Retired painter and decorator (restorer of old paintings, statues ...) still passionate (workshop on site to visit), Martine welcomes you to an authentic 19th century winegrower's house, carefully restored, nestled in front of the magnificent Mercurey vineyard (chef de row of wines from the Chalonnaise coast, one of the oldest AOCs in France), with the splendid Romanesque church of Touches as a backdrop. Peace & tranquility on the edge of a charming lane & small square sheltering a historic wash house, in the heart of a charming hamlet overlooking the center of the village (located a stone's throw away). Steeped in history and nestled along the old Roman road "Via Agrippa", this famous picturesque wine-growing village has many amenities (shops & services), a rich heritage (two Romanesque churches of the 12th & 13th centuries, mills , cadoles, typical bourgeois residences, chapels, castles including the remains of a medieval fortified castle from the 10th century ...) and enjoys a literally sumptuous hilly landscaped setting, alternating vineyards, wooded hills & vast national forests (to be discovered on foot or bike via the many trails in the countryside).
