I stayed here with my son and a friend and her children for a few days. We had a great time with enough space and activities for everyone! We had more than enough towels, blankets, pillows, games, kitchenware. The host was very communicative and responsive and kind. We will stay here again on our next visit!
I loved everything about this property and the host! I chose it for the country location and the leisurely feel of the listing. We came in from out of state to visit family and needed a place where we could congregate. This property had 4 beautiful bedrooms and a large living area for hanging out. I love the airy, spacious feel of the common areas and the indoor hanging swings were a big draw for us. There are so many places to relax and unwind inside and outside.
The host was super friendly and accommodating to all my requests and answered promptly thru the app. Shahanna went above and beyond to make us feel welcome with so many little extras like shower necessities, s'more fixings, laundry detergent and free garden access to herbs and veggies.
I can't say enough good about this property and the owner and would highly recommend it to anyone who needs a quiet get away in NH.
Not a new home, but there was plenty of room for everyone to unwind inside and even more space outside to relax in hammock, swing, or explore. The owners have everything there that you may need for a fun stay.
Spent a week skiing and exploring and loved coming back to this quiet and relaxing home. The house was perfectly equipped for our needs and the host was great.
Wonderful Sunapee area experience ... felt like home and close to so much fun!
We were looking for an extended vacation close to Lake Sunapee but didn’t want anything resorty or congested neighborhoods right on the lake. We decided we wanted to spend time in a bit more rural setting, away but close, homey with good nature and energy. Booking online sight unseen is always a gamble and we completely scored with this property.
The home fit squarely in the quaint rustic rural space we were looking for. We both felt very at home in this house. Very comfortable, good energy, and a very relaxing home to spend time in. The master bedroom is relaxing and spacious with a tall vaulted ceiling. In the evenings we often sat out on the front deck, looked at the beautiful landscape from perched up on the hill, listened to the birds and frogs sing their bedtime songs, and caught glimpses of fireflies here and there.
The property was great too. There are several distinct areas of yards, one is a beautiful meadow uphill from the home. Our small dogs loved playing up there and cruising the other yard segments. Some days we picked and ate berries from several patches on the property. It was also fun having morning coffee on the deck and watching the wild turkey chicks be escorted around by their parents. We’re not city folk, but this property has so much that you otherwise would need to drive to experience. The host lives in a different building on the property and we didn’t see her around much (works a lot elsewhere I gathered). It was very comfortable with her there … very respectful of our privacy and happy to help if we needed. An added bonus … almost no cars passing on Birch Hill Rd and no noise or light pollution!
Driving to Sunapee was easy. There we enjoyed the beach, park, hikes, and a historic (public run) farm w/ organic produce available at the farm stand. A couple of day trips to to Lake Winnipesaukee were a pretty easy drive and fun as well. Finally, we also took a few short drives to what turned out to be a quaint downtown Concord for great food and a little shopping. This was a great secluded get away that was close to quite a few regional features.
I have written only a handful of lengthy reviews in my life… specifically when I found my experience was memorable in a way I didn’t expect. We loved staying at Birch Hill and look forward to staying there again the next time we look to spend time in the Sunapee area.
