Disliked: Check-in, communication
Not a lot of communication and the place is not that clean, it’s unkept. Washer is used for other suites, so Dora comes and goes through the home to use the facilities. Didn’t really bother me just surprised me a few times. Had to figure out the internet myself but did update there book for the next guest. The home is beautiful to bad they don’t upkeep it. The location is good, but further from the beach than indicated. I love walking so that did not bother me. If you have walking issues this is not the place for you. Hard to get hot water in the second bedroom. The pool was nice but is shared with other guests and window coverings do not allow for privacy while others use the pool.
I couldn’t picture where it was as I’ve never stayed in Bucerias before. It took a minute to get my bearings. Everything you need is within walking distance. We used Uber to go further. Air conditioning Very nice to have. We stayed in bottom unit and pool was right outside our door. It is shared with renters above. We had no issues. Felt safe at the rental and anywhere walking. The area is beautiful

Nice place
Very nice property very close to the large supermarket. The kitchen is very well supplied. Drinking water from the taps is a pleasant surprise for Mexico. The two pools were used regularely. We had 8 adults and had lots of room. My only suggestion is some shade like umbrellas for pool side in late afternoon as the sun gets intense then and no where to hide from it out side. All in all I highly recommend this property.
There was an ongoing issue with the pool that took an unexpectedly long time to resolve. While the owner did communicate when we brought it up, we realized how difficult it can be when a host is not at all local. We could not use the pool for roughly half our time there,The house was quite nice and was very clean and well equipped. The cleaning lady will pop in unannounced to do laundry from other units so if you choose the main floor be aware of this.

Beautiful home in a great location ideal for families
We loved this beautiful house! The en suite bathrooms and space make it ideal for traveling as a large family group. The location is near groceries, restaurants, the beach, and bus/taxi pick-ups. We would stay here again. With the benefit of retrospect, there are a few things we wished we'd thought about: the pools aren't heated and were so cold that even my swimming-obsessed six-year-old couldn't spend more than a few minutes in them no matter the time of day or outside temperatures; we didn't have enough linens for all of the beds (one of the master bedrooms was missing a fitted sheet); we wished we'd arranged for more frequent housekeeping because all of the trekking in-and-out dirties the beautiful white floors quickly and none of us really wanted to sweep or mop on our vacations and the way the housekeeping was timed, they did not return after check-in until the day before we departed. It's also worth noting that even though the stated check-in time is 3pm, the housekeepers did not finish with the property and depart until 5:20pm, so don't necessarily count on being able to nap or really rest immediately after traveling. My parents who traveled with us were also unhappy with the quality of the clean in their bathroom, especially with lots of debris and trash in the floor of their shower. All of the towels and other linens also were only about 50% dry when the cleaners departed, so we had to rehang them to get them dry ourselves, which isn't a big deal but was surprising to discover on our own (we wished the housekeepers would have mentioned it). All of those hiccups considered, we would stay here again and recommend it to friends traveling to the area because all of the pros definitely outweigh a few cons that did not at all affect the overall quality of our trip or daily enjoyment of this well appointed and lovely home.

Hello Chelsea,
Thank you for taking time and giving us the feed back.
I have spoken with staff and discussed your concerns.
Regarding linnens there was a general shortage of propane as supplies were directed first to large hotels and restaurants. The housekeeper was not fully able to complete turn around as previous guests had left that morning. There are extra sets of linnens and perhaps the one sheet you mentioned was an oversight.
The swimming pool is normally not heated as the weather here in Mexico is typically warm. However a few cool nights can make water temperature nippy.
None the less please accept our apologies. We look forwards to hosting you in the future.
Everything went as planned. It was a great place. Everything was well furnished five star.

Close to major grocery store
First, where it shows on VRBO and it's real location are a bit different. It's actually not as close to the beach as it shows and is only a block away from the main highway. House is large and well decorated, however, the dishwasher requires maintenance as was moldy when we arrived and never cleaned the dishes properly. Bring a knife sharpener as knives are dull. On the plus side, the kitchen was well stocked with lots of pots and pans, cutlery, plastic containers, spices etc which was a real bonus. I would also suggest putting room darkening curtains in the second bedroom as the lights to illuminate the walkway to the penthouse are very bright leds and are on all night. I hung towels to try and darken the room which didn't work that well. A little drain maintenance in the bathrooms hopefully will be done as I left the drain cover off to show they need cleaning.
All in all, the place was nice but a little far away from everything for our liking.
Lovely property. Pool guy comes regularly, so pool and yard are spotless. Location is amazing! Close to restaurants, bars and safe neighbourhood. Check in was a bit iffy, as no one was there to greet us (as promised) and we did not have wifi access to message the host as requested, so had to use our data from Canada $$$. Eventually the señorita arrived with the keys. Can be scary for first time renters in VRBO or people who aren’t familiar with this area of Mexico. Thankfully we are. Also, good idea to leave the house information booklet where it is readily available… took us a few days to find it and so we just had to wing it when it came to details about garbage/recycling etc.
We had an amazing stay in this lovely home. The owners' were responsive to our needs and request. Dora the gal in charge of making sure our place was neat and clean was amazing. She should be the property manager. She was amazing and made our stay so comfortable, we felt well taken care of.

