Great stay! It was very close to downtown Winter park. They had everything we needed already stocked and they were super responsive when we needed help. House was big and our whole group fit nicely there.
We needed a place capable of hosting 16 people. With such easy access to public transportation, it made it very easy for everyone to get up and down to the slopes. Great communication by the host.
I've been renting from Brittany and Will for a very long time. Their properties are the only ones I choose from when I'm in the Winter Park area. They are by far the easiest to communicate with of any property owners that I have rented from. As well, all of their homes are easily the best bang for your buck for a large group. There are not many homes that can accommodate large groups where everyone has their own bedroom and bathroom. This trip was seamless for my party of 10.
Host was uncommunicative, property was not clean, sheets were dirty and some didn't fit the bed, amenities were broken. Not worth the priceWe tried using the app, texting, and calling. It always took multiple tries to get an answer, if they responded at all. We finally stopped trying. We were not able to get into the property at check out time, as the "cleaning" crew were still there. We finally got in an hour and half later, but the maintenance man was there until 8:20 pm working on the bathtub and sewer. The smell of sewer gas was overpowering, but he did manage to get the plumbing working. He was very nice and hard-working. It broke again later. The sheets were not changed, and people found food and trash in their beds. The kitchen was semi-clean, so long as you didn't look behind anything. The refrigerator smelled absolutely awful, and we discovered an open can of moldy sardines that expired in 2020. It was appalling. The kitchen is not well equipped. There is a Nespresso to make one cup of coffee, but no coffee pot. In a home designed for this many people you should have a real coffee pot. There were two skillets and one saucepan. That's it. There is no baking sheet. If you plan on doing your own cooking, you should bring your own pots and pans. The Arcade game advertised was broken, as was the movie projector. The pool table was nice. The hot tub is nice and hot, and keeps its temperature even in the cold, but there are no steps, just a lawn chair. Not safe.
The house is 20 feet away from the bus stop that takes you straight to the mountain, can't beat that. Walking distance to all the restaurants/shops in town. The common area had a nice TV and couches, and the hot tub was great. The house was very clean. The main disappointment we had was that the listing said there was one bedroom with twin bunk beds, when there were actually two bedrooms with twin bunk beds. It was a bit of a damper since we were traveling as adult couples. The kitchen had a couple issues like the range hood fan and one of the disposals not working, but we were able to cook and grill for a group of 14. Double fridges, double sinks, and double dishwashers were handy. The check-in instructions weren't provided until I contacted the owner, but once I got in contact with the owner they were very responsive. We lost hot water one day, and the owner fixed the boiler within a few hours. Overall, we had a fun time there, and it's about what you would expect for a lived-in ski house.
