The house is beautifully renovated with central air, a nice enclosed front porch and a nice patio in back. The outdoor shower is handy for washing off beach sand. Location is great, a short walk (5 min) to Old Colony Beach. Owners were very quick to resond to any questions.

Absolutely delightful. Location in private Old Colony Beach was prefect for sunny beach days. Location close to other Connecticut shore attractions such as Essex, Old Saybrook and Mystic were super convenient. Check in was a breeze, house was very clean and well kept and was the perfect space for our family of three (two adults one child age 5). The washer dryer in unit and the outdoor shower were huge pluses. Coffee on the porch in the morning listening to the waves crash just down the street was magical.

I strongly recommend not renting this property. I am extremely disappointed with both the property owners and this site after our experience.After putting our own sheets on the bunk beds, my husband and I immediately began experiencing very itchy skin, particularly on our arms. When we inspected the underside of the mattresses, we noticed tiny, shiny strands protruding from the mattress covers that appeared to be fiberglass.We immediately showered ourselves and both of our children to remove any possible exposure and left the property. We notified the owner and this site right away and explained what had happened.Despite the potential health and safety concern, we were only offered a 50% refund for the week.My husband and I work hard to be able to take a week away with our children, and their health and safety will always come first. I would never knowingly keep my family in an environment that could pose a health hazard.Unfortunately, this experience has completely changed my confidence in this site. I would strongly encourage others to think twice before booking this property, and based on how this situation was handled, I personally will not be using this site again.

Thank you for your feedback. However, the very next day we inspected the mattresses (which were only 4 years old) carefully and found no fiberglass coming out of the mattress The mattress cover totally encapsulated the mattress and had plastic bumps on the material which you apparently thought was fiberglass. No one has ever indicated any reaction to these mattresses, including my grandson who has slept in the room several times and is allergic to many things. By the time you had checked in and left there was not enough time to find another party to rent the house during this key season week of the summer but we did give a 50% refund which we thought and you agreed per vrbo was fair.
