Perfect getaway!

We loved it! The atmosphere and decor were calming and relaxing. The host was responsive and thoughtful. We came up for a fishing charter, and this was the perfect place to stay! I would totally stay here next time!

Perfect getaway

We found a great rate and booked a weekend getaway down from Anchorage. Communication was clear, the cabin was very clean and comfortable. The aesthetic was exactly what we were looking for: inviting enough to enjoy our time in the cabin, but it was close enough to town to enjoy all it has to offer. Definitely will stay again.

Anniversary/engagement

Me and my fiancé have had a great time staying here. We definitely loved that it was pet friendly as well. And that it was close to town and not a long drive to the spit. Hopefully we can come back again!!!

My husband and I stayed over Thanksgiving with our pup. Lovely accommodations. We enjoyed using the Nordic Spa facility! Everything and anything you could need is right there or down in town just minutes away. We will be back!

Father's Day Getaway

To celebrate Father's Day, we went to Homer to fish. We stayed at one of Soniyae's rentals for our getaway. It was perfect! Great views, and we felt right at home. Soniyae was quick to respond if we had any questions. Thank you Soniyae for making us feel at home.

Scandinavian flare

W épices staying at this cabin- not exactly a chain because you have access to electricity and water and all the amenities you’d need. We loved the cozy yet clean neat and modern space. It allowed us to spend all day our in Homer and enjoy getting back to the house for dinner, shower and a good night sleep. We were so happy to be able to bring our well behaved golden retriever with us as its so rare to have a host allowing dogs. Great stay! We hope we can Come back this winter for the besh cup in January!

Several years ago while working at a remote bear viewing lodge, we dreamt of someday building our own small lodge. We wanted to share how much we love Alaska, the beauty, and the opportunity it has brought us. We envisioned building a unique space that would help bring people closer together, relax when weather turns, and inspire. Soniyae drew our vision on a piece of cardboard and taped it to our “dream board”.

With our goal in mind we got to work…

With almost no building knowledge (Brian built a ferret enclosure once…) and a very humble amount saved, we scraped together enough to buy property in 2017. A piece of land full of beautiful trees, views, and potential.

To keep expenses low while building our first house we lived in a tent for 6 months. We had to move camp in October because our drinking water was constantly freezing and the final straw was a bear shredding our tent…

Oh the memories!

Fast forward 5 years through a whirlwind of hard work, triumphant moments, and some dark times - unsure if we would make it... I’m happy to report we no longer live in a tent!

We have created a modern retreat that we are truly proud of and are so excited to share with you. We hope you’ll visit, rest, and leave inspired!
