This adorable cabin is where you can wake up to a beautiful view and the scent of the salty ocean breeze! Big, gorgeous windows afford a spectacular view! This 1BR 1BA cabin with a beautiful back deck, overlooks Taunton Bay. While you sit and enjoy your morning coffee, you can watch the local lobstermen as they work hauling their traps. Another great feature of this property is the easy access to Route One. You may experience some road noise but that definitely dies down after everyone gets home from work. Recently updated cabin!
CHECK OUT TIME IS 10 AM, please make sure you have left by this time. We will have cleaners coming to the location to clean after you. We hope you enjoy your stay!

My daughter and I wanted to visit Acadia National Park. We found this property which was close to the park, waterfront and just so cute and perfect for a weekend stay.
Great place to usevas base camp for exploring Maine and its beautiful parks

First Maine Stay
Was nice could yard area and surroundings around the house could have been better. Heads up on how close to route 1 cabin actually was. Did have a great view and the hostess was very accommodating to our needs.
As advertised on VRBO. Cute, older cottage, very simple and tastefully decorated. All appliances seemed brand new. We traveled around the area and into Bar Harbor and Acadia Nat’l Park, returning here in the evening away from the hustle & bustle!
The only thing that bothered us was the road close to the house. Other than that we enjoyed our stay

Overall Good experience
Positives: Close to places we wanted to explore. Beautiful view. Overall comfortable and relaxing.
Negatives: no grill brush, didn't have dishsoap, washer stunk so we were unable to do laundry, no can opener.
This property worked well as our base for our hiking in Acadia National Park. It had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. The one thing to consider is the bathroom. It is VERY small. I am 6’2” and 175 lbs and it was difficult to dry off after using the shower because it was pretty cramped.

TRUE Cottage
The property was quaint, but lacks in the kitchen. Dont go with the idea of cooking much. Also the directions to get there need more clarity. We drove around for quite some time, with no local contact number.
The property & location were as noted in the listing & were what we were looking for. The close road location affected sleep patterns & the bathroom was tight, although we're thin people. It would not have worked for anyone of size. As the previous renters mentioned, there were no bowls in the cabinets. Otherwise, it worked for us.
Check in was too difficult unable to find the keys. Nasty smell as soon as we open then door, no heater it’s too cold and too many flies in the room which not allowed us to sleep. We not even stayed one hour. We vacated within one hours. After complaining all this issues to host , host stopped responding and not answering calls
It’s my wife birthday and this spoiled our day. We drove all the way from NH 5 hours and with in one hour we went back to NH driving 5 hours .
Worst service not recommended at all.
And we paid around $650 just for one hour horrible stay

Cold and Noisy
The "cabin" is very close to a busy highway. Unfortunately the bedroom abuts the road and it sounded as if tractor trailers were coming through the room as we tried to sleep. The noise was magnified due to the drafty air conditioning unit still left in the window even though the outside temperature was in the 30's at night and 50’s during the day. The only heat came from an electric fireplace in the front room. The tiny bathroom had great water pressure but there was barely enough hot water for two short showers. The fire pit was a joke and not what was depicted in the photos. We felt the 45 minute drive to downtown Bar Harbor was too far.
The positives were that it was clean and well furnished for the size and the view of the water was absolutely beautiful. The kitchen area was cute and the living area was very comfortable as long as there were only two people.
The cabin itself was great, but small. The back deck looking over the water was a big plus. The noise of the traffic was a negative but bearable.
Although towels/linens were included there was only one hand towel and no wash clothes. The bathroom was very tight and could use a couple more hooks and some shelving. The kitchen was fine but no bowls with the dishes. There was a deep fryer but I think a toaster or toaster oven would be a better idea.
Maine and Acadia Park are beautiful and so worth the trip!
This was for an awesome little trip to Acadia :)
Pros:
- Clean and quaint waterfront cabin with all the amenities most people need. Beautiful outdoor space with a fire pit. One bed inside with room for an airbed if you're not sharing the main bed. Kitchen/fridge/microwave are a nice plus to save money on dining out.
- Close to convenience stores, restaurants, and a central location for the area. If you're here for Acadia, aside from going to the awesome but very populated Mount Desert Island, definitely head to the Schoodic Peninsula part of the park. This cabin was perfect for in between the two areas.
- Management is very nice, responds quickly, and is very accommodating. A lobsterman that helps out with the management dropped off some space heaters for the unexpected drop in temp one night, and we chatted for about 30 minutes! Very nice guy.
Neutral:
- For people that have stayed in cabins and cottages, this is a great place. People should not be expecting "the Ritz". It's a nice, individualistic, quaint cabin with the best reclining chairs haha.
- It's about 20 feet from the roadway, as disclosed, which makes it awesomely convenient to get going in the morning. But there is road noise. It does die down at night, but sensitive sleepers might still find it disruptive (especially the trucks). I'm from the city so it was no problem for me...to each their own!
Cons:
- The wifi was consistently an issue. For the first 48 hours of our stay, it bounced between moderate and slow. For the last 48 hours, it bounced between slow and nonexistent which affected the tv, phones, and computers. I ran a few speed tests and believe that extenders are needed. There was a storm one night, but given the distance between the unit and the router, and the amount of users, it can be hit or miss.
- Minor thing but we didn't realize there were multiple units and there are no numbers or signs with names designating them...so we tried to get in the wrong one at first haha. We resolved it in less than 10 minutes with management.
- Another minor thing but this place has everything you need except bowls. All other silverware, plates, cups, etc are there, but we went out to buy bowls.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and the trip!
