About this property
Bach11 at beautiful Onaero Bay, so close to New Plymouth ...
Onaero Bay is just a short 25 minutes north of New Plymouth on State Highway 3. Close enough to have a relaxing weekend away and feel like you've come back totally relaxed and renewed.
Our kiwi bach is on the Onaero Domain and borders the estuary of the Onaero River which is not only safe for swimming but has its own private boat jetty to launch the kayaks as well as a whitebait net (in season). We have two kayaks which you are welcome to use (please use the lifejackets supplied).
The bach is comfortable and roomy enough for a family or just a couple wanting time out. The area is very sheltered but for the cooler days there is a wood fire.
There is a master bedroom with a queen bed plus a bunk room which has a double bed, a set of bunks with a double on the bottom and a single on the top and a sofa bed. There is also a rollaway bed, a portacot and a highchair. The fee is for the first two people and any others are an extra $40/night per person.
Almost everything is supplied, including linen (if you use ours) and basic pantry items. There is one spare toilet roll. Just bring what you need for your stay. Enjoy!
The Onaero Beach is a very safe beach and close by; perfect for swimming, surfing and fishing.
There is a boat ramp five minutes drive away and also close by you will find a nice cafe and shopping available at Urenui Superette along with a tavern and fuel requirements. Urenui also has a 9-hole golf course.
New Plymouth boasts many fine attractions including beautiful Pukekura Park, the Bowl of Brooklands where many famous artists have entertained, the Coastal Walkway and Wind Wand, along with Govett Brewster Art Gallery and Pukeariki Museum. Mt Taranaki/Egmont is also not far away for those wanting to explore the bush walks.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
1. Due to other baches close by, no excess noise, events or parties will be tolerated. 2. While we realise that many of our guests own electric vehicles we do not contribute to fuel for those who don’t so appreciate your donation towards electricity.
3. Minimum stay requirements apply during peak times. All linen including sheets, towels, pillowcases, tea towels, duvets etc is available. There is some complimentary laundry powder. Please pop anything used through the washing machine before you leave. You are of course welcome to bring your own sheets and towels and many of our guests do this.
The bach must be left clean and tidy ready for the next guests to enjoy ie. vacuumed and the shower, toilet and kitchen cleaned.
EXTRAS: To assist with excess electricity usage by EVs to recharge, a donation to the honesty box is appreciated . NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house including floors, toilet and shower and do the dishes leaving the Bach as you found it. Cleaning product is available. Your respect of our property is appreciated. Please take any supplies you need for your stay including dishwash & toilet rolls. 01/04/2024 EDIT: With new GST regulations effective 1st April 2024 which will unfortunately be payable by our guests we have chosen to reduce our pricing and appreciate you selecting Bach11 for your next holiday break.

About the host
Hosted by Rodney and Janice
Retired and never been so busy!
Why they chose this property
This kiwi bach appealed to us from the moment we first stepped through the front door. The tranquil bush view beyond the river from the rear deck is spectacular. The Bach comfy and relaxing.
What makes this property unique
Summer scene family fun days and our own private boat jetty and whitebait stand.
