This is a large beautiful place to share all things Southport with your family!! Amy, our host was very accommodating and easily accessible all week. We were blessed to have great weather to spend time outdoors-reading, resting, sipping wine on the 2 deck’s looking out to Mark Island, hanging out on the dock, kayaking, swimming, exploring many
other spots on the island!.
We can not wait to return to this place! It was the perfect spot to stay with our young children, the beach areas were perfect for exploring and it was a short drive to BoothBay harbor. The house set up worked great to have the kids in the living room while making food in the kitchen and the view from the living room of the ocean is perfection! The host was very responsive and helpful before and during our trip - highly recommend!
Really enjoyed our stay! The view from this quintessential Maine home cannot be beat. It's breathtaking. This is the type of home that you can feel the history and the years of family love. We loved Southport and the surrounding area. It's exactly what I wanted for our summer vacation.
The house overlooks the water and had everything we wanted right on the grounds. The two decks, outdoor benches and the living room/dining room were wonderful places to eat and relax with our friends. We had fun Kayaking and walking around the cove and also to the beach front. The location was great and the host was super helpful too.
We loved it. The property is gorgeous - the outside spaces, which is what we primarily look for - are so nice. Sun on the decks and a lovely lawn to lounge on over the water. We didn't take as much advantage of the boats as I expected us to, but we hope to come back another time to make up for it. The classical music collection was an unexpected treat and we enjoyed exploring the various cassettes every night after we came inside while we played board games or just hung out. It's a camp inside, with a campy feel, so not for someone looking for something more than that, but for us - lovely and sweet.
Don't stay here unless you can find a way to pry yourself away from this magical place at the end of your stay. Simply put it's everything you want and expect in an old coastal Maine house. Owner is enthusiastic about the place and excellent at letting you know everything you need to about location and surrounding area. 100 out of 10 would stay here again. Just for information this is an OLD house which is what we wanted and hoped for. The floors creak a little and the doors can be tough to close but that's the exact charm we wanted. Good luck leaving that roof top deck...best spot in the house.
