About this property

Perfect single level family villa with spectacular 180 degree BVI island view.

Moana View is the perfect vacation home for families to escape to St. John. The 180 degree ocean and island views are incomparable - the only problem is you'll have to tear yourself away from the deck to enjoy more of the island! The road and driveway to the villa are paved.

Two matching master suites with comfortable king size beds and in-room AC units. A queen size bunk room allows for extra sleeping space for kids. The kitchen is well equipped to make sure you can prepare meals at home while enjoying the view.

The house has air conditioning in every room including the living room and kitchen. The water system is triple filtered including U/V light and is drinkable.

Outdoor space includes a large 500 square foot covered tile deck with outdoor furniture and a BBQ, and stunning view over the BVI! Located on Bordeaux mountain, the villa is in the rainforest part of the island with a beautiful garden and fruit trees to enjoy during your stay.

The flood light on the driveway has a security camera built in that views the right side of the drive and gate entry way. It is used only for security purposes and is the only device on the property.

We are a 15 minute drive to the famous North Shore beaches (Maho, Trunk, Cinnamon), and most other beaches around the island, like Salt Pond, Hansen Bay and Francis Bay. Cruz Bay shops and restaurants are 25 minutes away, Midway shops are 15 minutes and Coral Bay is just 8 minutes down the road.

Best view on St John!

We loved our home in the hills of St. John. The hosts were super helpful and friendly. The view was exceptional from sunrise to sunset. We will definitely book here again!

Up and Away

Lovely home with a well supplied kitchen and wonderfull porch overlooking Coral Bay. The house is secluded but isnt too remote. We enjoyed watching sunrises on the large, covered porch, and visiting northshore beaches, just a short drive away.

Highly recommend

The property is amazing, the pictures give an accurate idea of where you’re staying. Definitely suggest having a Jeep or 4-wheel drive vehicle for ease of travel to the house. The hosts were highly communicative and helpful during our stay. Great home, great location, great times!

Perfection

We just wrapped up an 8 day stay at Moana View and we’re already dreaming about our return trip. This was our fifth time visiting St John and we’ve stayed at different houses across Coral Bay each time. This house was my absolute favorite. All the other reviews were spot on - Lindsey was very easy to connect with on any questions, the house was fully stocked, and a good size for our growing family of 5, and the covered deck and sweeping views were beyond compare. I will definitely be looking to book this property again. It really was perfection.

Great Coral Bay Views!

Had a great week at this property! It’s high on Bordeaux mountain where the views of Coral Bay are breath taking! If driving in the island is part of the adventure of St John, then this is the place for you! House was well appointed with necessities! Perfect for two couples! Common area would be great for kids! Driveway was a little intimidating at first but with 4X4 was no problem at all! Very comfortable home!

Lovely week on St John!

The property was lovely! The view was amazing and the villa had everything we needed - stocked kitchen and plenty of towels and supplies! You do need a jeep as there is nothing within walking distance but if you desire quiet, peace and outstanding views this is a wonderful property. The host was very easy to work with and available for questions, if needed.

Great view

View was great. Highly recommend making sure you drive to the property in daylight since there’s no signage to indicate where the house is, making it a bit stressful to find in the dark. Otherwise a cool spot, good communication with the host.

Beautiful, Well Appointed Home...and THE BEST VIEWS on STJ!!

We have stayed on STJ 8 times at various rentals, in Cruz Bay, Chocolate Hole and Coral Bay... our most recent stay was at this amazing villa, Moana View, this spring. First, the view: OMG, the view is the best we've seen on island from anywhere, including from any road overlook or hiking trail (and after 8 stays, driving and hiking all over, we've seen a lot of views)!! The house itself is lovely, open, airy and chock-full of everything you could possibly need... kitchen supplies, linens, chairs, insulated bags, snorkeling equipment, etc. The setting is so lovely and peaceful. We didn't need anything or have any issues so had no reason to reach out to Lindsay, but she reached out to us to let us know that the landscapers would be coming, and things

Great Villa

Stayed with my wife, brother and sister in law for 9 days recently. The location was great. According to our GPS it's 1015 above sea level and the view is what you'd expect. Cool night breezes had us turning off the AC and letting the fresh air come into the bedroom. The kitchen has everything you need. Having everything on a single floor was nice. The deck seating was very comfortable and we spent most of our time went not on the beaches there. This was our 9th time vacationing on St. John and I would highly recommend Moana View to anyone looking for a place to stay.

