This cozy cottage was the perfect place for us to get away for a few days of quiet rest and relaxation. The hosts were terrific, and the location was within a short driving distance of everything we needed. Our dog has a great time as well!
The Puffin cabin is exactly as pictured! I could not have asked for a better stay. The cabin was so clean that I would not have known this was pet friendly. My dog and I loved sitting the porch in the morning and the property was great to take short walks on. The cabin is a short drive to the center of Round Pond and New Harbor. I loved this cabin so much that I already booked it again!
Stayed 3 nights, owner was very helpful on recommendations. Cabin was very clean and comfortable. Don't miss Deb's Diner in Bristol. Son really enjoyed upstairs loft. Would highly recommend property to others.
My two friends and our two dogs stayed at the cottage for a long weekend. We had an amazing time. The cottage was a perfect place to relax after a long day out exploring the sights! Also being dog friendly was such a plus and the dogs had a great time.
It was very easy to get to and a very convenient location. We would definitely stay here again!
Three Birds is tucked away on the most beautiful piece of land, and the peace and tranquility were supreme. We were close to all our favorites: Julie’s Farmstand, Granite Hall, Round Pond Coffee, Shaw’s, La Verna Preseve hike (a must!), Pemaquid Beach (another must), and Contented Sole for the live music and pizza. We loved our stay!!
Nice, well managed property. One of 3 cabins in a small, nicely landscaped, dog friendly cluster. The BBQ, fire pits and paths are nice touches. Pamela and family communicate well and are very friendly. Everything is clean & organized.
The Puffin cabin was beautiful inside and out! Everything we needed was accessible and ideal. The view from the back porch at the end of the day was so relaxing and completely unexpected! The location of the cabin for us was ideally situated, close to Damariscotta and Pim
Being from Maine originally, it was so nice to go back to places we used to visit as children much is change, but really not much at all with regards to the way of life and the unfettered sea coast and landscape. It was just so peaceful and relaxing! The 3 Birds was such a wonderful place to wake up in in the morning and return to in the evening Pamela and Joe did such a wonderful job making us feel right at home!
Fabulous property. Clean, well equipped. Particularly loved the porch on Puffin cabin that looked through the trees onto the little pond. Could hear the frogs singing. Peaceful and calm. Lovely in rain or sun.
This property was so clean and peaceful. Lighthouse just down the street, easy to get around to boothbay and other areas. Pamela was wonderful to work with and made cabin #2 very comfortable and everything we needed was provided. Did recommend to my family in boston. Thanks so much for sharing your piece of heaven.
Impeccably clean cabin in beautiful surroundings run by a wonderful host.
Our family of four had a wonderful stay in Puffin for a week while our daughter attended sailing camp nearby. The cabin has more space than the pictures would suggest - the loft is very spacious and safely accessible via the steps, even for young children. The kitchen is highly functional, and the entire cabin tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. Our host was non-intrusive while also responsive. Indeed, we had left a pair of earrings upon our departure - the host, Pamela, not only kept the earrings until we returned a week later, but polished and placed them in a jewelry box!
Four generations of our family enjoyed the three cabins as we celebrated a wedding weekend at nearby Pemaquid Point. Cabins were well stocked and very clean, despite being fully dog friendly. Our two dogs enjoyed the quieter weekend of resting in the cabin while we traveled to-and-fro for various wedding activities. The grounds at the cabins are perfect for extended families. We wished we had more time to enjoy the large firepit area and the corn hole boards. There are two picnic tables on the grounds that are not shown in the listing, and we enjoyed a family breakfast there. Beds in the cabins were super comfortable, and our hosts were very responsive to all our calls and messages. I can't recommend this place enough if you're looking for a place to stay in this gorgeous area.
This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at 3 Birds -- a week in July last summer in Chickadee and this past week in Puffin -- and we will be back next summer! Our experiences have been terrific Pamela and her family have paid attention to every detail in creating a beautiful and relaxing environment -- from the thoughtfully designed and constructed cabins to the tasteful furnishings and appointments. All three cabins look out to a small pond that is home to a chorus of bullfrogs and an open field. 3 Birds' location in Round Pond is ideal for taking advantage of all sorts of adventures and things to poke around and into. Our favorites: Pemaquid Beach, Monhegan Island, Round Pond Harbor, Damariscota (especially Skidompha Book Shop), and Granite Hall (especially for generous scoops of Giffords ice cream every night after dinner!). Or you can do absolutely nothing at all -- just sit on the porch and listen to the birds, the bullfrogs, and wind blowing through the leaves. Pamela and her family are extremely responsive to questions and requests. Everything about 3 Birds is just right. We highly recommend it!

