About this property
Dog Friendly with Private Fenced Yard, close to CSU and Old Town
Welcome to the Funk Casita! Conveniently located within biking distance of Old Town and walking distance to CSU campus and Canvas Stadium, steps from Spring Creek trail and on the Remington St bike route. Enjoy the 2 available cruiser bikes for a quick spin to a multitude of nearby dining and brewery options. Bring the pups and enjoy the private, fully fenced yard and relaxing outdoor space. This cozy 2 bedroom home has a nicely sized fully equipped kitchen if you prefer to dine in!
This cozy Casita sits on a 1/3 acre lot along with our primary residence. The houses are separated by a full-height secure fence. The casita yard has a 6' high fence on 3 sides, and a 4' high fence on the side that borders the alley/parking area. We do have three dogs, Ziggy, Milo & Sophie that may sniff at the fence.
Access to and parking for the Casita is via the alleyway only. The primary residence yard is off limits to guests, and we ask that guests not walk through our yard to get to the street.
Our parking will accommodate two mid-size vehicles but you must be able to maneuver the vehicles to fit on the gravel parking pad and cannot park up onto the grass or stick out into the alley. One big truck will fit just fine, but if you have a big truck and another vehicle, you may need to park the other vehicle on the street and walk down the alley to get to the casita.
If you are looking for a place that has more than 2 parking spaces directly next to the house, this is probably not the best option for you. Parking on Mathews is 2 hour only at all times because of our proximity to CSU, however they do not patrol after 5 or on the weekends.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Brought our dogs along and the fenced in yard was great! Just large enough for 2 big dogs to run a short distance. Kitchen was fully stocked to include coffee and creamer which was a really nice touch. Host was very friendly and engaged with us through the fence when all the dogs were outside. She even includes amenities for dogs such as bowls and toys! We would definitely rent from her again when we go back to visit family.
This was our second stay and it was just as great as the first! This time we brought our dog, and we loved that the home is pet-friendly with an amazing yard for her to run around in. Such a comfortable, welcoming spot—we’ll definitely be back again!
We stayed here for our wedding weekend, including getting ready photos here. Donna was so sweet and brought us flowers and mimosas, she was so accommodating for us having people coming and going throughout the day!
Great little place neat campus! It's perfect for anyone visiting students at CSU. It's within walking distance of campus, restaurants and grocery stores. The owners have everything you would need for your stay.
Our trip to Fort Collins was great and this guest house was the perfect location. Owners were also very kind and accommodating! They had great local insight.
This was a great stay for our family during a work trip. Great WiFi, close park and trail for dog walks, and very comfortable house. Donna is a great host and keeps the place well stocked.
This was the perfect spot--quiet neighborhood close to everything! Plenty of space to spread out for a couple and small poodle. Very comfortsble bed and bedding. Well equipped modern kitchen. Tasetfully decorated. Cute little femced yard. We absolutely loved our stay here! Very private with convenient parking and close to university, downtown/old town, shopping, dining and hiking. Highly recommend!
We had great time in Fort Collins. The casita was a great location for shops & restaurants in Old Town Square & side trips to Estes Park & Horsetooth Reservoir. The house was very clean & Donna met us when we arrived and answered any questions we had. The backyard was fully fenced.
Property is as described and Donna is a very friendly and helful host!! She even dog sat for us one day! Big kitchen and cozy living room space, would stay again!
We had a wonderful trip in Fort Collins and really enjoyed having our own space & backyard sanctuary! Our only issue was finding the place from the back alley, but that was quickly resolved. We would definitely stay here again!!
Wonderful property! It was very clean, had everything we needed in the kitchen and we had a wonderful bike ride around town on the provided bikes. Thank you for a great stay!
I was visiting my son and two year old granddaughter, the layout (and the excellent tea selection) were perfect for having them over to hang out (including the dog)! Location was ideal.
We had a fantastic stay and couldn’t be happier with the experience. Donna was incredibly kind, responsive, and easy to communicate with which made the entire process smooth from start to finish. The house was spotless, well-stocked, and very comfortable. We especially appreciated the strong A/C during a particularly hot summer week. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!
We really enjoyed our stay in this comfortable bungalow. The kitchen was well stocked and the space was perfect for us and our pup.
The owners were extremely helpful with great communication & were very kind to us.
