This house was absolutely perfect!!! Even though there were neighbors right next to us (who by the way were very nice), it felt like we were in our own private part of the island. The landscape was beautiful and full of life of all sorts of little creatures. Lots of room inside and very comfortable beds. Perfect place to come back to and relax, after a long day exploring the Big Island. The extra beach gear was very nice and put to use. Already recommended this place to a co-worker who will be traveling to the same area in the next few weeks.

We love our neighborhood because it’s very peaceful and almost no vehicle traffic.We are happy to hear that you were able to enjoy our private garden around our home. Our garden is our pride and joy and we love to hear when our guests take advantage of it. As you know, we have fruit trees and pineapples that are in our garden that are available to our guests to enjoy if they are in season and are ready to be eaten. And yes our home is also relaxing, especially if you sit in the Lanai room and enjoy the ocean breeze. Even though our home is one mile from the ocean it still gets a decent breeze through out the day and night.We look forward in having you back soon and thank you for recommending us to your co-worker.Thank you,The Mendoza Family

West side Hawaii stay

Overall experience was good and home was very clean with most everything we needed for our stay on the west side of the island. We had just left the Captain Cook side of the island and so it was nice to see a more tropical climate. There was a mixup on the check-in time but the owner was very gracious. The home came well furnished and the interior decor was very nice. Kitchen was nice as we cooked most meals in house. Only wish it had a dishwasher. Beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed the back patio lanai. Bathrooms and linens were very nice. There are neighbors nearby but with all the tropical vegetation surrounding the house, you feel like you're all alone (except for the house right across the street). The kids enjoyed seeing roosters and chickens in the yard. It came furnished with beach gear which was nice for kids!Apparently there's a feral hog problem all over the island so the driveway gate has to be closed at all times.
