This house was perfect for a family coming to visit their college student. The living area felt just like home and I loved that there was plenty of seating, lights and entertainment. The property was very clean and we took advantage of the grill and ping pong table. It was a great place for our student to get out of their dorm and enjoy the comforts of home without having to make the long drive home. I highly recommend.

Visiting Son at SFA

We had a wonderful time at this cozy home, just a short walk from SFA. The ping pong table provided endless entertainment! It was great to prepare homemade meals—something he hasn't enjoyed since starting college, making it feel much more personal than a hotel stay. We’ll definitely be back! Thank you for a fantastic experience!

4th of July

The property was a cute cottage ambiance from the 50s with upgraded amenities. We enjoyed our stay even though 2 of the 4 TVs were unusable due to log in problems (probably due to a prior customer). The kitchen could use a knife sharpener device and at least 1 large saucepan/dutch oven but otherwise it was very nice. We loved the layout and it accommodated everyone even for a movie night in. Loved the ping pong table. We would definitely return. Thanks

2024 Dec Graduation stay

The house was the perfect fit for our blended family from Minnesota! It was nice knowing we had a cozy place to retreat to after a few long days of graduation festivities. The game room was put to good use by the kids and adults alike. Conveniently located close to campus and all the necessities. House was clean and comfortable. So glad we found this place! #ladyjackbowling, #28 Roers Axe’em!!

The Lumberjack Hideaway is a gem! For me being an alumni the fact that it shares a parking lot with Butcher Boys is a super bonus! That was in no way an issue for parking at the house, there is a driveway for the house. The house is very accommodating with 3 large bedrooms and 2 full baths. It is centrally located - Butcher Boys (food), downtown (3 mins away), liquor store (30 second walk), campus (5 minutes), Kroger grocery store (4 minutes).The purple room is a nice touch with ping pong table for social gathering area. It feels like you are at your own vacation home - kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms - all had what you would need at your own house. The side deck is a nice perk also. The exterior lighting all the way around the house could use a boost but we always felt safe and secure. 5 Stars!

We liked the 3 rooms with great beds. However, the property really needs a deep clean and some updating - especially the bathrooms - One shower curtain had mildew on it and we had to take it down and wash it ourselves. The paint is also peeling in the wet areas. The baseboards and door trims have not been cleaned or painted in quite some time. In the bedrooms, the curtains have holes in them but all rooms need true blackout curtains. TVs were great and the game room and family room were awesome. The kitchen needs updating and the pots and pans were truly lacking. We think the knobs on the stove had been switched as well. One roach did crawl across the counter. We think the property has potential with some updates, but we did enjoy our stay.
