Very well equipped rental. Quality mattress, private parking space, walking distance to grocery store and restaurants and close to Grayson Highlands SP, owner responds quickly.
Superb host and stay! We very much enjoyed our time here and exploring the surrounding areas. This was everything we needed and a delightful home base. We’ve never been to Lansing before and have developed a love for this part of the mountains! Thanks again!
The stay was great. The place was very clean and unique. It's an old storefront property that's been converted to a lodging, and it's on the main throughway in Lansing. There's a great coffee shop / general store nearby - Old Orchard General Store. The owner was communicative, and the check-in / check-out processes were easy. We would book here again.
An amazing stay at a wonderful location! Our property manager was extremely helpful & attentive! Can’t wait to return & enjoy this hidden gem again! 10/10
Excellent for short stays. Plenty of living space. No microwave but the toaster oven, toaster and two counter top burners provided met our needs. The host was easily available and provided clear communication. We felt safe and comfortable.
Didn’t know what to expect because I believe it was an old store. But let me tell you what the property was immaculate. Clean, convenient and everything I needed was there.
The only negative we have is we only wish our stay would have been longer! The pictures don’t do this place justice. The wall full of books in the bedroom was impressive & quite the collection. We loved being able to walk down to order pizza or grab coffee from the general store. Do yourself a favor & get a morning bun if they still have them. The Main Street is decently busy but we never heard it while trying to go to bed.
Check in & out was so easy. We will absolutely be back!
This was a comfortable stay close to town, the host was great with communication and everything was clean! Compared to other VRBO stays, we feel it’s a bit overpriced, for the amenities. We missed not having a microwave because when coffee gets cold, a microwave is the best option. If they would lower the price to around 150-160/night, that seems a better ballpark than 180. Having said that, is not a bad stay, you just feel like you are staying in a renovated business rather than a homey VRBO.
Only stayed 1 night but it was great and we would definitely book there again. Cute town and so much to do within a walk to a 20 minute drive. Luis was a wonderful and communicative host!
If you are an avid fly fisher this is the best place to stay in Ashe county! It truly is everything you need to be cozy on a cold winters day/night and I’m very sure the summer is amazing aswell. Can’t wait to come and stay again!

About the host
Hosted by Luis Durani
I've lived here for over seven years and have spent that time building a homestead where I ranch, farm, and continue learning new skills every day a short drive from the property.
When I'm not hosting, you'll usually find me working with cattle, taking on a carpentry project, or learning something new about life here in the mountains.
Hosting gives me a chance to share the beauty, pace, and charm of this area with others. My goal is to create a stay that feels comfortable, welcoming, and connected to the place I’m lucky to call home.
Why they chose this property
I chose this neighborhood because Lansing is one of those rare places that immediately feels special. It has the charm of a small mountain town, a strong sense of community, and easy access to everything that makes the High Country such a great destination.
What makes this property unique
What makes this property especially unique is its location. You're in the heart of downtown, within walking distance of local cafés, restaurants, shops, and the grocery store, yet the property also overlooks the Creeper Trail Park and the river, with beautiful mountain views surrounding you.
It's uncommon to find a place in Ashe County where you can enjoy mountain scenery, a waterfront setting, and the convenience of a walkable downtown all in one location. That combination is what convinced me this was the perfect place to create a memorable stay for guests.
