Because the house is located in the Los Padres National Forest, It is not allowed to have outside fires and fireworks in the property. It is strictly prohibited. 19. Self check-in with key-box. You’ll need to bring your own firewood.

My husband and I have stayed here several times and we always love it. The cabin is clean, in a quiet location, great views, super cozy, and the hosts are excellent at communicating with quick responses. I highly recommend this cabin!
My wife and I celebrated her birthday. We enjoyed the total peace and quiet! The deck and fireplace in the living room are amazing! The entire layout of the place is creative and fun. Everything was as advertised. We really appreciate the generous hosts that are willing to share this most amazing setting with other guests. We will return!
Book it. Great for couples or singles some wanting peace. Nature all around. The waterfall hike trail head is walking distance. Spacious deck with several seating arrangements. Home is well appointed. We bbq’d every night. Our fav rental In PMC so far.

It was a pleasure hosting you Therese, please come again! :)
My husband and I got engaged at this cabin back in 2018 so it holds a special place in our hearts. It’s quiet, romantic and cozy, the views are amazing, the entire house is very clean, the king bed is comfortable, and the host is very quick to respond.
We had a wonderful stay at Jean and Ebru’s beautifully furnished cabin. They provided everything you will need in a gorgeous setting. Kitchen was fully stocked with spices and every implement you might need. The cabin was warm and incredibly comfortable. We can’t wait to book a return visit.
Visited for two days, and had a lovely time. Home is quiet, private, clean, and with lots of attention to detail to make the stay pleasant and comfortable. The host provided excellent communication and detailed check-in instructions. I recommend this stay for a brief getaway, or a nice vacation. Thank you!
Our second stay here. The property is beautiful and private with a wonderful deck overlooking the mountains. Both the kitchen and the rest of the house are thoughtfully stocked with things you might need. We love just sitting on the deck, gazing out with our morning coffee or enjoying the recliners in the living room, watching the fire. We'll certainly be back again.
Hosts are great communicators and provide all info you need in a very timely manner.
One note: The bedrooms and baths are on a lower floor so the property isn't a good choice for someone with mobility issues. (It was fine for us since we worked off a few calories going up and down!)
This was our first trip to PMC and we feel so lucky to have reserved this property! The location backs up to a wooded area that is so peaceful and beautiful. Only a few minutes drive from the main village area, but you feel somewhat secluded. The upstairs deck is huge and views in all directions. We visited in February so we didn't get to take advantage of the outdoor furniture, but during warmer weather it would be great to enjoy the comfy sofa and high top bistro set, as well as the hammock. Inside there is everything you could need. Large combined living and dining space and then two bedrooms with large bath downstairs. Beds are super comfy with the warmest down comforters! There is a very efficient heater that kept the entire home very warm even if you kept it turned pretty low. There are huge picture windows to enjoy the view. The kitchen is completely stocked with tons of pots/pans/small appliances and a nice touch is that there are spices in the cupboard so you don't have to bring every little thing if you plan to cook. They even leave hot cocoa mix and popcorn for game night. And of course there is a closet stocked with games!
We had food to go from LeLena's Mexican, and two meals from Condor Cafe at the Clubhouse (breakfast once and dinner once) and everything was great! A special treat is the BearClaw Bakery. We were there in the afternoon and picked up a Caprese salad and empanadas. So good we went back the next morning for bearclaws, more empenadas and bread to take home.
Really can't imagine staying at any other property now that we've had such a great experience with this home. Can't wait to visit again!
We were looking for a safe getaway this fall and chose this place based on photos and the description. It turned out to be everything promised. It was cozy, well-equipped, fairly secluded with a great deck and view. We loved our stay there and will certainly go back.
The whole area is beautiful and is in walking distance to a nice hike to a waterfall. (No falls in the autumn but there was still water in the stream.)
We loved sitting on the deck, reading, doing crossword puzzles, having tea and just enjoying nature. (It was especially nice to have comfortable, cushioned chairs.) The propane BBQ out there was a great plus.... easy to use and convenient.
Be aware that the kitchen/living area is upstairs and the bathrooms/bedrooms downstairs so you will do a fair amount of stair climbing. (We liked this since it helped us to work off a few calories!)
The owners were a pleasure to deal with and very responsive and quick to answer any inquiries.
Highly recommended!

About the host

Hello everyone, We are an international family with a 6 year old boy. We live and work in Los Angeles but fell in love with the nature tranquility of Pine Mountain Club. We looked for a house in PMC for over a year until this beautiful cabin came on the market at the end of 2019 and it was perfect! We are happy to continue hosting guests as did the previous owners with great success and 5 star reviews. We're a text, e-mail or phone call away and will be glad to answer any questions or concerns. Enjoy your stay! Ebru Caparti & Jean Martin
