In a word - 'Breathtaking'.
Whitecaps Summit is a sister cottage of Whitecaps Retreat and Whitecaps Cabana . The three cottages share access to the private sandy beach on the west and access to Creaser's cove (pebble shoreline) on the East. The Summit is located 350 ft from each of its sister cottages, far enough to have privacy, but close enough for three groups wanting to rent 3 cottages.
Perfect for extended families, Whitecaps Summit has three master bedrooms with king-size beds, and one bunk room with four single beds. Two of the master bedrooms have an ensuite bathroom, and the third shares a bathroom with the bunk room.
The cottage has a modern design, with an open kitchen, dining and living room, from which you can take in the expansive view. The kitchen is complete with all the modern amenities you would expect, and the dining table has space for 10.
Through the large french doors off the kitchen, you enter the screened-in porch with comfortable patio furniture and table for dining alfresco. Off the second story is a sundeck with a breathtaking 180-degree view. This deck offers spectacular stargazing. Wrap up in a fleece blanket from the basket on the second floor landing and count the shooting stars.
This region of Nova Scotia is known for its warm waters where the LaHave River meets the Atlantic Ocean. During low tide, play on the private beach, 600 feet south of the beach stairs . A warm beach with shallow sand bars is a rare experience on the East Coast. You will find beach chairs, boogie boards and a lobster boiler in Summit's shed. The steep driveway and hill to the beach stairs offers a mini workout, pack shoes with a good grip for the climb :) If it’s surf you are looking for, Hirtle's and Kingsburg beaches are mere minutes away.
We are located 15 minutes from Lunenburg, a World Heritage UNESCO site and home of the Bluenose II sailing schooner. In the town, you will find restaurants, galleries, a museum, quaint book stores, and charming shops near the waterfront. The LaHave ferry is a 5-minute drive from Whitecaps. The cable ferry takes you to the well known LaHave Bakery. Park your car and take the ferry across or drive on board to explore the south side of the LaHave River. Cyclist love this route and also use the ferry for exploring the area.

Beautiful views since the house sits on top of a hill. All the beds were extremely comfortable and nice soft sheets. Had a small issue with the dishwasher but the owner addressed it quickly. Loved the screened in porch and the upper deck, just taking in the views and relaxing.
The house was perfect for our extended family of 8. Great location 15 mins from Lunenburg, close to beaches snd other attractions, wonderful views/sunsets over LeHave River.
Quiet area with amazing views perfect for star gazing!
Amazing property with great views. The house had everything we needed and more. Would highly recommend the property for anyone looking to get away! I loved that each king bedroom had its own bathroom so perfect for 3 couples!
We had a great family reunion at the Whitecaps Summit and Retreat! Very nice, well equipped, modern homes with all the amenities. Highlights were the beach access, the firepits with firewood (we used both), the upper deck and deck blankets to watch the sunset and the big windows with ocean views in every direction!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this gorgeous home. Loved the layout of the home with 3 king beds and 3 bathrooms - perfect for two families. The property was clean and well appointed. Would definitely recommend to friends and family
Even though owners were on evacution order while we were there they still were so nice and informative.
would stay agian for sure. just wish there was no fire ban but no fault of anyones
The house is new with a lot of space. The kids loved the bunk room! There’s a beautiful view of the water on three sides, with a first class sunset. There’s easy access to a beautiful beach. Overall, we loved our time here!
Beautify property. Great panoramic views from atop the hill. Property was new and very clean. Numerous small attention to detail items put in place by hosts to make it an extra special stay.
Peaceful, beautiful, clean, quiet with everything one could need while on vacation. The three King beds were the most comfortable beds any of us had ever slept on…wow! Great for 3 couples traveling together…3 full baths as well! For anyone traveling with kids the additional bunk beds are an extra bonus. We loved the view and location too!
The house was an excellent set-up for three couples and three boys (Oma & Opa, plus sons' two families). The fire pit was a hit for smores. And we enjoyed star gazing, the beginning of the Perseid meteor shower, and satellite spotting from the top deck (very thoughtful for the house to provide blankets for outdoor use).
Located just south of Lunenburg and about 90 minutes from Halifax. Perfect if you are looking for restuarants, shopping, siteseeing, but want to experience the quite of rural Nova Scotia.
Perfect location for a long weekend with friends. The house is exactly as described. Great space to be together but the bedrooms with own bath gave us separate spaces as well. Beautiful views all around, super quiet and yet easy enough to get to Lunenburg for groceries, shopping and dinner. Must visit is Dear Emma for pizza and taking the ferry to the LeHave bakery!
Owners were helpful and easy to work with throughout the renting process. We would definitely come back!
We had a lovely stay at this property! Views from every room and clear nights on the upper deck were amazing! The beds in the main bedrooms were very comfortable! We found plenty to the do in the area, with the caves at Ovens Natural Park being our fave.
The property was clean and had the essentials. We also saw a deer mama and her baby walk across the property as well as a bald eagle!
It was a great week-long 40th birthday stay!
Warning: Staying in this paradise will ruin you for all future rentals.:)We can't say enough about how perfect our stay was. The location was fantastic - lots of beaches and shops and restaurants just a short drive away. We had fun exploring the area but we also had a great time just hanging out at the house - sitting on the deck, wandering down to the water, lounging in the house. The house had everything we needed (and then some). We were especially impressed by all the thoughtful touches that made things so easy and so relaxing (blankets for stargazing, chairs and boogie boards for the beach, big beanbag chairs for reclining, etc.). There was plenty of space to hang out together but also enough space that we could all find our own little zones for some quiet time.Jacqui and Andy were very responsive to all questions and were wonderful about ensuring we had everything we needed. All we really needed was a few more weeks of paradise... ;)
We just spend 3 nights at this amazing property (4 adults, 5 kids age 9yo and under). It was exactly as shown but with lots of extra thoughtful details (i.e. bandaids and QTips in each bathroom). The kids really enjoyed the fire pit and beach (as well as the Prime Video when it was raining - ha!). The adults appreciated the view of the amazing sunset from the fire pit and upper patio, as well as the screened-in porch to play games when the kids were in bed. Lots of places to sit and relax with a glass of wine! Only a short drive to the Lehave cable ferry to take you to the Lehave Bakery. We also drove to Hirtle's beach and did the Gaff Point trail. Highly recommend this for some time away!
