Lake View Howell Cottage on Crooked Lake

The Howell's lake view cottage on Crooked Lake was built in 2003, with an architectural feel of the 1920's. Located on a quiet road, it seems worlds apart from city life, but it's within an easy drive to larger cities such as Lakeland, Winter Haven, Tampa, and Orlando.

With a spacious front porch overlooking Crooked Lake, our upstairs Cottage has the feel of a private, luxurious tree house. The open living area floor plan with windows overlooking the lawn and lake makes it seem much larger than 1,100 sq ft.

The living room has comfy seating for TV viewing, reading, or conversation. The dining area and adjoining kitchen, with an eating bar, have lake views. There are two bedrooms, each with Queen beds providing serene comfort. The fully equipped kitchen and laundry room add convenience.

The Cottage has an ensuite half bath, and a full bath off the hallway.

The property and owners were fantastic! They were super friemdly and helpful. Beautiful lake and beach area for swimming, kayaking, fishing and just relaxing. The house was perfect for the 4 of us!

Crooked Lake Cottage Fun

What a fun time! We hung out by the lake, roasted marshmallows. Kayaked. The owners took us on a boat ride. The kids were so happy! Lake sunsets were beautiful.

Marty and Jolene Howell have been enjoying Crooked Lake since childhood and have welcomed visitors to their 1920s vacation rental Crooked Lake Bungalow for more than 20 years. Now they have opened the Crooked Lake Cottage nearby for guests Retired and living nearby on the lake, they also enjoy the quiet natural beauty of birdwatching, fishing and the stunning sunsets.

Why they chose this property

Crooked Lake is one of the most pristine lakes in Florida. As a family destination, it is ideal for swimming, waterspouts and fishing. Crooked Lake offers sport fishermen a challenge for Large Mouth Bass, and Crappie.

What makes this property unique

There is opportunity to observe lots of water fowl. We frequently see Sandhill Cranes strolling past or gliding overhead. Wood Ducks and Florida Mallards are in abundance. Eagles and Osprey sour overhead and dive for fish.
