This was a great find for a last minute trip up to Bayfield. We had a quiet night by the campfire and enjoyed some local spots. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We did have a dog visitor frequently during our stay which was fine but might bother people with little kids. She was a very nice dog.
Simple, very clean and comfortable are the best words I have to describe the cabin. For myself and two teenage grandkids it was the perfect size for a one night stay. The kids had never used an outhouse before so it was quite the experience for them. The cleanest one I have ever been in in my life. Room for two vehicles on the property. Close to the Town of Russell and the awesome beach and boat landing there.
Absolutely wonderful location so close to Little Sand Bay, the marina and marvelous sand beach, and the delights of the south shore of Lake Superior! Very rustic, but super quiet little cabin in the woods.
Four stars because I do wish that there were better 'kitchen' supplies- even a dry cabin should have a dish basin and basic dishes/drink ware for the "6 people" that this place can accommodate- it would be TIGHT for that many- but you wouldn't be spending much time indoors with the towns of Cornucopia and Bayfield so close.
Wow! We booked as a last minute surprise for my Mother in Law visiting from out of the country for her birthday over the Labor Day holiday and it was exactly what we were looking for! Clean. Comfortable. Includes the basics. The location is…AMAZING. Well done! Additionally, the host took the time to leave a local bottle of wine and a snack for us. My MIL felt so special when we arrived. Thank you, thank you!!

Cozy cabin, once you find it. There was a full size grill in the photos, but only a small tailgater in actuality. The fridge leaked water the whole time, which ran under the bed to greet you in the morning. The neighbors were having some sort of party that went very late, and someone’s dog kept visiting us. I realize much of this is out of the owners control; we did enjoy our stay, hopefully the next tenants have better luck!
I was looking for something dog friendly and not very expensive near Bayfield. I'm glad I read other reviews to understand how to be prepared. It was a fun opportunity to pull out all my outdoor gear. There is no wifi and very limited cell service. There is a lamp and a small fridge in the cabin, and a fire pit with a good log supply outside. No running water, but a water jug was provided. I cooked meals over the fire. Outhouse was sufficient. Although I was 'off-grid', there was a lot of traffic on the road, including construction vehicles that drove past the cabin into the evening. So, it was kind of loud/noisy. With all that being said, I really did settle into the space and really enjoyed it. I was there for two nights. Being between Cornucopia and Bayfield was nice. The general store in Cornucopia is really cool. Lots of food, basics and gifty special things. I also made my way to Madeline Island. I got everything I wanted at a good price. Apparently sometime on day 2, the power was cut by the construction in the area. Since I didn't figure it out until it started getting dark, I did not reach out to the host. I just made good use of lanterns and candles. When the host found out that I had been without power, she did reach out to me. I really appreciate that!
Very conveniently close to Little Sand Bay! Without running water, it was a lot like camping, but with electricity and a locked door. The only complaint we would have would be the driveway and parking was extremely uneven. Other than that, it was a cute, rustic alternative to staying at the camping in a tent, especially when you have kids.
We had a great time. Exactly what we needed. Kids had fun. No technology needed! Kelly went out of her way to make our stay great. Even delivered firewood for free!
Thank you so much!
It was our first trip to Bayfield, and couldn’t have found a better place. The cabin is remote while also being conveniently located to the beach. Trips into town are really manageable, and coming back to the cabin is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of tourist season. Make sure to step outside for a starry night and and firefly spectacle!

Why they chose this property
This is an incredibly peaceful property. It’s just far enough from town that you get the peace and serenity of the woods but close enough for it to be an easy trip to go get essentials, check out local shops and more.