Great place for a group!
With 10 friends for 10 days we found the space perfect. We had enough personal space and were also able to gather in different places including outside at the top floor pool or main floor pool, and could all sit comfortably in dining room for meals when we ate in. Bedrooms and closet space (no closet in 1 bedroom) were spacious and very clean. Bathrooms / showers also comfortable, spacious and clean. Being about 4 blocks from the ocean allows you to get nice walks in everyday and enjoy the town. Marco responded quickly to our questions and is very friendly.
We would definitely come back.

Easy living inside a Santorini piece of art...
This magnificent casa was perfect for our multigenerational family of nine. It was not only spacious, comfortable, and functional but a work of art with enchanting cupolas in almost every room, waterfalls in both pools, and wonderful outdoor spaces.
We enjoyed exploring Bucerias and all the neighborhood had to offer. Beto, at the corner restaurant/store, put up an outdoor TV so we could watch the Rosebowl in Spanish with an accompaniment of rap music and street sounds and smells. A magical experience for our older grandkids! The beach was wonderful as were all the people we met.
We hope to make a stay at Casa Jeanette an annual event now.
PS: The casa kitchen is well stocked including - to my delight - a coffee grinder.

Perfect accommodations and great location!
The house was perfectly sized for our group....two couples and three singles...and well maintained. Nicely decorated. Kitchen is well appointed. Pools upstairs and down but the beach is also within easy walking distance. And the property is only a block off the main drag making it easy to catch a bus to anywhere you want to go. Grocery stores, restaurants, bank, et al are all within easy walking distance.

Nice House with issues
We stayed at Casa Jeannette for 1 week and the house itself was nice and good location, however there weee some issues. Main house fridge freezer was broken and taped up when we got there on Saturday and although eventually a repair person showed up it was not fixed and leaked several times over the week. In addition the linens appeared soiled and some had large stains on them. Really enjoyed the 2 pools but the one in the loft needs cleaning more often due to bird issues.

Thank you for having stayed with us and we appreciate your comments.
The fridge was ordered on Monday and May 7th and has now been delivered and installed. It appears that the previous guests broke the door and we could only replace entire fridge as a replacement door was no longer available.
I will look into the stains you mention. I do not believe they were dirty but it is possible that they might have been stained and the housekeeper did not notice after washing.
We will ensure that these items are addressed immediately for the enjoyment of future guests.
Thank you again for your comments.
Best regards,

Beautiful house and great area
10 of us stayed in this house for two weeks and it was beautiful! We rented the house and loft and enjoyed everything about it. Marco was in contact with us whenever we needed to talk to him and was a great help. Repairs were done quickly if needed. Grocery store is one block away and corner store is even closer. Laundromat is right down the road also. Kitchen, dining and living area were large enough to accomodate all of us .
Pools and gardens were tended regularly. Maid came probably 5 times while we were there but never left enough clean towels or face cloths. That was our only complaint. Other than that we had a wonderful time. There are so many restaurants and bars nearby we had no problem entertaining ourselves. Love this area!! Loved the house!!

The Perfect Home Away from Home
I have had the pleasure of staying at Casa Jeanette twice, once in April of last year with my boyfriend, and again with his extended family in January. Both trips have been wonderful for a number of reasons, and we would highly recommend the home to anyone interested in staying in the Bucerias area.
Firstly, the house itself is stunning, and so thoughtfully designed. Each room is decorated with unique paintings, hammocks, comfortable beds and generous bathrooms. As a group of 9, we were so impressed with the number of showers that made freshening up after a day at the beach a breeze!
Speaking of the beach, Casa Jeanette is only a few minutes walk to the beach, and has a gorgeous view of the water from the rooftop pool/lounge area. We found the beach to be clean (no litter or seaweed which we’ve experienced in other parts of Mexico and the Caribbean), and not too busy. If you prefer complete privacy though, or fancy a midnight dip under the stars, the two outdoor pools in the home are great!
Another aspect of the home which stood out for us was the open-concept kitchen and living room area. It was so spacious and bright (from the four sliding glass doors), that it quickly became the central meeting place for everything from breakfast on the barstools to games on the huge granite table, and movies at night on the couch. There are local markets on Wednesdays and Sundays that you can walk to and pick up fresh fruits, vegetables and other farmer’s market goodies to prepare meals with. For going out, we recommend Karen’s beachfront restaurant/bar for an unbeatable view, and La Negra for really cool vibes (both in walking distance).
Complimenting the beautiful amenities at Casa Jeanette is it’s host, Marco. His extensive knowledge of the Bucerias and greater Jalisco area was obvious, and he gave us great recommendations for bike routes to cycle, and cool bars and shops in the nearby surftown of Sayulita. His warm personality set us at ease, and made us feel well taken care of on both of our stays.
Muchos gracias Marco and looking forward to staying at Casa Jeanette again!

