This guest arrived 45 minutes prior to the check in time. The front desk advised that because it was prior to check-in, he needed clearance from me that housekeeping had completed their work. As you know from this being listed here, this condo is not on the Snowshoe rental program, but I must go through them to assign room keys during the check in process. This 3 star rating seems to point to the bad experience that was felt during check-in and had nothing to do with the condo cleanliness, appearance, etc. Seems like a ding on the checkin experience and with nothing related to the condo itself. If you decide to rent this condo and are arriving early, let me know and I will text you as soon as the room is ready. This is such a premium condo, that almost every night is booked during winter months. So as you are checking in, know that there was probably someone in the room the prior night and the cleaning crew had to get it ready for your stay.

Thanks Ben. It is good to hear that most folks feel like you do about this condo. It truly is one of the most convenient properties on the mountain.

Some things you just can’t make up. This guest has valid points but left out some important details. I agree with the bathroom not being cleaned but there were some missing points and some extenuating circumstances. 1. There was an additional bathroom that was about 2.5x larger than the small master bath that was cleaned and available. So they did have a bathroom available. 2. The first night they did not notify me until after the cleaning staff had gone home – about 30-45 minute drive from the mountain. 3. I was in constant communications with them during this issue. I take these types of issues seriously – as the guest mentioned, “very apologetic”. 4. The guest did not mention that there were 2 major snow storms in 3 days that made travel insane in this area. That definitely affected the ability of the housekeeping to get the job done. 5. The next day after the wrong bathroom was cleaned, they turned away cleaning. 6. The guest wanted 100% of their entire stay refunded, which I was not willing to do. Their refund reflected what I felt was a fair amount for this issue. I have been renting as Snowshoe for almost 20 years and have over 200 reviews with my properties. If you are concerned with this guest’s review and my actions, I invite you to read the others.

I have only 2 things to say about this guest/review. 1. Of the 5 properties I own/manage, I seem to get one guest like this one every year. Their standards were unattainable and they wanted their money back (which I refused) even after I sent housekeeping back out a 2nd time. In addition, the weather was not good as it was raining their whole ski trip. 2. The very next guest after these guys had this to say - and I quote - "We are in and very happy!" So, I am not going to get into a he said/she said with this review. Feel free to read the other 5-star reviews out there and you can be the judge.
