Spent the weekend to attend the Urbana Oyster Festival. This home was very spacious and exceptionally clean and maintained. We throughly enjoyed our stay.
Very open, spacious, lots of light. Very nice furnishings. Very nice house for family to gather. Beautiful view of the creek and enjoyed sitting on the dock.
My kids decided we needed to do something special for my 70th birthday. Something nearby and where everyone could stay. When this home turned up in my search, I knew it was the place! Room for all, nearby on the water with a dock.. It was perfect! We had such a great time! We plan to return!
What a perfect house for our family to come together! There was plenty of room for ourselves, our sons, and their families. The toddler cousins enjoyed the open space upstairs to run around and play together. The older teenager kept busy playing ping pong, fishing, and kayaking. The only drawback was the drive to find a playground for the toddlers, but I highly recommend the splash pad in the Kilmarnock Town Park! I also recommend Haven Beach. A bit secluded, but quiet and just lovely.
The beds were all very comfortable, and the kitchen is well equipped. The couch out back on the covered patio was a favorite relaxing spot. The only issues we had were with the housekeeping prior to our arrival, and our hostess quickly addressed those concerns.
There were 8 of us, long-time friends from college. There are plenty of beds, but I would say the sleeping arrangements are not ideal for this many adults. 2 of the BRs (no windows) can sleep six each, so probably better suited for families w/children. But all of the beds were very comfortable. There is only one bathroom in the lower level, which is where almost all of the beds are.The kitchen was very functional w/plenty of plates/bowls/glasses etc. We found only salt & pepper, so best to bring your own spices in cooking in. There are 2 living rooms with very comfortable seating, plus an office. These spaces do not face the water. The areas that face the water (converted rear porch, I think) have limited seating, and very hard chairs. We enjoyed sitting off of the lower level. I would say be sure to bring bug spray. The long pier was lovely! There are 2 adult sit-in kayaks, and and several smaller sit-on ones, plus 2 nice paddleboards.

Trouble with Property Manager but House was lovely
The home was lovely and suited our needs well. We were in the area to attend a funeral and the home was well equipped for four adult siblings and their spouses. The trouble was with entry. We told the property manager we would be arriving late. The code she gave us didn't work so we called and texted several times (starting around 10 pm) but she never responded. We also tried the homeowner and were not able to reach him. Finally, we tried VRBO and that was a huge waste of time. We ended up booking a hotel room that night. It was all very frustrating after having spent 12 hours on the road. The homeowner did reimburse us the cost of the hotel room for one night which we appreciated. I just think there should be protocol in place for reaching the property manager during off hours or in the case of an emergency to avoid situations like this. we wou
