D35 Kona Reef - True Oceanfront & Top Floor! AC throughout!

Located just outside the heart of Kailua- Kona, this ocean front condo is your ticket to paradise! Just minutes from town, a short walk will take you to some of the finest dining and shopping destinations on the Big Island. Our modern, updated condo serves as the perfect home away from home, allowing our guests to enjoy everything the Big Island has to offer.

After a full day of snorkeling, beach combing, hiking, volcano exploring or just relaxing in the sun, return home to kick back and relax on the private lanai with a full ocean front view. Watch sea turtles swim in the tide pools below or see humpback whales and dolphins frolic in the ocean as the sun dips into the sea, creating breathtaking sunsets.

The unit is air conditioned throughout, with separate zone controls for the living room and bedroom. With a lanai that directly overlooks the ocean, you need not be concerned about noise from the pool and cabana area. The only sound you’ll hear is the waves as they crash against the expansive reef. Our top floor location also ensures the utmost privacy and security for the lanai area.

We have taken care to provide a variety of recreational items for your use and enjoyment including:

Sand pail & tools
Backpack cooler
Binoculars
Free WiFi

Need a break from your vacation? The complex is adjacent to Honl's beach and our unit comes with a fully equipped kitchen, access to popular streaming services, with BBQ grills, a pool and hot tub on site. A washer and dryer is provided for your convenience.

Our condo is ideal for a romantic getaway for two, though the sleeper sofa will allow up to four guests. The bathroom has a walk-in shower with no bathtub, so the unit may not be suitable for families with very young children that require a tub for bathing.

There is an elevator on site, but a set of stairs must be navigated to reach units on the top floor, so it may not be suitable for guests with accessibility concerns. No smoking and no pets allowed.

***The Kona Reef has notified owners that there is going to be a Structure and Resurfacing project to repair areas of compromised spalling, water damage and corrosion due to continuous exposure to water and sea air from January 2026 to April 2027. I have blocked our unit from rentals during the actual period D building is scheduled to be worked on. The pool/cabana area will not be affected, aside from noise. If you choose to book during this timeframe, be aware that there may be extraneous noise from construction in the complex.***

The view was amazing, the condo was fully loaded, it was great having a washer and dryer and the bed was so comfortable. My only suggestion is to put a beach recliner on the balcony so people can doze off while enjoying the outstanding view! Thanks so much!!

Just perfect! The space was quiet, clean, and very well appointed with a fully stocked kitchen and beach gear. The bed was so comfortable! We loved sitting on the lanai to watch the sunset and listen to the sounds of waves crashing below. The pool area was never crowded and the grills in the common area were spotless. Parking was easy and the location was convenient.The only issue we had was a problem with a faulty kitchen appliance and it was resolved in less than 24 hours. We were very impressed with the level of responsiveness. The communication ahead of our visit was great too, absolutely no complaints. Highly recommend this location for your next visit to the Kona area!

Breathtaking views

We’ve had the pleasure of staying in this condo twice and absolutely loved it both times! The view is simply breathtaking, and there’s nothing better than relaxing on the lanai while watching the stunning sunsets. The condo is comfortable, well-maintained, and fully stocked with everything we need. We can’t wait to come back again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kona Reef. This unit is oceanfront and it can't get better than that. The bed was very comfortable, the unit had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The 2 split AC units were the beat as it would have been too warm for us without it. The unit was in walking distance of local restaurants and shops. The communication was almost immediate, when needed with the owner. We have stayed in many VRBO units and this unit "ticks" all our boxes. We will definitely return here and hopefully soon. Thank you for your hospitality!

We loved the ability to walk into the main shopping area of Kailua-Kona. At the same time we had fantastic ocean views. You just can’t beat coffee and breakfast on the lanai in the morning.

THE VIEW

Our stay was amazing.. the unit is very well stocked, we used the pool side grills, parking was easy, short walk to great restaurants. But the icing on the cake was sitting on the lanai morning & evening watching & listening to the waves crash! I stress over booking places to stay.... would definitely book this again!

My husband and I stayed in the condo for four nights during the second leg of our trip to the big island. It was a great size for the two of us and having the balcony was fantastic for morning coffee and evening views as well. Great location that is walkable to town without all the noise and traffic of town!
