We absolutely loved our stay here. Very clean and quiet. Stunning views and the dock was excellent for fishing. We will definitely be coming back as soon as we can.
We had a wonderful time staying here. The owner was comprehensive in all her communication and restaurant recommendations. The cabin is so cozy, clean, and very well taken care of, and oh my gosh, the view is outstanding. I would definitely recommend renting here. Carol was amazing from start to finish during the rental period.
The cabin was wonderful with a beautiful view of the lake. Everything was exactly as described. Excellent communication with the host. We would definitely stay here again.
This cabin is beautiful. My husband, daughter and I spent the weekend after Thanksgiving there and disconnected from our phones. I love how peaceful everything was and how you got amazing views from the living room and main bedrooms. The cabin was also equipped with everything we needed. Communication was clear and very helpful. We actually talked about going back during the summer months so we can enjoy the lake.

So glad you had fun for your Thanksgiving getaway Lillian. I hope you do come back in the summer, I would love to host you again. Thank you for taking such good care of my cute Cabin on the lake. Everybody tells me it’s just magical.
This Jewel is tucked away on a lakebank beautiful sunsets away from the world and the noise. I would have loved to tried my luck at fishing. Little cold this time of year and the neighbors was trying to get ready for Thanksgiving . Had a great time making memories here at Smith mountain lake. Don't pass up the opportunity.
Loved our time at your cozy cabin. My daughter and I enjoyed the view, access and accommodations. We absolutely loved our trip. Kitchen, access and living room space were cozy and clean. Thank you for sharing your home. We will be staying again next year. This trip has become our annual destination for summer break.
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful cabin. Everything was just perfect. Great communication with host. The location couldn’t be more perfect! We would definitely return!
Charming place, great cookware and kitchen utensils. Only thing it could improve on would be brighter linens and pillows which looked dayed. Would surely rent again!!!
Beautiful, well-maintained property on a peaceful part of Smith Mountain Lake. The cabin has everything you could need for a visit, with thoughtful details throughout.Owner is communicative and responsive to requests. We will definitely consider coming back!

Jodie,
I am sorry you thought the cabin was overpriced when in fact it is under priced for the market. One bedroom condo daily rental rate is priced from $269 at Mariners Landing, which is around the corner from us. A two bedroom waterfront daily condo is priced at $349. You paid $275 daily rate for a waterfront two bedroom cabin with a beautiful view. You’re the only person in 35 years of renting that ever said my home was overpriced. I even gave you a kayak for no cost because you complained about spending $75 for the kayak rental. Mind you, that the rental cost was fully disclosed on VRBO When I called you to discuss this with you, you were downright hostile and only warmed up when I told you you I would not charge you.
Why I truly don’t understand your poor review is because of the what you sent me while you were at the cabin and I quote:
“You were a 5 star person to rent from. My Son was so happy and already asking when we can go back“
If your son wants to return to Smith Mountain Lake in the future, I hope you find another more suitable housing for you.
What you should know when you give an owner a three point rating it really hurts their business. I work very hard to make sure all my clients have a wonderful time and I went out of my way for you.
The cabin has one of the best views on the lake, is well-maintained and beautifully furnished. I dare say you will not find anything else like my cabin on the lake, especially for the price.
Alicia
The cabin was perfect. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck overlooking the lake and watching the stars at night. The host was very responsive if we had a question.

Thanks Dan and Julie,
I am so glad both homes met your needs. You all sounded like you had a great time, despite the weather. So happy you want to return again. You all are always welcome.
Very nice, clean and comfortable cabin on the lake with awesome views. Was looking forward to a quiet getaway and this place did not disappoint. Communication with the owner was excellent and there were no issues whatsoever. We highly recommend staying here.
first time to smith mountain lake and we had a wonderful trip. location was ideal, cabin was a nice place to rest and relax at the end of the trip. communication with the owners was easy and they were very helpful. we really enjoyed it and will be back!
We stayed in a small 2 bedroom cabin with lake access. The views from the deck were great. We were in a no wake area on the lake so the lake was perfect for kayaking and any powerboats were slow movers.
The house was perfect for us and our small dog. The view from the porch was priceless and hope to return in the summer.

We are both retired and loving it! We were the original developers of Cedar Key. We purchased it in 1983 when it was a operated as resort since the 1970's. We have loved Cedar Key and have been an active member to maintain its beauty and serenity.
My husband worked for the Farm Credit Administration for over 30 years as its Chief Financial Analyst. I was a social worker for years in the District and then worked as a Realtor for 22 years in Northern Virginia. We have three wonderful adult children who love Cedar Key. We made wonderful memories here as I know you will.
Why they chose this property
Amazing views of the lake and mountains surrounded by deep woods. There are very few homes on the lake that have such a beautiful view. The gardens in front of the cabin are simply lovely. My husband worked hard for four years to create this magic for you! The all cedar cabin is very well maintained and always spotlessly clean. Read the reviews, everyone just loves it. It is simply charming and inviting. You will not want your vacation to end.
What makes this property unique
Totally renovated, including new kitchen, bathroom, Comfortable furniture, beds and deck furniture Over sized deck No wake cove, but only two foot ball fields to the open water Easy access to the water front, even drive to your dock Semi- shared dock with boat slip in deep water Beautiful all season gardens lake side that is simply amazing Charming, one mile walk on our country road, surrounded by a hardwood forest.
