This is a wonderful place to stay and we hope to return soon!!! By far one of the cleanest places we've ever been and very well stocked!!! It is exactly as described and the host is great! She adds thoughtful touches too that make the stay even better!
We loved everything about this property! Comfortable, cute, and had absolutely everything. The hosts communicate quickly and clearly, and were helpful with any questions we had. Absolutely recommend for a stay in Townsend!
The house was very clean, had everything we needed, even had the roasting sticks for smores at the firepit:) A very quite, peacful, and relaxing place. Enjoyed it immensely! River was very nice with firepit and chairs. Going down to river can be a little steep for some. Thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, it was so nice! Loved sitting on the porch, watching the birds and enjoying the quite! So relaxing!
Spotless, beautiful home with great outdoor spaces as well. Host was welcoming and very responsive when I had questions. A well stocked kitchen, nice grill, and the hot tub was amazing. The master bed was unbelievably comfortable. Everything about The Little Farmhouse was perfect for our stay!
We have been staying in Townsend for over a decade and this is the best property we have ever stayed at. The house and property were a dream the hosts were so communicative. We will defiantly be staying again.
Our family totally enjoyed the property. Great location and beautiful property with many amenities. The children and adults loved the path to the river where they could tube and the large back yard to play baseball and frisbee golf. The location was close to great restaurants and drivable to Cades Cove and Gatlinburg. It was a wonderful experience and we hope to stay here again.
This place was incredible. Location, cleanliness, attention to details, communication; I could go on and on. We come to Townsend about once a year and this is far and away the best place we have stayed. Everything is just as described. We will be back!!
The house was so cozy and charming. The hosts thought of everything. It was clean, quiet and serene. The next time we vacation in the Smokies we will definitely stay here! Thank you for everything!
My husband and I needed a weekend to ourselves and that is exactly what we got. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially the hot tub. Love that it is on the covered porch so that even though it rained, we still could enjoy it.
This cabin is spectacular. It has been well maintained by the owner and is easily one of the best rentals our family has used on VRBO. Jennifer was our point of contact, and I can't speak highly enough about how professional and helpful she was during our stay. If you want to relax in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains in a beautiful cabin next to a river, this is your spot! We highly recommend the Little Farmhouse On the River!
Great spot nice porch very nice people renting it.

About the host
Hosted by Jennifer
We’re a family who loves the Smoky Mountains and created The Little River Farmhouse as a place to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy nature together. When we’re not hosting, we’re hiking the trails, tubing the river, or cooking out by the fire pit with our kids. We enjoy sharing this peaceful retreat with other families, couples, and friends who want to experience the same sense of rest and adventure.
Why they chose this property
We chose Townsend because it offers the perfect mix of peace and access. Unlike the busier parts of the Smokies, Townsend is quiet, friendly, and surrounded by natural beauty. The Little River flows through town, providing endless opportunities for tubing and fishing. And in just minutes, you can be inside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, at Cades Cove, or enjoying the scenic Foothills Parkway. It’s the ideal place to unplug without being far from great food, coffee shops, and local charm.
What makes this property unique
The Little River Farmhouse is more than a place to stay—it’s a destination. Set on three private acres, guests enjoy their own riverside access with fire pit, a 7-person hot tub on the porch, a swing set and disc golf basket for families, and wide open yard space to explore. Inside, the rustic-modern design blends comfort with convenience, including high-speed internet and a dedicated workspace. Add in the seasonal magic—spring blossoms, summer fireflies, fall foliage, and winter mountain views—and it’s a home that offers something special in every season.
