The McKinney Morgan House is centrally located within walking distance to Main Street and Stephen F. Austin State University. The house is also steps away from Lanana Creek Trail in Pecan Acres Park. This 100-year-old charming home in the historic Washington Square District offers a 3 bedroom/ 2 bathroom main house and a 1 bedroom/ 1 bathroom guest house.
Our address is in the heart of Nacogdoches and parking is located directly behind the house. You will note there should be ample parking for guests in the main house and guest house, but please be mindful to space cars to ensure safe vehicle parking and movement. The garage will remain locked from use during your stay, and we appreciate your understanding.
Check in begins at 4:00pm. We cannot guarantee any early check-ins because we need to give our cleaning crew enough time to service the house prior to your arrival. However, if you have a specific check-in request, please reach out to us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
The McKinney Morgan House is equipped with self-check-in for your stay. To enter the house, use only the back door of the main house, which is equipped with keyless locks. Refer to your welcome message for your entry code. To unlock the keypad, type in your entry code then press the green check mark. To lock the door, simply press the Yale logo after you have fully shut the door. The entry code will remain the same during your entire stay.
Check out is at 11am on your final day.
TV & WiFi- Streaming apps are accessible; however, you will need to use your personal login. We ask if you do login to any of your personal streaming accounts such as Apple TV, Netflix, Amazon, etc., that you please log back out before leaving. Wi-Fi is provided.
Kitchen- We have a fully equipped kitchen for your enjoyment! There are pots, pans, silverware, knives, dishes and glassware included. Entertainment items such as Texas pewter serving dishes, wine buckets and champagne flutes etc. are also available in case a celebration brings you to Nacogdoches.
Trash cans are found in the pull-out cabinet to the right of the sink and trash bags are under the sink. Unfortunately, there are no recycle options. We do ask that you dispose of your trash prior to leaving. The large trash bin is located on the far side of the garage.
Please also enjoy the coffee and tea bar! Do not forget to throw away your coffee grounds in the trash cans as opposed to the disposal. This will help keep the disposal running smoothly. You will find a Keurig, coffee maker, coffee bean grinder and French press all for your enjoyment. Coffee, tea, cups, and additional accessories are found in the cabinets in the coffee bar area and in the cabinets to the right of the double oven.
Please load the dishwasher and run it before you check-out. When you do so, there are dishwasher pods located under the sink.

We have also provided specific wash cloths for anyone who needs to remove their makeup, they are black and labeled. And special pet towels are also available for our furry friends’ paws. Extra linens are found in the blue bedroom closet and white armoire.
Laundry is located in the utility room outside, beside the guest house to the right. Your door code will unlock this door. All laundry supplies can be found on the shelves in the utility room cabinet should you need them for personal use during your stay. If you do run the laundry during your stay, please leave the laundry machine cracked when the cycle is complete to allow the machine to dry out in-between cycles.
House Rules- Your furry friends are always welcome. There are poop bags on the greeting table in the large living room along with a specific towel to wipe their paws if it is wet outside. If you use the dog towels, please add them to the dirty towels in the bathroom with your other linens before you leave. Pets are NOT allowed on the beds; dirty paws are difficult to remove from our sheets and comforters. We offer special dog beds. Also, we ask that you please clean up after your dog(s) and throw the bags away in the large trash bin along the far side of the garage.
Please DO NOT lock any of the doorknobs when leaving. Only use the keypad to lock the doors.
There is NO smoking allowed in the McKinney Morgan House.
Please enjoy your stay and the outdoor space the house has to offer, but please be cognizant that you are in a neighborhood and do your best to not disturb the neighbors. Be sure to move the barbeque pit away from the house when in use, and when finished, turn BBQ and firepit gas all the way off. Please note, the previous guest may have turned the valve on the tank off, be sure to check as this is a good practice. There is extra propane for the fire pit and BBQ pit in the outside utility room cabinet (between the guest house and garage doors). Please clean the grill after use, and for your ease, you will find disposable grease trap pans in the kitchen cabinets along with the grill accessories. (See the cabinet to the right of the double oven.) Please dispose of grease trap pans in the trash bins on the far side of the garage.
While enjoying the outdoors, please be mindful of uneven surfaces, loose bricks, and sprinkler heads around the yard.
In the large living room, there is a lamp on the back wall on a timer and will turn off late in the evening. The bedrooms have fans located in the closets and their remotes are in the nightstands. There are flashlights in each room should you need them. A first aid kit and fire extinguisher are under the sink in the kitchen. We pray these are not needed, but please alert us if you do! For any emergency, please dial 911.
Additionally- We ask that you be mindful that the McKinney Morgan House is over 100 years old, and the floors and much of the furniture are also historic. We want you to have a fun and comfortable stay, but we hope you will be gentle, pick-up furniture--i.e. chairs or small tables-- when possible, instead of dragging it across the floors, use coasters, and please treat this home as you would your own, so we can love and share it with others for years to come. We ask that you also be considerate of the plumbing. Please avoid disposing of grease in the sinks and only dispose of toilet paper in the toilets.
Random Items- • A fire extinguisher and first aid kit are under the sink in the kitchen and the guest house bathroom. • There is a vacuum in the outdoor laundry room closet. • There is also an iron and an ironing board in outdoor laundry room as well. • There is a hair dryer in the large bathroom. • Extra linens, should you need them, can be found in the blue bedroom closet. • Extra towels, hand towels, and washcloths are found in each bathroom. • Extra propane is found in the laundry room cabinet. • Grilling accessories are found in the kitchen cabinet to the right of the double oven and near the grill itself.
Please leave us a message in the guest book in the large living room and online!
We hope you enjoy the beauty and charm of the Oldest Town in Texas!

