Our private, cozy, rustic A-frame in the Animas Valley awaits your arrival. With its beautiful mountain views, proximity to downtown Durango and Purgatory resort, it's the ideal location for your next getaway. This two bedroom home is perfect for a family wanting to be close to all Durango has to offer or for a couple looking for a romantic retreat. On 3 acres, there's plenty of room to play outdoor games. Our kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials. Come play our Pac-Man game.


This charming home boasts rustic furniture that has been handcrafted using the finest wood from the San Juan National Forest. Gorgeous mountain views right from the front porch. Keurig coffee maker with pods upon your arrival. There are books for people of all ages as well as board games. Smart TV, high speed internet. The kitchen is fully stocked as well. Outdoor gas grill for all you grill lovers. Let this be your home away from home.

Our master bedroom has 2 outdoor balconies for you to have another area to enjoy the the beautiful mountain views surround us.

Nestled between downtown Durango and Purgatory Ski Resort. Approximately 10 miles away from both. You'll find all that Southwest Colorado has to offer is conveniently located very closely to our location.

Staying in this home ensures a parking space for one passenger vehicle. If you need space for a 2nd vehicle, you just need to contact me in advance and I will make arrangements for you to be able to park that 2nd vehicle.

Anything other than a passenger vehicle (ie - trailer, camper, etc) must also be advised in advance. It can most likely be accommodated but in order to ensure a space, you must let me know in advance.

***Please contact me in advance of booking with pets. There will be an additional $25 pet fee required per dog. I'm sorry but there are no cats allowed. Dogs must be kenneled if kept inside the home alone.

***DO NOT FLUSH ANYTHING OTHER THAN TOILET PAPER IN OUR TOILETS. We have a sensitive septic system. Do not flush any wipes (baby wipes, flushable wipes etc) nor any feminine products in our toilets. Doing so will wreak havoc on our septic system and cause you to incur a $500 fine.

***All towles are to remain on site. They are not to be brought to the hot springs or on a hike or used to clean with. If the towels are stained, there will be an additional $25 charge for bath towels, $10 for hand towels, $5 for wash cloths.

***ABSOLUTELY NO PARTIES ALLOWED. Your reservation will be cancelled and you will be forced to leave immediately if this rule is not abided by.

***No smoking of any kind is allowed inside the home. Doing so will cause you to incur a $100 fine.

Spring break getaway

Cabin was easy to find, quiet and cozy! The driveway was perfect for a kid to ride her bike and the loft was a great getaway for some teens. The pacman machine created some solid challenges and memories for kids forced to spend time with parents who grew up on pacman. Host was informative but not overbearing.

Great experience!

Our family stayed for the Iron Horse race weekend, and our boys LOVED this place. There was ample space for them to run around on the property, and we could even see and hear the train heading out of town. It is definitely rustic, and it is not pristine in cleanliness and kitchen supplies, but it was great for our family, very cozy and comfortable, easy to come and go but also quiet and secluded from town, and the communication with the property manager was phenomenal! I have not experienced better and easier communication from any other rental. We would DEFINITELY stay here again!

Lovely little spot north of Durango. Ideal for participating in the Ironhorse classic bike race. Only issue was noisy neighbors coming in late at night. However, I understand that’s not the property’s issue
