Lovely apartment with everything you need! Great location with 30-45 minute drive to other highlights like Saratoga Springs, Lake George, Vermont. Great mother-daughter weekend!
We had a lovely time at the nicely furnished Yellow Door Inn. It was clean and very well stocked. There was plenty of room to stretch out. All of the art throughout the apartment was a nice added touch. Thank you Klara & Greg!
The apartment was clean, spacious (for 2) and very pleasant. We enjoyed the full kitchen, and the grounds were beautiful and relaxing. It was a pleasure to return to after a full day.
My two-week stay here was nothing short of magical. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by how warm, inviting, and beautifully decorated the space is—it truly felt like a home rather than a rental. Greg and Klara have truly thought of everything to make a long-term stay effortless. I was so impressed by the abundance of high-quality linens, plenty of fresh towels, extra cozy blankets for lounging, and a kitchen stocked with everything I needed. One of my favorite touches was the helpful and stylish information board in the dining room; it made navigating the home and the local area so simple. The location is a dream for nature and art lovers. It was such a luxury to step out the back door and meander through the SAW and Cary Hill Sculpture Park properties, or take a quick stroll into the quaint center of Salem. Greg and Klara were the perfect hosts—they gave me total privacy but were incredibly prompt whenever I had a question. Check-in and check-out were seamless. I can’t recommend this place enough and I can't wait to go back in the warmer months.

We stayed in Salem for a long weekend while visiting SPAC in Saratoga Springs. We loved the area as well as the apartment. The place was very comfortable and the backyard was a lovely retreat for us and our dog. Would definitely stay again when we are in the area.
What a pleasant experience to find such a lovely VBRO in the hometown. Nicely furnished, adorned with original artwork and the exterior is beautifully landscaped. Strategically located in the town, we definitely look for availability on our future visits!

Wow! What a beautiful place to stay. All the amenities of home. Will definitely book again.
We enjoyed another great stay at the Yellow Door Inn.
The home and gardens are lovely and Klara and Greg
provide a welcoming presence. We visited many of our favorite places in both NY and Vermont and enjoyed some of the restaurant suggestions made by our hosts.
We will be back!
This place was very clean, wonderfully decorated. Had everything you could ever need. We enjoyed a lovely week. The hosts were super friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend. The location was great for visiting points of interest.
Charming apartment in a perfect location to explore Washington County. Spacious and well

My son and I had the privileged of staying in this beautiful home. There were many lovely details, interesting art, beautifully appointed kitchen, nice amenities in the bathroom etc. A very comfortable cozy place. While there I believe the biggest snow storm of the season happened, owners were wonderful about shoveling us out.
Couldn't ask for a more comfortable and beautiful stay. The owner were very, very nice and helpful if we needed anything. The bed was super comfortable. It's location was in a beautiful area and the property outside was really peaceful with a creek and beautiful garden. We will definitely stay there again. All I can say is book a stay and you won't be disappointed

Very nice cxean older property.
Manager was very nice. Price was consistent with the properry. Older home in average neighborhood. If you like older houses you will love this. comfortable and roomy.
The apartment is roomy, clean and comfortable, Vrbo hosts are very accommodating. We considered many options and knew that we made the right decision as soon as we walked in. We invited local family over; it rained but the kitchen, living room and dining room were perfect for the evening. Will recommend to family and friends in the future.

very clean place to stay, well organized first floor apartment, the owners live on the second floor, we didn't feel them (in a good way). In the kitchen you have everything you need to cook, so better bring your own groceries.
This is our second and longest stay at Yellow Door. Klara and Greg are excellent hosts. The accommodations are clean and comfortable, and there is plenty to do! There is even a bean bag chair which my Grandsons loved. There are some nice added touches such as local fresh eggs, and coffee so you won't have to worry about breakfast your first morning there. Two thumbs up!

Everything was wonderful. It was pet friendly. We had many of everyday essentials in the property. Wi-Fi allowed me to stream with casting my movies and news. We had a fun time driving around. It is very scenic. We went to a bakery, the art exhibit, and two farmers/homemade goods places. Delicious Strawberry preserves at the farmer's market Saturday. It packed a punch. Very comfortable queen size bed. Newer model washer/dryer are in the apt. Hosts were very helpful and gracious.
We stayed in this lovely Victorian house, ground floor apartment. It was so wonderfully comfortable. Klara and Greg provided everything you could possibly need. And they are just the nicest, sweetest people ever. The apartment is in the historic area of Salem. The history of the town was fascinating. The artwork around town was interesting to see. We also took a short walk/hike nearby through the snow. Keep in mind there are no restaurants or grocery stores nearby. We liked the Burger Den (diner food) that was about 12 minutes away. There’s a Hannaford grocery store about 20 minutes away so we cooked at the apartment. We just loved the peaceful nature of the area. Great place to stay and decompress.

Thank you Erin, it was such a pleasure to meet and host you. Until next time!
Staying in this charming house was a truly delightful experience for my husband and I! The house is a duplex with our quarters being completely private on the lower level. The hosts live in the other unit above. We never ever heard them. Ever! Nestled in a picturesque, quaint town, it felt like we’d stepped into a storybook. The town itself is small, with only two restaurants and a sweet community theater that hosts local plays—a perfect touch that adds to its welcoming vibe. We walked to dinner at the local restaurant each night, and also walked to the theater. It was spectacular. The house’s grounds were stunning, with lovely gardens and a peaceful atmosphere that made it easy to relax and unwind. Were we free to enjoy the yard. Our hosts were fantastic, always responsive and genuinely caring, making sure we had everything we needed. If you’re looking for a quiet, charming escape with a touch of small-town magic, this is the place to be!

About the host
Hosted by Klara and Greg Hall
Hi! Our names are Klara and Greg. A little intro on the couple behind that sunny, yellow door. We met while working at a fabrication/design company in Amsterdam, NL. The story behind that is another story altogether.
Why they chose this property
The story behind here and the Yellow Door Inn, is Klara — moi— grew up in the area and Greg did not; he’s from England. When we made the decision to come here, we weren’t sure how long that decision would stretch. The truth is, we’ve fallen in love not only with each other (cornballz) but the house, the area, the people and the potentiality that is THIS. Now we want to share it with you!
What makes this property unique
The apartment is cozy and colorful, with lively plants, artwork and a full kitchen. Outside, you can wine and dine in the patio area, or relax by the babbling brook.