Perfect Bucerias Stay!
Casa Jeanette is an amazing house!! Whether your party is large or small, this rental property has it all: inviting and comfortable, lots of living/dining room space, nice bedrooms, two small swimming pools, and a short walk to the beach, restaurants and shops. The owners are very nice and very helpful. It’s clear that they enjoy Bucerias and the surrounding area as much, if not more, than their guests. Casa Jeanette is a great choice of lodging if you’re interested in visiting Bucerias or anywhere else on the Riviera Nayarit. It’s just a beautiful spot!!

Beautiful house, great location, no local property manager
We vacation in Mexico every year for an extended amount of time, and have had several rental experiences in Bucerias and have never quite had an experience like this. Casa Jeanette is a beautiful house with so many charming details and it is thoughtfully designed, laid out, decorated, etc. We enjoyed the beautiful gardens and the rooftop apartment and palapa. The owners have kindly stocked the house with games and entertainment. It has a great location and has enough space for many visitors (at our peak we had 6 children under the age of 6 and 5 adults). Unfortunately during our stay we had multiple maintenance issues that suggested lack of attention to the house and the owners response was "well this is Mexico". As each problem arose, the responsibility of getting it fixed often fell on our lap (coordinating with local maintenance personnel and being available to let them into the house). Our perspective is that these issues are easily avoided or could be fixed on a shorter time frame if there was a local property manager. Some of the larger issues that we feel future traveler should about: upon arrival we had no warm or hot water (it took about five days to get fixed); we went 2 weeks without A/C (the house is advertised as having AC but only the master bedroom and the loft have it); we went those same 2 weeks with 2 broken ceiling fans and 1 broken floor fan- so only had 3 fans in the entire house; the house ran out of water twice; upon arrival the pool was so dirty that we did not see a beautifully tiled turtle design on the bottom of the pool until the 3rd day when the pool guy showed up; and finally we had rats in the house on a daily basis. We were the ones buying traps, catching the rats and throwing out their bodies as well as cleaning the rat feces in the morning. We stayed in the house for over three weeks, which afforded us an opportunity to experience more issues than might normally be experienced in a shorter stay. That being said, the house was great and the owner was in a rough position trying to coordinate repairs and communicate with local personnel from his location in Canada. It's a great house - but it's our opinion that the presence of a local property manager would mitigate or prevent many of the issues we experienced during our vacation. Potential issues are not being addressed proactively and maintenance problems are taking an extended amount of time to overcome.

Family of 8, Christmas 2013
We stayed at Casa Jeanette for two weeks, our Christmas 2013 family vacation. Had a wonderful time, the house is beautiful and perfectly sized for our family of 8, with 6 adults and 2 big teenage boys. Marco has decorated and outfitted his home very nicely and is a wonderful host, very quick to respond and do everything he can to help make your vacation special. The house is well taken care of with frequent housekeeping, pool and gardening services. The water filtration system was a treat, had no issues drinking the water and it tastes great – so nice not having to haul water from the store. The house is well located, an easy walk to the beach and to downtown shops, restaurants, etc. Stop for the local bus is very close, for trips in Puerto Vallarta, large grocery store just down the road, or for day trips to small towns north of Bucerias. There is a taxi stand at a resort located a few blocks from the house, so taxis are never far.
The loft area is fantastic, the bedroom itself is well equipped and decorated, like the rest of the home. Has a large bathroom with a fantastic shower. A second pool, an infinity pool, is located on the loft floor. Loft has a fantastic view, is great for sunset happy hours. The second fridge on the loft floor came in handy.
We had an absolutely fantastic vacation in Bucerias, Marco’s house was a big part of that, we thoroughly enjoyed the outside and inside space. Bucerias was a perfect vacation, we hope to return to Casa Jeanette.

Wow!! what a great place!! Casa Jeanette is paradise in Mexico. We had our best vacation ever there. This is a beautiful house located just a couple of minutes from the beach. It's also very close to down town Bucerias and the local convenience store (for groceries and supplies) You don't need to take a taxi because everything is so close. The house itself is very clean and professionally decorated. We never had to worry about the water because of the multiple and extensive water filtration systems. The upstairs suite has a great infinity pool that over looks the picturesque street and beach. the owners were very helpful giving us information about local restaurants and places to visit. We stayed for a week and didn't come close to seeing all the wonderful things to do and see in Bucerias and Puerto Vallarta. We can't find one negative thing to say about this place. We had such a great time and will definitely be back soon. Thank you Casa Jeanette for an awesome vacation!!!
