Super-Cool Bunkhouse for the kids! Claim the main house for the adults.
Summer Camp includes a beautiful craftsman beach house with a bunkhouse. The main house includes a comfortable great room for hanging-out, a cozy dining nook, fully equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The bunkhouse has 8 bunks.
We like to put the kids and their friends in the bunkhouse and use the main house for the adults. This works out great for both the adults and the kids.
The bunkhouse has a dramatic vaulted ceiling, oversized french doors and craftsman wood paneling throughout. The cottage and bunkhouse are connected by a spacious deck. Summer Camp is two blocks from the beach and five blocks from town. Curl up and enjoy the quiet by the wood stove after a brisk walk on the beautiful beach or hang out on the rear-deck with family and friends and enjoy a barbecue on the gas grill.

FROM THE GUEST BOOK:
LOVE Manzanita and this amazing house! Could not have been better … from the super fun bunk house, to the deck, outdoor shower (my favorite) and sunny weather -- the perfect mini vacation with friends. A great time was had by all! Looking forward to another visit… Scotia, Riley & Reed (Hood River, OR)
Beautiful weather, a stunning home, a short walk to the beach, the cozy wood stove, the bunkhouse, dinner on the deck, bonfires, walks on the beck, good friends, great food, a trip to Oswald West State Park. Thank you very much for the chance to stay in your home. Paul & Shelley (Hood River, OR.)
…have spent several weeks relaxing & having a wonderful time here at Summer Camp in Manzanita. This is our second visit to Manzanita and we just love it. It is still as quaint as ever and has one of the best beaches along this coast, we think. We will miss Summer Camp and the cool decks & bunkhouse where the kids have hung-out a lot! It has been so relaxing here and we've spent a lot of time reading books and playing all the board games -- including a new one my son now wants to buy 'Settlers of Catan'. Lots of walks on the beach, boogie boarding and hanging-out. We've done several hikes and recommend Neahakanne Mountain on a clear day, Falcon Cover and Ecola Stake Park. Lucy, Rob, Rebecca & James (Boise, ID)
We just wanted to say thank you for extending to us your beautiful summer camp at Manzanita...we all fell in love with it! You have such excellent attention to detail and with two architects and a former architect/designer in our group, we were completely enamored!
The set-up is perfect and the beds were the best I've ever slept in. My 8 year old son said to me as I was tucking him in tonight in his own bed, 'I had three nights of sleeping in the most comfortable bed!' (both of our kids slept in the middle bunks while our friends' kids slept way up high on the top bunks.) I guess it's time we get him a new bed... Deirdre (Seattle, WA)
You probably heard me say 'wow' when I walked in the front door here… Cape Falcon is a splendid hike. Bonfires on the beach with s'mores!!! Thank you for sharing this comfortable home with us. Berta (Bennington, VT)

We were a group of 5 adults, 5 kids and a dog. Everything was fantastic! We especially enjoyed the separate bunkhouse for the kids and the convenient 3min walk to the beach.
This was our fourth time at Manzanita Summer Camp. We love the location - so close to town and the beach - and all that this special place has to offer.
We enjoyed our stay in Manzanita! The town was incredible and the access to the beach and town was perfect at this location. We enjoyed the communal living area w the wood burning stove and games. Rooms were comfortable and house was clean. The bunkhouse was nice and clean. My only suggestion would be that the house needs more wine glasses and a serving platter. But overall we enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
I think this is our favorite house and location in all the places we've stayed in in Manzanita. Enough room for everyone to have space but still come together to enjoy games and beach time and movie time. The house is obviously loved and had everything we needed in the kitchen (and a crock pot!) to make dinners (utensils!) and fires in the fireplace as well as chairs & marshmallow skewers for the beach. Everything. Even the teens said this was their favorite trip. The location is so quiet and in a lovely neighborhood and walking to the beach or town was a breeze. We will be back!!
My husband and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect location and home for our stay in Manzanita. Easy access to the beach, the sweet downtown, and all of the activities we had in mind for our visit. Cozy and very well-appointed home. The bunkhouse is so cool! Highly recommend.
This is our second time staying here and it was just as great as the first time! Perfect location- easy walk to the beach AND into town. Very comfortable and great amenities. The host is a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend!
We had a great time at Manzanita Summer Camp. The space was perfect for two families with teens. Great location, comfortable house, and easy check in. We’ll be back.
Beautiful home in quiet neighborhood within short walking distance to the beach. Two flights of stairs to entrance. Well stocked with updated cabin decor. Enjoyed our stay!
Great location. Beautiful neighborhood and house. The only thing that kept this from a 5 star was the upstairs bathroom sink was clogged. Without air conditioning, it was a little on the warm side. This would be a great place to visit during the cooler months. We did have a great time though.
We love this home, it checks all our boxes. Great neighborhood, friendly neighbors, easy walk to the beach (no huge sand dunes to walk over to get there) fully fenced back yard with nice deck that our corgis love to sun on. Very relaxing- we have visited a couple of times now and will definitely be back again next year!
We have stayed here before mainly because of the bunkhouse for the kids and a good place for keeping the dog from roaming. Kitchen is well outfitted along with some condiments being available. Nice walk to the beach and not overly long. Easy walk to Laneda Ave or downtown. Great breakfast at Wanda's in Nehalem and dinner at the Big Wave Café in Manzanita. Manzanita is our favorite beach town.

Wonderful Camp!
Beautifully kept with lots of sample for all. We had 5 people. Used the two bedrooms and the bunk house. Close to the beach. We are returning next year.
Our family has been coming to Manzanita for several years. This property has now become our favorite house, and we will definitely book again. Clean & functional with great proximity to the beach. Well thought out for pets and children. The bunkhouse is fantastic. Heated outdoor shower and rinse station made life easy. Kitchen well stocked with everything you need for a large group. Appliances worked perfectly. Large sink for prep and cleaning. Bathrooms and Showers are top notch. No regrets.
Relaxing great location- linens could stand updating, comforters washed, towels seemingly should be white are gray and frayed- no bar soap provided as with other properties - overall an enjoyable time and fairly clean
We visited Summer Camp with two families. A total of nine people with kids hanging in age from 7 to 18. We had a fantastic stay. The kids all loved the bunkhouse, and being able to stay away from the adults. The built in table in the kitchen fit everyone around it. The location really can't be beat, just a short walk down to the beach. The kitchen had everything we needed for meals. We would definitely stay again with a large group. It was perfect.

About the host
Hosted by Peg Bogard
We grew up on the East Coast enjoying the beaches of New England and New Jersey. We wanted to share our love of the beach and ocean with our children and friends. A vacation home on the coast is the perfect college investment tool that allows us to enjoy our savings tool and share it with others. We hope you also enjoy your time at summer camp surrounded by friends and family discovering what a special place the Oregon coast is, especially Manzanita.
Why they chose this property
Manzanita is a special small town by the sea. This family and dog friendly town makes it easy to relax, slow down and enjoy the coast. We wanted to focus our time at the coast on the natural beauty and time spent playing with friends and family. We spend our time on the beach, on our bikes, on the deck and playing cards or board games. There are a few cute shops and delicious meals to be had in Manzanita, just on a small scale that lets you appreciate the care with which the proprietors have chosen their wares and foodstuffs. There are 4 top quality pickleball courts 2 miles away in Nehalem that we are spending more time at these days. Manzanita is truly a pearl in the midst of the rugged Oregon coast.
What makes this property unique
A great beach, small/quite town, great windsurfing, great hiking, cozy interior, wood stove, large deck for outdoor dining/hanging-out. A special place to spend time with family & friends. A high-quality craftsman home.
