This was the perfect spot for a getaway with my husband and daughter! The view is wonderful and it’s close enough to everything without being right in the city. It was clean and quiet!
We met longtime our friends to celebrate wedding anniversaries. The cabin was a perfect place to stay. We enjoyed having an outdoor fire in the evenings while looking out on the lake and catching up on old times. The location was great, we toured the Leinenkugel Brewery one afternoon, went to the Withee Farmers Auction one morning and had a delicious dinner at the nearby Supper Club. The cabin was very clean and stocked with everything we needed.
Small, but worked for the two of us. Only two complaints...ants all over the back yard - couldn't enjoy sitting without them crawling on us. Second, there was no walkway to the front of house from the back; so, when we locked doors to go fishing for the day, we had to walk through weeds and dirt to get to front to open doors and to get to back of house. Having a usable lock on back door would have been divine! Thank you for having well-stocked kitchen and bath supplies
Perfect cabin for a couple or small family. Boat landing is right around the bend so made it very convenient to bring a boat. There’s a nice sandbar near by and had some great fishing for walleye and smallies. The property’s boat dock on the other hand could be improved as it’s very small and high off the water making it difficult to tie off to, but did the job. Inside of the cabin was very clean and well decorated/remodeled. Gave 3 stars on cleaning because the outside patio area and all the outdoor chairs were covered in spiders/spider webs.. yes it’s rural Wisconsin, but a little fresh clean up before arrival would have been appreciated. Would book again.
The listing is fairly accurate and it is what you expect.
The dock is very small and hard to tie off to. My small boat hung well past the edge of the dock and was exposed to waves from other boats. It was fine, juts not ideal. Rocks on the shore line make it so you have to tie it back from shore a few feet. Plenty deep at end of dock, just hard to tie to.
Close to restaurants and "Party Island" which can be quite fun for all. Nice, clean water, a little green on the shore, but not bad at all. Sand bottom, but no beach.
I am happy to report that the A/C works very well and we were thankful for that as the feels like temp the first day we were there was 101 degrees. Wissota State Park which is very close to this property provided us with numerous and enjoyable hikes. This park offers many hiking trails and mostly short trails which we appreciated. This property is located on Little Lake Wissota which is meaningful if you want to rent a boat so be aware of that. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking at home. The owners were attentive and answered our few questions in a very timely manner.
We enjoyed our stay here very much and came away with two negatives: this cabin has very musty air and the mattress in the bedroom near the bathroom is very soft. That being said, a musty smell is to be expected for a small cabin on a lake. As you can see from my rating, it did not deter from our enjoyment.
Property was as described. Slight musty when entering but it cleared out right away. Neat and tidy on the inside. Enjoyed the fire pit with comfy chairs. Small wildlife was plentiful and enjoyed that while outside or watching out the slider if in the house. View of lake from bedroom window when waking up was lovely.
Outside has some wear and gutters were full. Nice touches like coffee supplies and shampoo in shower. We did not have a boat but if you did, the dock would be great. The stairs to water were solid and safe.
With only a love seat, an extra barrel chair or something to relax in would be good. Beds comfortable. Close to small park and a great restaurant just next door.
