About this property

Townsend Riverfront Cabin | Hot Tub + King Loft

Coffee in one hand, the Little River rushing a few steps away, steam rising off the private hot tub: that is the morning guests keep describing at River Bluff. This cozy Townsend cabin was made for couples, honeymooners, and anniversary trips, with trout fishing literally out the front door and the Peaceful Side of the Smokies all around.
At approximately 700 square feet, River Bluff is an intimate stay for up to 4 registered guests. Wake to the sound of the water, fish or explore Great Smoky Mountains National Park by day, then come back for a hot-tub soak over the river or an evening of fireflies around the wood-burning fire pit. Winter stays are their own kind of quiet, with the propane fireplace doing the warming, and while snow is not frequent here, the occasional dusting turns this bend of the river into a postcard.

THE RETREAT
River Bluff sits on our family's riverside retreat alongside a few sister cabins, with resident peacocks and goats who wander through on their own schedule. The stretch of riverfront directly in front of the cabin is set up for this cabin's guests, while the broader retreat grounds, roadways, and dumpster area are shared. It is the closest cabin to the parking area, which makes unloading refreshingly easy.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Stayed a few nights
We had a wonderful stay at this cabin in Townsend. It was peaceful, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing Smoky Mountain getaway. One of our favorite parts was waking up early each morning to fish and photograph the quiet river right outside the cabin. The setting was so beautiful and peaceful, especially in the early morning hours. During the day, we enjoyed swimming in the river and tubing with River Rat just down the road. The location was perfect—close to everything we wanted to do, yet quiet enough to feel like a true retreat. In the evenings, we soaked in the hot tub while listening to the river flowing by. It was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. Parker and Oz were great hosts—friendly, responsive, and welcoming. We also loved seeing the goats and peacocks around the property. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway in Townsend with beautiful scenery, we highly recommend this cabin. We would happily stay here again!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Stayed a few nights
We had an amazing stay at this log cabin on the creek! The setting was peaceful and beautiful, and the sound of the water made it even more relaxing. The bed was incredibly comfortable, giving us some of the best sleep we’ve had in a long time. The hot tub was an added bonus and the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. We can’t wait to come back, spend more time tubing on the creek, and enjoy everything this wonderful cabin has to offer. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!

A FEW PRACTICAL NOTES
There are about 4 steps up to the entry, the king loft is reached by stairs, and there is no washer or dryer in this cabin. The river is rain-fed and enjoyed at your own risk; assess conditions before entering and supervise children closely. Quiet hours run 10 PM to 8 AM. Cancellation terms follow the policy attached to your reservation, and we recommend travel insurance for every trip.

ABOUT YOUR HOSTS
River Bluff is part of Peacock Paradise Vacations, a family-run collection of homes my husband, Oz, and I personally love and care for. We want each stay to feel easy, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared, so you can spend less time managing logistics and more time listening to the river do its thing.
For guests looking for a compact Townsend riverfront cabin with a California king loft, private hot tub, fire pit, EV charging, and easy access to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, River Bluff offers a peaceful place to settle in.

We are a family of 4 who love adventure and enjoy sharing some of our favorite places with you! From the ancient Smoky Mountains (did you know this mountain range is the 8th oldest in the WORLD?!), to the gorgeous white sands and glassy waters of the Florida Panhandle/Emerald Coast. Parker is an award-winning mortgage loan originator specializing in helping families start their short-term rental portfolios, while Oz is a "retired" Electronic Engineer, who now spends his days tirelessly working on each of our properties to keep them in great condition! Our daughter Taliesin who is headed to college has been involved in design and decor and our son Zolin who is still in high school just might be the one to answer your message or inquiry. We are emotionally attached to each of our properties (even though we aren't supposed to be lol) and we truly hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Why they chose this property

Choose River Bluff for the soundtrack. The Little River runs right past the deck, and guests describe the same scenes again and again: sunrise coffee in the hot tub, trout rising a few steps from the door, fireflies over the fire pit, and snow turning the whole bend of the river into a postcard. Couples celebrating honeymoons and anniversaries book this cabin again and again.

The layout keeps things intimate: a California king loft reached by stairs, a sleeper sofa in the living area for up to 4 guests total, and one full bathroom, all in approximately 700 square feet warmed by a propane fireplace. The deck holds the private hot tub over the water, the fire pit and charcoal grill wait outside, and a dedicated desk with 250+ Mbps Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet quietly handles the workday nobody wanted to bring. A private Level 2 EV charger sits on site, and the cabin is the closest one to parking, so unloading takes minutes.

What makes this property unique

Private to your reservation:
• The entire River Bluff cabin: California king loft, living room with sleeper sofa, full kitchen and dining
• Private deck hot tub over the river
• Propane indoor fireplace, wood-burning fire pit, and charcoal grill
• Outdoor dining and river-view seating
• Dedicated desk workspace with 250+ Mbps Wi-Fi and Ethernet
• Private J-1772 Level 2 EV charger and on-site parking

Shared with the retreat's other guests: designated retreat grounds, Little River access areas beyond the cabin's own frontage, roadways, and the dumpster area. Self check-in is by keypad smart lock; your unique code and instructions arrive before check-in.

Fishing, wading, and seasonal swimming are permitted when conditions are safe, but all river activities are undertaken at the guest’s own risk. There is no lifeguard, and children and non-swimmers must remain closely supervised.