Excellent property

First the view! Stunning! When you first walk out onto the huge patio, it is “Oh wow!” The view down the BVI never gets old. The furnishings are excellent throughout the villa. Beds very comfortable. Kitchen thoroughly stocked with everything you could need. Weber Grill on the patio cooks great. I have been going to St John on and off for 38 years and have rented many homes. This is one of the nicest, and most certainly the best view. Lindsey is great to deal with. Working with nice people is such a bonus. Would most certainly stay here again. Thanks Lindsey!

Great house with fabulous view

This was a wonderful house with an incredible view. I woke every morning to watch the sunrise. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was fully stocked. There were beach chairs, backpack cooler and even fins to use. We ate all meals on the deck and had no problems with bugs (late March). The only issue with the house was the screen was missing from the living room door which hampered air flow. Hopefully that will be fixed before it gets hotter. The roads to get to the house were crazy!! You will need a 4 wheel jeep as the house is high up on Bordeaux Mountain, which is why the view was awesome. Lindsey was quick to respond to questions - I would definitely rent this house again.

Wow! Just WOW. The view is better than shown in the pictures. The 2 King beds were soooo comphy! The evening breezes were fantastic and so relaxing. The location is quiet, although you can just barely hear the music from Coral Bay on the weekend (we loved that). The centralized location was great...as we love to just stay on St. John, away from the crowds. Instructions were over the top great, as was the communication. Bordeaux mountain road is especially narrow / tight / hilly, and you would definitely want a Jeep or other 4WD. Don't go the first time at night, like we did....it is a bit difficult to find in the dark, even with the excellent instruction. Super clean and convenient. It was the best...just wish we could have stayed longer.

Perfect vacation

First of all the USVI (and St John in particular) is amazing. Even with some weather issues (rough surf 3 days) we were able to find beaches to do things at and relax. The house is very much what the description says - no hidden quirks. The decor has been slightly added to since the pictures were taken, but very tasteful/minimalist still. Kitchen is super well stocked for a vacation home so we ate breakfast at house, packed for picnic lunches at beaches, and made 4 dinners at home without a problem. The owners shared a BUNCH of beach equipment - we basically moved the lot of it to the Jeep for the week and had what we needed for playing in sand and snorkeling (bring your own mask and mouthpiece - you can rent but for one day it’s as much as buying new on mainland). The owners provided an incredibly helpful guide. We did all the beaches they recommended and several of the restaurants- agree with all of their comments in the guide. Highly recommend Salty Mongoose and High Tide. Also tried the newer Johnny Lime - pretty solid BBQ. While the drive up to the property is a bit challenging the view is a great payoff (like much of St John the roads are a series of hairpin turns). Miss drinking morning coffee or evening drink there already!

Perfect spot on top of the world!

We loved this villa. It was well-appointed, clean, and comfortable. The view from the deck was amazing and it was the perfect spot to lounge and read after a busy day.The villa is located near the top of Bordeaux Mountain but really it's only 10 minutes drive down to Coral Bay. We were glad to have rented a Jeep (really, I can't imagine venturing too many places off the beaten path in STJ without one). The driveway is doable in a car but having 4WD was really helpful after a rain. The only thing I'd change would be adding a screen to the sliding door. We had a nice breeze every night except the last so bugs weren't an issue until then. That last night we spent a lot of time opening and closing the slider. It seems like a silly thing to mention, and it probably is, but even a screen curtain thing (like 25 on amazon) would have been really nice. One of our party walked into the door (eye roll) because we weren't used to it being closed! Also note that Coral Bay is definitely sleepy. We knew this and it's what we wanted but a few of the well-known restaurants there have shuttered temporarily or permanently (Miss Lucy's, Rhumb Line). Several are still open of course (Skinny Legs, Pizza in Paradise, Surf Club Cantina, Sharky's, Johnny Lime, etc) so there is certainly food just not the overwhelming options that exist in Cruz Bay. Overall 10/10 stay! We would definitely book this villa again.

