Come enjoy a weekend getaway in a new bright and private carriage house loft in the mountains. This carriage house loft is for adult stays and sleeps two comfortably. The loft is located 6 miles from downtown Lexington, the home of VMI and Washington & Lee University. It is a perfect place for couples to stay during events for either school, those looking to get away to the mountains for hiking or others visiting the Virginia Horse Center. The Maury River also accommodates kayakers and canoers of all levels and there is a wide variety of restaurants and shops in downtown Lexington to choose from. Otherwise, the loft features a full kitchen for those interested in cooking their own meals with all amenities. There is shower in the bathroom and a cozy living area with a large flat screen TV that is cable enabled. WiFi is available as well as options for being off the grid such as a large fire pit and rocking chairs on the wide deck for hanging out and reading your favorite book (note, internet is good, but not super high speed). The loft has a comfortable king size bed which is situated in the sleeping nook. All 5 large windows have wooden Venetian blinds that give you control of the light day or night. While the loft is located right off of Rt. 11 N which takes you into Lexington, it also backs up to a quiet pasture providing a nice escape and beautiful views. The carriage house loft faces east for beautiful sunrises and gets lots of natural light during the day. When you drive up, you will see the garage on the first level which is not accessible to guests. Follow the gravel path on the right side around the back and up the deck stairs to enter the loft space. The lower level garage area will be locked at all times while guests are visiting. The key to access the loft will be easily found in a lockbox to the right of the lower level side door which will be illuminated by a motion-sensored light if arriving after dark.

This is a great place to stay and is very cozy. We were in town for a wedding and had family staying close by so this carriage house was the perfect spot for us to be close to them!!
The house was exactly as listed. Very clean and well furnished. Located in a beautiful neighborhood as well. We are extremely happy with our experience!!
Always an excellent stay at the Carriage House! The location is convenient, peaceful and comfortable. I even left my eyeglasses and they were kind enough to mail them back to me! I will definitely be back!
I stayed in this private apartment during a trip to the Virginia horse center. The location is very private and a beautiful neighborhood and is above an independent garage has a great little patio, Beautiful paddocks, the bed is super comfortable as well as the couch and a very functional kitchen. I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed at the Timber Ridge Carriage House for our grandson's graduation from VMI. Perfect for a couple, with everything you need in a cozy setting. Clean as a whistle and everything in tip-top shape. The area is gorgeous, too. We walked up one of the Timber Ridge mountains and the scene was breath-taking. Highly recommend.
Wonderful and peaceful rental property. We have stayed here before and will again. Nice location for visiting various attractions. Property owner was very responsive and the overall booking experience was easy. As advertised.

Thank you, Cathy & Marty! We are so glad you found us and we would love to host you again soon. Come back and see us.
Joe and Jennie are wonderful hosts. The property is very well appointed with everything you need for a home away from home. So cozy and comfortable - The bed was really comfortable including the linens.
Communication was prompt and when I had to cancel last minute due to illness, they were gracious and allowed me to move our weekend trip to a later date. It is a quick drive to Lexington right off the highway. We hope to stay again!
Excellent location! Everything I expected plus so much more! We were close to many different activities. We spent the day in Shenandoah National Park! What views!!
The owner thought of everything you might need at this lovely carriage house. It is beautifully appointed, comfortable and private, and many nice amenities are provided. The fire pit and porch are great places to relax. We will be back!

About the host
Hosted by Joe Oliva
As an avid fly fisherman, I have been drawn to Rockbridge County for a long time. We had a wonderful place on South Mountain near Irish Creek for many years. As a custom home builder, I wanted to create an appealing retreat that could be used by others who may also share my love of the outdoors. I hope you enjoy the area as much as I do!
Why they chose this property
I love the proximity to the beautiful quaint town of Lexington while being privately located off of Rt. 11 in a rural setting. Lexington offers many fun activities or it's also a nice place to just relax and enjoy nature.
What makes this property unique
Built by me with lots of craftmanship and attention to details.