Susan, Thank you so much for this exceedingly kind and glowing review. We greatly appreciate our guests and return visits are the highest compliment. We look forward to hosting you again!
June 30th (Friday) to July 5th (Wednesday) 2023.
My family and I (two teenagers, husband and our dog) absolutely loved the cabin space!! So much thought went into making this cabin a beatiful place to stay!! My teens loved the loft, I loved how the kitchen had everthing you needed to enjoy food in and our dog and husband loved sitting outside on the porch.
We walked LaVerna Trail in the mornings with our dog, a must place to go to and a sort drive to Pemaquid Lighthouse twice for the beatiful coast. Just a beatiful area to be.
The only drawbacks, the ticks. No, seriously I'm not exaggerating. Not even here two hours and we were covered in ticks and we spent the night finding them everywhere in our cabin. Deet spray is must have and additional protection needed for our dog!! We sprayed her down on top of tick prevention meds she is already taking.
Our 3rd night our dog got sprayed right in the face by a skunk right outside our cabin door. I dont think I even got off that last stair before my dog found the skunk. So much for a quick outside pee before bed. That was a disaster being our very 1st encounter with a skunk.
In summary, we loved the cabin such a beatiful little place for family time and the area is beatiful. The owners are good people too!!

Thank you for the 4 star review. We're so glad you enjoyed the cottage and were pleased with all that was within our control. Regarding the ticks, this is the first complaint we have ever heard. It is true, ticks are a problem throughout Maine and early summer and late fall are when they are most active. However, we do employ a treatment service around the cottages and trails, that is all natural. We have found this to be very effective. That said, the excessive rain in June may have impeded the effectiveness, yet again, there were no other complaints. While I have no doubt you carried some in, I can very honestly say I have never found even one when cleaning our cottages or doing the cottage laundry. I am quite certain they were not "everywhere" in the cottage and there were none found when we cleaned after check out. As to the skunk, this is rural Maine and one should take caution. Fortunately, this has been the only guest incident and when we were informed, the next day, we were happy to provided our own personal products to clean the dog and ran our ozonator, in the cottage to remove any residual odor. Our own dog goes out every evening, before bed, and he has been sprayed twice over the 6 years we have lived here. A skunk encounter can happen, but fortunately it is rare and is a risk the owner assumes when traveling with their pet.
My husband and I are in our late 60s, and we were traveling with our twin grandsons, aged 12. Perhaps this property was just not exactly what we were looking for - it certainly was clean and the hosts were responsive in their communication to us. The location is accessible to many sight
I want to say that all the reviews I had read about the property before booking our trip were 5 stars. Because of this, I will just touch on a few things:
-the property description indicated use of kayaks on the small pond on property. When we arrived, the information sheet in the cottage said that due to the drought, there would be no swimming or fishing in the pond. (And based on the level of water, there would be no kayaking either). I think this should be addressed in the listing, as our grandchildren were very disappointed - we ended up renting kayaks on Round Pond
-the kitchen set up was a challenge to me - granted, we go out for lunch and dinner, however, I do like to make breakfast in the mornings, and the appliances and space made that difficult (for me)
-please be aware of the ships ladder to the loft area - Although it was made to be quite sturdy, it is still of a pitch that you would not want younger children, or older adults using it
-the porch was pleasant in the morning and afternoon to relax on, however, by evening, the bugs would make us move back indoors -screens would be a huge improvement, as it is a lovely place to sit
-dish and hand soap is not provided

While we do appreciate the good review, I want to address the point of the pond. While we did state the condition of the pond is not our ideal due to weather conditions, actually the drought was last year and I should have updated that. That said, the kayaks were available on the edge of the pond and no mention was made of them not being allowed for use. Also, we have never advertised fishing or swimming. The pond has never been stocked and it is currently too shallow for swimming under the best of conditions. Our intent was to communicate that ideal maintenance has been impossible given the weather extremes and in the future we would like to make improvements that will, hopefullly, allow for fishing and swimming...i.e. we have hopes and dreams for this part of our property.
We loved our stay in this new and well appointed cabin. So many thoughtful details and super comfy! The property was also wonderful and great for walks and bird watching.
The cottage was immaculate and beautiful! I loved the natural beauty of the surrounding woods, so peaceful and quiet; and so close to some of our favorite places in the area. You will not be disappointed by this little slice of paradise!
The cottage was exactly as described, cute and homey have a bonfire or picnic. It's camping without camping. Take it from someone who does not camp this place was a dream. Loved every minute. The Directions easy to follow. Loved the view and quietness listening to the bullfrogs in the pond was great. Can't say enough ocean just a few minutes away, light house location it was a great place to just unwind and disconnect from electronics but had tv and Wi-Fi if you really need to connect. Extremely Dog friendly place. A few forest paths to hike if you choose. Highly recommend it to everyone. Will definitely keep on list for future trips.

About the host
Hosted by Pamela Felice
Looking for a slower, more peaceful pace and with a desire to become more self-sufficient, we purchased this old farm place in 2017 and never looked back. In addition to building the three cottages, we've been busy remodeling the 1850s home, an ongoing work in progress.
Why they chose this property
From the time we moved here, in 2017, we knew this was a place to be shared. The idea to construct the cottages came through the combination of our dream to move to New England, divine inspiration and a sense that this beautiful property was not to be kept to ourselves, alone. Between the cottages and the future u-pick business, we imagine this place filled with couples and families enjoying the benefits of this land, as we do.
What makes this property unique
A bird watchers paradise, this peaceful, private property begs to be explored; with combination of field, woods, intermittent streams, pond, rolling lay-of-the-land, trails and roadbeds,. You’re likely to spot a variety of wildlife from the cottage’s covered porch, which overlooks the pond and field; to include song birds, heron, ducks, geese, beaver, fox, deer, woodpeckers, eagles, turkeys......or our Border Aussie, Max.
