DETAILED UNIT DESCRIPTION AND INCLUSIONS
Aloberge 8 is the last of the eight units in the Refuge (the one closest to the Richelieu). It is a “ready-to-camp with electricity (30 amps) ” category and dogs are welcome .
The floating platform measures 12 x 26 feet and is permanently attached to the dock
The cabin is 10' x 12' in size and includes:
-Two single benches with slatted bases, one of which can be extended into a double bed (capacity to sleep 3, but accommodation is ideal for 2)
-The following kitchen equipment: compact refrigerator with freezer compartment, microwave, toaster, kettle, filter coffee maker and Keurig coffee maker with reusable k-cup, blender, basic tableware for 3 people, cast iron skillet and/or wok for the barbecue, dishwashing kit, dog bowl, side table (long folding bench)
-A vending machine of water with 3 gallons of well water. (Running water is available on the dock and at the harbor master's office)
-Small air conditioning and small heater/fan (TWO HEATERS AVAILABLE AT THE BEGINNING AND END OF THE SEASON)
-Towels for 3 people and bathroom amenities (hair dryer, first aid kit, small sample of EcoTrail shampoo/shower gel)
- Bedding for 3 people (pillows, single and double sheet set). BLANKETS NOT INCLUDED.
-Storage spaces (bench drawers, small shelves)
-Windows on 4 sides (anti-UV polymer films)
The large front terrace, measuring 12' x 10', includes : -2 zero gravity lounge chairs -A table with extension and 2 chairs -An electric mosquito repellent device
The rear balcony includes : - Outdoor barbecue with integrated cooking ring, barbecue utensils, barbecue plate or mat ( propane gas optional ) - Storage bench with leisure items (ball, boules, badminton rackets, frisbee)
On site, the following infrastructure is included/free :

- Space to bring a small boat , if it fits next to the accommodation (the available space measures 8 feet by 15 feet)
-Inflatable mattresses in high season
-Two unisex bathrooms with showers, available less than a minute's walk away, at the site's harbor master's office
-Parking
-Wifi better at the harbor master's office, but can be satisfactory at the accommodation (72 Mbit/sec)
-Access to the Refuge grounds and its other facilities: outdoor fireplace, fishing dock, volleyball court, small trail, picnic areas, hammock, briquette barbecues.
AVAILABLE AS AN OPTION
-Rental of 20 lbs propane gas cylinders for the barbecue located on the accommodation's terrace ($10/day + taxes)
-Daily self-service access to all eight (8) Aloberge paddle boats available on site before Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day and after Labor Day: two tandem pedal kayaks, one standard double kayak, one single kayak, two paddleboards, one pedal boat and one canoe. Adult life jackets included. $49 per day of access (*See conditions of use at the bottom of the page).PLEASE NOTE that between Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day and Labor Day, the municipality plans to rent its own paddle boats on site during good weather.
- Places for a sailboat tour with towed buoy and participation in maneuvers ($99/person + taxes, 2 people minimum)
TO BRING :
- Your NB covers : As the accommodation is not fully insulated/soundproofed, and the heating is supplementary (small heaters), it is strongly recommended to bring very warm blankets in low season.
-Briquettes if you prefer to use the barbecues on site
-Water shoes for swimming in the Richelieu at the end of the point (rocky jetty)
-Drinking water (if more than 3 gallons are needed or if you don't like well water)
-Mosquito repellent lotion
- Life jacket for children under 12 years old, mandatory on docks and in small boats
-Wood for the outdoor fireplace
-Your equipment for the many possible activities in the region (paddle sports, cycling, fishing, bird watching)
