Open, airy and light filled cottage at the head of Crockett Cove’s tidal estuary. It is a very private and serene setting on 2.5 acres. Watch the tide change the landscape of the cove and plan your day on the water accordingly. You can launch the tandem kayak (included!) from the swimming hole to explore the cove or head out to deeper ocean and islands.

The cottage is light and airy- 15' ceilings and surrounding windows make it feel very open. New queen bed with luxury linens and down comforter. Smaller well-equipped galley kitchen has everything you need, including a dishwasher, lobster pot and multiple options for your morning coffee or tea. The deck looks across the neighboring meadow to the water and the swimming hole (6-8' at high tide) is visible on the side, just beyond the firepit and hammock.

A tandem kayak is included for your use (agreement to liability waiver required), which can be launched from the property.

I’ve been vacationing on Deer Isle for over 40 years and decided to make it our full-time home a few years ago. Now, my daughter and I get to enjoy so many of the same things I loved as a child— not much has changed!

We love exploring the rocky beaches, going on island picnics, visiting galleries, taste-testing at Nervous Nellie’s, riding the mail boat to Isle au Haut, and catching the end-of-session auctions at Haystack. And every year, there’s always something unexpected that pops up!

There's as much- or as little- to do in Maine as you want to.

Why they chose this property

There's nearby hiking in Crockett Woods or Barred Island Preserve, easy access to downtown Stonington and great kayaking and swimming just out the door.

What makes this property unique

I visited this property three summers ago on a rainy foggy day and knew instantly it was the place for us. The tide shapes your day- from when to take out a boat, swim or just explore in the mud. It's peaceful and private- you might see a few kayaks out on the cove at the height of summer, but many days you will have it entirely to yourself.
