Sunny, sheltered, spacious, 50 metres to the beach

Situated at the southern end of the settlement that still retains the character of the 50's Retro style batch, you will find our batch nestled among beautiful Kanuka and other native trees enjoying privacy, sun, and lots of space which is ideal for the kids or parking cars and boats. We are only 50 meters from the beach and a boat launching spot.
Our batch has been recently renovated and repainted. It includes up-to-date appliances, gas cooking, and a dishwasher. We have a large open-plan kitchen, dining, and family room which is great for entertaining. We can accommodate 2 families and have a separate bunkhouse with its own bathroom.
An additional charge applies if the bunkhouse is used, see rate below.
Many days are spent on the deck watching the kids, sipping on a glass of wine, or if it's cold relaxing in front of our log burner fire.


Hatepe is approximately 20 minutes from Taupo and 20 minutes to Turangi with the ski-fields a further 40 minutes away. The fly-fishing in the Hinemaimai River is some of the best with arguably some of the biggest trout in Taupo coming from this river. We have all been smashed by them but can confirm that some have come to the net just look on our wall, I may even share a secret spot or two, and the harling and trolling from the boats is brilliant right out front.

All year round there's plenty to do, walks, runs up the river, mountain biking, fishing, Sika deer hunting, or just relaxing and listening to the amazing birdlife that surrounds us this is a fabulous place to come for a relaxing weekend, holiday or a romantic getaway. We have brought all of our kids up holidaying regularly in Hatepe and have always felt that it's a very safe and caring environment. Hatepe truly is a very special place so come and share our family batch and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

*There will be an increased charge of $100 per night on the nightly rate if the bunkhouse is used in addition to the main home. A local cleaner will undertake cleaning and this is charged at the rate of $40 per hour with a minimum 3-hour charge for the home and 1 hour for the bunkhouse charged at the outset and is additional to the nightly rate.
