Great Pond Sunsets - A Classic Camp: Pet Friendly, Kayaks, Dock
Enjoy a front row seat to beautiful sunsets over Great Pond from your private camp and dock. This rustic cabin was one of several belonging to a former private community known as "Log Haven".
Cozy and quaint, there are 2 bedrooms on the main floor and 1 bedroom in the loft area. (This upstairs bedroom is appropriate for older kids or healthy adults, as it has a pull down staircase.) Linens (sheets, blankets, towels, beach towels) are included - if you'd like to bring your own, let us know and we will waive the linen fee. New mattresses in 2022.
A full kitchen, full bath (stall shower) and large great room round out the living quarters. Filtered well water inside the camp. Outside, enjoy a small deck on the front of the camp, your own private dock, a charcoal grill and 2 picnic tables. We provide 2 kayaks, paddles and basic life jackets.
Entry into the lake off the dock ladder lets you enjoy swimming in the rock and sand bottomed lake. No weeds around here! Enjoy fishing, boating, swimming and kayaking on Great Pond, the largest body of water in the Belgrade Lakes chain. Your well behaved and leashed dog is welcome - please respect neighbors and clean up after your pooch!
Easy 15-20 minute trip to Waterville or Augusta for shopping, groceries, post office and entertainment like movies or mini-golf. The camp offers a private mooring ball for a boat - please plan to use the kayaks to transfer. Come enjoy the call of the loons and relax at the lake!

Cozy camp just as advertised with a great dock for watching sunsets and jumping off for a swim. Perfect location for exploring the lake in kayaks, too.

My family and I spent a long weekend here. It is a very charming cabin right on the water. The area is beautiful and the hosts are very helpful! I highly recommend staying here.
Our family of 4 had a wonderful week at the lakefront Summer Camp on Great Pond. The camp is perfectly located and had all the essentials for our stay and the communication with the property owner was timely and clear. I would recommend this camp to anyone looking for a quite vacation in the Belgrade lakes area.

Waterfront cabin with water views... literally steps outside the door. The "pond" was very large and clean. Worthy of bringing a power boat for skiing, etc. Quiet, relaxing. Simple cabin with all the necessities and comforts. All we needed to bring was ourselves, our dog, and groceries. Host was terrific.

Thank you for you review! We are so glad you enjoyed your week!
Rustic Pines location can’t be beat, plenty of chairs to watch the sunset from Hatch Cove, water is shallow enough to stand and swim but mooring can easily handle your own boat. The cabin is rustic but spacious and well equipped and the owner is extremely responsive!

Glad you enjoyed your stay! We invite you to return anytime, the cabin was left in immaculate condition!
Wonderful old Maine Camp that was just what we’d hoped for. The lakefront is amazing, just steps away from the porch. Nice shallow lakefront with amazing views. The location was perfect, beautiful sunsets. The interior is rustic but it was just what was described and just what we wanted.

It was the perfect place to get away. I didn't plan on doing day trips because I needed time to unwind and relax and that is exactly what I did. No hustle and bustle. Perfection.

This simple cabin is right on the lakefront. A dock leads out to the water, and a ladder makes getting in for a swim and boarding kayaks & paddle boards easy. The cabin is well laid out, the beds are comfy and everything was super clean. Bring your own coffee pot for morning coffee on the dock, as there is only a Kurig.

Had a terrific week at this wonderful, rustic cabin. Great layout for the four of us (note: the loft ladder is steep and can get stuffy, but it is cute and private; the kind bed in the master bedroom was super comfortable)! Was thrilled to have two kayaks (bring rope to tie up for getting in and out at the dock) and everything we needed for cooking and dining. We brought a French press and pour over as a keurig alternative and only thing we wished has been provided was a kettle for hot tea. Kerri was super responsive and we simply had a terrific week!

One thing to note is this host provides beach towels as well as bath towels and lots of homes don’t provide that. It’s such a convenience as those bulky items take up so much space in luggage.
Also, the home is outfitted with upscale furniture which adds more of a resort feel as opposed to a basic cabin experience (even the fridge is full size and allows for more options than the smaller efficiency style appliances in more basic cabins that I have stayed in).
The host was easy to communicate with and her response time for questions was quicker than expected.
Definitely recommend this gem!

I debated posting a good review for this place, not because it wasn't AMAZING but because I don't want everyone else to know about it!! This was a terrific place to stay. We stayed for two weeks for my partner's board review course in Waterville and this was the perfect place to stay! We had a blast fishing every night, catching northern Pike, small mouth bass, and bluegills. We swam and paddled on the kayaks. We listened to loons and enjoyed terrific sunsets. The cabin itself is cozy and had all the amenities we needed. The bed was comfy for rest and the shower has great water pressure for a cabin. Waterville was close for suppers and treats. We took a day and drove to Bar Harbor and Acadia NP for some hiking and it was an easy drive from here. A terrific place to stay and we would highly recommend!

We had a wonderful week at Rustic Pines. The camp size and layout was perfect for our family of 4 (two kids ages 6 & 3) and dog. The kitchen was nicely stocked with essentials, the living areas were laid out well, beds were comfortable. We really appreciated how many fans there were to keep fresh air moving through the camp! We liked that the camp was close to the water so we could keep an eye on our kids playing on the dock. The water at the dock was shallow, perfect for our kids to swim. The neighbors' yards were close by, but it still felt private because they weren't home often during the week. Our dog also doesn't wander or bark much but the proximity of neighbors could be a problem for more free-roaming or barky dogs. A few complaints: cobwebs and spiders, and woodchips. One giant spider ("Spidey") was a permanent fixture above the bathroom door -- she was too quick and I was too scared to remove her. I'm a hardy Mainer and very used to creepy crawlies in old Maine camps, but I recogize that's not everyone's cup of tea. Also the whole yard was covered in a thick blanket of wood chips, which clung to everything, got tracked into the house, and often caused splinters and ouchies for all of us. Despite these two drawbacks, I'm still giving our stay a 5-star rating -- our family had a really nice week and made incredible memories we will remember forever!

We appreciate your feedback about Rustic Pines Camp. We provide plenty of pictures so customers know exactly what they are renting. You mentioned in communication the near record temperatures Maine was experiencing and understand why you chose to relocate to a hotel. Thanks again!
