Perfect house on a quite street on Balboa Island

The house was perfect in every way, exceeding all expectations. It was clean, updated, great outdoor space on all levels, and came with anything one could need. Hosts were great, you can tell they take a lot of care and pride into making the house a “home” and creating an exceptional quality experience for their guests.

We stayed at this property for the entire month of August, 2026. The property is beautifully appointed and decorated. The owners clearly spent a great deal of time and thought in the design. The kitchen in particular was completely equipped with every feature and appliance that a cook would need, and a huge assortment of dishware and glasses. Unlike many short-term rental properties, the owners provided all consumable products ready to use on day one -they only ask that you replace what you use, like all rentals. The home also had cruiser bikes and beach equipment for the renters' use. Once we got through the initial VRBO booking process, the owners contacted us immediately to make sure that the process had worked smoothly. There were some hitches with VRBO, but the owners took the initiative to resolve those for us. They remained very communicative throughout our stay and were easily reachable by phone, text, and email. They were genuinely interested in making sure we had a nice visit in their home. The home is located near the middle of Balboa Island, so both the commercial Marine Avenue shopping/dining district and the ferry to the peninsula are only minutes away on foot.This summer was particularly warm in Southern California, so we really appreciated that this newer home had central air conditioning,We would not hesitate to rent this home again and would recommend it to discriminating travelers who are looking for a relaxing location designed for adults.
