Imagine your own private retreat, close enough to walk to the Mission of Santa Barbara and yet when on the acre property you will feel like you are away from it all in your own private Shangrai Lai. The Frank Lloyd Wright inspired design maximizes the enjoyment of the sprawling one story 3000 sq feet house. The house embraces a spectacular solar heated pool and backyard patio from which you may fully relax in the fantastic Santa Barbara weather. The mottled black bottom pool is like a "Matisse" painting adding to the ambiance of the beautiful yard.

Rental rates do not include local bed taxes. There will be an additional 16% owed on the room rate for your stay so you must provide that directly to the owner who is registered and files those fees with the county of Santa Barbara. That only will apply if it is a short term stay of less than 31 days.

Peacefully sleep in the quiet setting. Those who are early risers will not disturb those who want to sleep in as the bedroom wing is at the opposite end of the house from the kitchen living and dining areas.

Two gorgeous fireplaces, one in the main suite. The second is a striking cathedral ceiling high edifice in travertine accenting the unique atmosphere of this incredible home.


Access your entertainment apps on the 77 inch Large screen TV and with the cable TV in the living room. Cox gigablast the highest local speed available everyone can stay connected. TV’s in all bedrooms as well. Plenty of space to work from home if needed.

We are blessed with beautiful weather in Santa Barbara. For the rare very hot days, air conditioning is provided in three bedrooms and kitchen.

Santa Barbara the 'American Riviera': In Santa Barbara you can hike in the mountains and swim at the beach on the same day! This property is located on a beautiful tree filled acre property with views of the mountains. Just a short walk to the Mission and the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden. Walk to downtown Santa Barbara through Rocky Nook Park and distinctive Upper East neighborhoods. The beach and Montecito are just an easy 10 minute drive. Santa Barbara offers a wealth of cultural and athletic activities from kayaking, windsurfing, whale watching, fishing, biking, golf to local theater, museums and cultural events.

Please be advised that this property is to be used only for the guests on contract and we do not permit large gatherings or more than four cars at any time at the property.

The pool is typically heated to a comfortable temperature by a rooftop solar heating system May to November (70-85 degrees). Heating the pool with gas in the winter or shoulder seasons can be arranged with a $100 a day additional fee arranged in advance, not needed in summer. The jacuzzi is heated on demand and is provided with booking.

There is an electrical plug for plugging in an electric car in the carport. Please notify us if you wish to do this in advance. There would be a $7 a day extra charge for electricity.

This property is permitted for short-term stays with the county so book with confidence. For short term stays permitted for 6 adults plus children total 8.
