About this property
Bayside Manor: a Classic Maine Oceanfront Home at the Gateway to Acadia
Bayside Manor sits on 12 acres with views of Blue Hill and beautiful sunsets. Our private driveway brings you through a pine forest and suddenly you are welcomed to our sweeping oceanfront lawn with over 200 feet of a beautiful rocky Maine beach. The house is all yours with 4 large bedrooms, a modern kitchen with professional appliances, and several sitting places. Views are everywhere from the wisteria covered pergola patio, a 2nd floor balcony, and a screened sunroom offering sunsets and the sounds of the ocean. On the Main Floor there is a beautiful open concept family room/kitchen with eating nook and two sliding glass doors leading to a pergola covered porch covered with wisteria. There is a full professional kitchen with every appliance, double ovens and a walk in pantry. On the patio off of the kitchen and mud room there is a gas grill and lobster cooker. There is a separate full dining room with expandable table. There is a 1st floor king bedroom with ocean views with a full length sofa. It is large enough for an additional air mattress (we have provided a Queen sized air mattress) or portable cribs! Finally, there is the screened sunporch with is screened on three sides and allows you to enjoy oceanfront living with a cozy fireplace and all the views of the bay. A powder room is on the first floor and don't forget to walk out to the oceanside patio with fire pit! On the second floor there are 3 oceanfront bedrooms with the master bedroom having a king bed and a beautiful reading area around the gas fireplace with direct ocean views! There is also a private oceanfront balcony for 2- the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee away from everyone else. The master bath is HUGE with walk in closet, double vanity, separate tub, and a marble and stone walk-in shower. The other two bedrooms are large and comfy - both are oceanfront. One has a king bed with a twin futon for small families, and the other a queen sized bed. Finally, the upstairs has the second full bathroom with double vanity and another large walk in shower. The laundry room has a full washer and dryer available for your use. It is located on the second floor.

About the host
Hosted by Patrick Anonick
My wife (Robin) and myself (Patrick) have visited Maine with our two (now adult) children for over 20 years. While we call North Carolina home most of the year, we love coming back to Acadia. In 2020 we bought the Bayside Manor as our only family vacation home. Since we are only able to visit a handful of weeks per year, we decided to share it with others.
Why they chose this property
Once we knew that we wanted to buy a home near Acadia, we searched the area for a property that would give us both privacy but also great access to the park and the other benefits of Mr. Desert Island. We decided Trenton was the best option for us as it gives us great access to the island and to the town of Ellsworth for basics like groceries. But more important, the we drove down the driveway of the Bayside Manor and came out of the woods to see the house for the first time, we were sold. We wanted that quintessential Maine house, and this house provides that. We are fortunate to be able to buy a house that had previously just a single owner for 40 years who was able to clear the land for enjoying beautiful views of the water and sunsets in a way that isn't allowed anymore in Maine. It gives us a gorgeous lawn, multiple outdoor areas to appreciate the views, privacy, and convenience. On top of that, the house was newly renovated in 2010 so most everything important in the kitchen and baths is relatively up to date. The house needed almost no work to turn it into a great property for our family, as well as one that is perfect to share with other families.
What makes this property unique
The most unique features of the house include the large property that gives guests incredible privacy, the beautiful sunsets with our unique western orientation, the highly appointed kitchen and master bath which are simply beautiful, and the wonderful screened in porch with a gas fireplace that allows you to enjoy the views and the sounds of the bay 3 seasons of the year. We also have direct access to the bay with our own rocky Maine beach which is perfect if you want to bring some kayaks!
