About this property
Short walk to Downtown and beaches. Winter skiing a short 30-minute drive away.
Charlevoix is known as "Charlevoix the Beautiful" for good reason. Your getaway is less than a mile walk to the downtown area with unique shopping and dining, and Lake Michigan public beach with playground, food takeout and picnic area in the shadow of the iconic lighthouse. Bridge Street, at the heart of downtown Charlevoix, is home to many shops and restaurants, from fast food to fine dining.
There is a short walk from the home to Lake Michigan public access to the quieter Northside Lake Michigan beaches, perfect for a swim, sun, or long walk to North Point looking for sea glass and Petoskey stones along the way. North Point Nature Preserve, featuring hiking trails, disk golf, and scenic access to Lake Michigan is a short walk away.
It is also a short walk to Lake Charlevoix public beach by the historic rail Depot. If you visit in the winter, Charlevoix is less than 30 miles to two ski resorts, as well as a local small ski hill. Charlevoix Cottage North is less than 10 minutes to the Castle, a beautiful wedding venue and tour opportunity.
The cozy downstairs of your home away from home features a living room, dining room which can accommodate 8, and a fully equipped kitchen. Attached to the kitchen is a "mudroom" leading to the large, fully fenced backyard including a patio with a table and chairs and a barbeque grill. The first floor features a bedroom (Queen ) and an ensuite full bath. Upstairs features a twin bed room and queen bedroom joined by a full bath. We have tried to include anything you might need to stay and feel at home.
The full basement is where you will find the washer and dryer.
The backyard is fully fenced for your kids and /or pets. The patio has a umbrella table and chairs and a barbeque grill. There is a noise ordinance in Charlevoix after 11pm. The residential neighborhood where the home is located is quiet.

About the host
Hosted by Frank and Sally Campi
Sally and I moved permanently to Charlevoix in 2011 from Dallas, TX. Sally, who is from St. Louis, MO originally, spent summers up here in a family home. She had such special memories of this beautiful town that we brought our kids up here every summer we could. I grew up in California and when I met and married Sally, I also met and married Charlevoix. We have all been happily married since 1979.
When this cute home came on the market, we purchased it as a project as we already owned a home we love.. Sally owned a custom furniture interior design business in Texas and her touch is evident in the home. It is reminiscent of old Charlevoix, both in location, interior design, and architecture and has been updated to have all the modern conveniences one would expect.
The home where we currently reside with our 2 labradors (you may see us walking the neighborhood) is around the corner from our rental. We are available to answer any questions you might have about the area, whether it be restaurant recommendations, our favorite hiking, swimming spots, or anything else you might need. We can let you in on our favorite lesser known to visitors things to do, places to eat, shop. and explore. We consider our renters to be houseguests and will do anything reasonably possible to insure a fabulous Northern Michigan vacation for you and your family or guests. Of course, we can always leave you completely on your own!

Why they chose this property
Charlevoix Cottage North is located in a quiet residential neighborhood and is walking distance to almost anything you might need during your stay. You will be situated near downtown, beaches, bike paths, restaurants, shops, and grocery stores. The home is also within minutes of the two most popular wedding venues, Shanahan's Barn and the Castle. It is the perfect location for your family or guests in Charlevoix the Beautiful. The home is very close to the house where I spent my summers and I hope you will make as many wonderful memories for yourselves and visit us again.
What makes this property unique
We fell in love with the home the moment we saw it! Had we not already had our home, we would have been happy to move right in post renovation. Now we are happy to share our find with visitors to our favorite place in the USA.