We really enjoyed our stay at your beautiful home! Easy check-in access, comfortable beds, outdoor fire pit and all the amenities to make us feel right at home.
This house was absolutely adorable & close to downtown which is now the place to hang out! It was so clean & the beds were very comfortable! We will definitely be staying here again!
We had another amazing stay at this beautiful historic home in Nacogdoches during our daughter’s wedding weekend! It was the perfect place for such a special occasion. The girls got ready in the house, and the bride shared sweet first-look moments with her bridesmaids in the lovely yard. It couldn’t have been more picturesque.Highly recommend this home for anyone looking for a charming and memorable place to stay for a special event!
A most amazing home for an amazing stay! The Morgan home is one of the nicest and most comfortable accommodations you will find. Fully stocked with everything you need and eloquently furnished and decorated. Just a beautiful home!!

Thank you so much Brett. We enjoyed hosting y’all.
We stayed here with 10 other ladies to celebrate my daughter’s bridal shower, and it could not have been more perfect! This lovely historic home is full of charm and character, yet has all the modern bells and whistles you could possibly need. The location is absolutely ideal—beautiful, peaceful, and it truly felt like our own private retreat while still being close to everything. The beds were incredibly comfortable (everyone slept great!), and the home was spotless, spacious, and so thoughtfully appointed. It made our special weekend even more memorable. We can’t say enough good things and would absolutely, wholeheartedly recommend staying here!

Beautiful property! Great location! Very prompt communication with host. It is evident, host definitely pays attention to the details which is greatly appreciated!
The house is very nice and completely stocked with everything you will need. Everything is well maintained. We enjoyed playing lots of games around the dinning room table.
We had a wonderful time in Nacogdoches catching up and laughing. The McKinny/Morgan House was amazing. It was perfect for 4 adult women. Plenty of room to spread out, lots of towels for showers and we loved the cute coffee bar in the kitchen. We could not have asked for a more perfect location too.
What a hidden Gem with Historical History in Nacogdoches! The house has so much charm. I enjoyed morning coffee in the wooden rocking chair on the porch. Then in the evening we gathered around the Fire Pit and shared memories. The home is perfect! Beds were very comfortable! The kitchen was perfect for cooking delicious meals along with a big dining table to enjoy them. A Will definitely stay again!
We had a great time at our stay. There were three generations gathered for my daughter's SFA graduation. The house and outside patio area provided ample space for all being together comfortably. We enjoyed all the beautiful trees and walking around the lovely neighborhood.
This was the perfect place for my family to stay! Outside guest house was perfect for my in laws to stay. Everything was spotless, beds were comfortable, plenty of linens, kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, pots/pans, and more. Very convenient to be able to buy groceries and still cook like you are at home. Weather was terrible so being able to park inside the garage was amazing. Pictures are accurate, no hidden surprises! I would 100% stay here again
What a fantastic experience! There were 4 of us and the house was perfect with 4 bedrooms and plenty of outdoor space for some relaxing nightly conversations around the fire pit. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the house was incredibly spacious, and it was absolutely gorgeous.
The house had everything we wanted from a fantastic coffee bar in the kitchen to a perfect location in a very quiet neighborhood. We could not have asked for a better weekend!

Thank you so much for the very kind words. We so appreciate your review. You were wonderful guests and we’d love to host again.
Our stay at Mc Kinney Morgan House was absolutely the best experience…since our last stay there! Not only has every detail been so beautifully thought out but the kitchen even has a French Press coffee maker! (My favorite)
The home is so conveniently located to SFA University as well as downtown you could easily take your morning run! ( not me, however) So easy for sightseeing.
Mc Kinney Morgan is nestled appropriately in the beautiful historic section of Nacogdoces and I enjoy the view from the rockers on the front porch…with my coffee!
This is definitely my “go too” stay while in Nac!
Thank you so much!
This is the second time we’ve stayed at the McKinney Morgan House and once again, I can’t say enough god things about the experience. The owners are so nice and accommodating – we needed help with something when we arrived and I was not only able to immediately connect with Jim, but everything was taken care of before we got off the phone! The house is absolutely beautiful and is in an area of town that puts you right in the middle of everything Nacogdoches has to offer but is so quiet and peaceful at night that you’d never know how close you are to the center of the city. With the amazing weather we had over the weekend, we spent hours outside at all times of the day just enjoying the backyard and garden – it was another great weekend at a great house. If you ever make a trip to Nacogdoches, don’t miss an opportunity to stay at the McKinney Morgan House, you will not be disappointed! Cheers.
My stay at the McKinney Morgan House in Nacogdoches was truly delightful. From the moment I arrived, I was enchanted by the charm of the house and the warmth of its atmosphere. The property was immaculately maintained and tastefully decorated, providing a perfect blend of modern comfort and historic elegance.
The location was ideal, nestled in the heart of Nacogdoches with easy access to local attractions and amenities. Whether I was exploring the nearby historic sites or simply relaxing on the beautiful porch, every moment felt like a treasure.
The hosts were exceptional, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was perfect. Their attention to detail and hospitality made me feel truly welcome, and I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and generosity.
I would highly recommend the McKinney Morgan House to anyone looking for a memorable getaway in Nacogdoches. It exceeded all my expectations, and I cannot wait to return for another unforgettable stay!