Wonderful stay-Highly recommended

I cannot say enough good things about this villa and Lindsey, the host. Lindsey is a great communicator- answering all questions promptly and thoroughly. She provided a large amount of information in advance of our stay that helped us to make plans before we arrived, such as dinner reservations and grocery deliveries. We lost the first day of our rental because of flight delays and Lindsey generously offered us an extra day at the end of our stay. The villa was so lovely and clean and comfortable and we appreciated the privacy it provided with the bedrooms on opposite sides of the house, each with their own spacious bathrooms and sliding doors out to the deck. The king size beds were extremely comfortable with high quality linens which is a priority for me. We did a lot of cooking at the villa and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed (and our group included two chefs). The covered deck provided incredible views and was furnished beautifully, including a high quality grill. We spent much of our time on this deck- eating, reading, napping, appreciating the views. The location is gorgeous- on the top of Bordeaux Mtn. It is a must to have a jeep or equivalent vehicle to get to the villa. I would add that this would probably not be a good location for timid drivers. But we loved it here, and really enjoyed the privacy, and would absolutely stay here again.

Just Right

Moana View is very high up and truly has one of the very best views on the island. We have visited Saint John 3 times over the last 10 years and this was the quietest location yet. Of course, roads on Saint John are extremely steep but the Jeep had no trouble and Lindsey's directions were spot on. We didn't have any trouble finding the place even though it was after dark when we arrived. The size of this rental is perfect for a family (of 5). We loved that the bedrooms were on either side of the living space, both with access to the deck, which is as amazing as advertised. All of the beds were comfortable, even the queen bunks off the living room. Curtains across the bunks keep the morning sunshine out for teens trying to sleep in. Kitchen items we used and loved were popcorn popper, coffee maker, and griddle. Plenty of dishes, pots/pans/etc. available. Dishwasher worked perfectly. Best extras were the beach chairs, backpack cooler, football, and turkish beach towels. Clothesline with clothespins on the porch were so convenient. I contacted Lindsey about a need during our stay and she responded right away with the help we needed. She also communicated with me when the gardener and others would be there taking care of things. (We were gone for the day but it was nice to be given a heads-up) The welcome folder on the kitchen table (and also emailed ahead of stay) had all the pertinent info and recommedations to have a great experience on Saint John. Wonderful Stay on St. John

This property was exactly as the description stated! It had everything we needed and more. I loved how it was centrally located so we could head in either direction to spend our day. I would definitely recommend renting a Jeep as the road to get there is not easy terrain. We found it no problem and once we got the hang of it, it was not a problem but the Jeep definitely helped. The view was amazing. We loved having coffee on the patio every morning. Thanks for a great stay!

Room with a View

We loved staying at Moana View!! The owners were very helpful and communicated with us every step of the way. They gave us suggestions for everything from the travel process to places and things to do during our trip. We were greeted with a cute little welcome package after our long day of travel. The beds were comfy and the house was furnished with all the essentials. Our favorite part of the house was the view! We were able to watch the sunrise from the comfort of the awesome patio every day of our stay. As a photographer, this place was wonderful! Not only was the view picture perfect, but the outside of the house made for some fun and colorful photo ops, and the little trail around the house was fun to explore. Would definitely stay here again!

I can’t say enough about the helpfulness and responsiveness of the owners. We ran into major travel delays with the airlines and arrived at St Thomas after our car rental company was closed and the car ferry was closed. The owners worked with us most of the day to come up with alternate plans to help us get to the property at St John. We could not have navigated things on our own and we’re so thankful for their help! The house has the most beautiful view from the back deck. I really can’t imagine a nicer view anywhere else on the island. The house was spacious and laid out perfectly for my family ( husband and two teenage boys). The house had everything we needed for the week. Kitchen was very well stocked and they even had a welcome basket for us. It was our first time to the island and the helpfulness from the owners was amazing. We would definitely stay here again!

Paradise on the mountaintop

We were a multigenerational family of four who had been to St John many times; this villa exceeded our expectations. Lindsey communicated with us beginning before we arrived and gave us updates as to what to expect which was great! the home is beautifully furnished and perfectly equipped; whatever I looked for, I found! soap, tupperware, a thermos, beach chairs, an umbrella... All had been thought of. INCREDIBLE view, comfortable beds and great showers. We would definitely stay here again ~ Thank you Lindsey and family!!

Family of 6

Listing was accurate, slept our family of six comfortably. The views from the deck overlooking the east end are gorgeous. Both bedrooms have big door walls looking out to the deck so it’s a nice view to wake up too. We visited Hansens beach which none of us had been to before and all enjoyed by suggestion from the owners. The kitchen was well equipped with all of our needs for cooking. Having the beach chairs, sand toys etc., already available at the house was an added convenience. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, even the drive in felt adventurous! We would definitely rent this property again!
