The house was lovely and walking distance to the Strand. Communication was great too. If you are a light sleeper, the road noise in the early morning may bother you, but the house outweighed that. Thanks!

Historical Galveston Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at Aloha Little Lafitte. The home was beautiful, clean, and well stocked with everything we needed. Our host, Maggie, was easy to communicate with via VRBO with any questions we had. Location was perfect for walking to the Strand. Overall it was a fabulous weekend and we would love to stay in this beautiful Victorian again soon.

Mardi Gras trip

This was a great house for a group with kids. We booked for Mardi Gras with 2, 2 year olds and a baby. The downstairs area with huge laundry was a great area for kids to play. Short walk to The Strand for Mardi Gras. It’s a lovely house..

Beautiful Historic Home

The birthday girl is a history buff and wanted to immerse herself in the history of one of her favorite cities. We couldn't have picked a more perfect spot to stay! This historic Victorian house has all the right upgrades plus all the right vintage feels. The baths and kitchen are beautifully upgraded, the beds are comfy, there are so many choices of cozy nooks to sip a cup of tea (or margarita) while visiting or reading. Close to all the shops and restaurants. We loved it!

In Town for a Wedding

This house is fantastic! The beds were so comfortable. Enjoyed having two sitting areas. It helped being able to have our own space while two of us were working remotely…(and another got to nap). We had a morning bike ride with the bikes stored in the basement. The basement was also great area to sit back and relax. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need.

Winter Wedding

The home was very well appointed and the location was great. No downside at all - make sure to go to the basement it is great (although we didn't go down until right before leaving - our mistake). The only downside, which the owner has accommodated as well as possible, is the lack of hanging space in old Victorian homes.. so plan accordingly

Beautifully appointed historical home

Located in a lovely neighbourhood. House was beautifully kept up inside and out. Bedrooms , bathrooms , kitchen and living spaces were interesting and nicely decorated. They provided a basket of snacks and had a coffee/tea machine which we enjoyed. Chilling on the front porch with our friends was very relaxing. This house has survived two major hurricanes - some interesting photo books were left out for us to look at and marvel. Enquiries sent through texts were handled promptly and efficiently in a polite manner which we appreciated. Our friends and my husband and I absolutely loved our two night stay here and would recommend it for sure! We look forward to staying here again in the future for a longer period of time. Short drive to cruise ship terminal made this a very convenient location.

Authentic Charm in the Perfect Location

Our stay at this stunning Victorian home in Galveston’s historic Strand District was nothing short of perfect! Built in 1895 and beautifully restored, the house has an enchanting Hemingway-inspired decor that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into another era. The original stained glass windows are simply breathtaking, and there is authentic charm in every room. Four of us planned a weekend in Galveston. We are women over 55 who love to go to the beach, shop and spend time together. The three spacious bedrooms were cozy and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We felt right at home cooking fresh fish from Katie’s Seafood Market in the well-equipped kitchen, which had everything we needed. Mornings were made extra special as we enjoyed coffee on the large front porch, soaking in Galveston. Evenings were so much fun, spent chatting and laughing in the comfortable upstairs den. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk to both the Seawall and the vibrant Strand, so we were never far from fun. Whether you’re planning a girls’ weekend, a family getaway, or even a business trip, this home fits the bill. There’s even a small desk upstairs for work, and the basement is a fun bonus with a foosball table and bikes to borrow. While the house is a dream, be aware that the stairs could be a challenge for older guests or families with very young children. But for us, this place was absolute perfection! We can’t wait to come back!

Great Historic Home

We would definitely return as the location worked well for us. It was within easy walking distance to the strand, right up the road from the Dirty Iguana. Don't expect great views but a decent neighborhood. Our biggest issue occurred on night one. When we arrived about 5 pm, the fire alarm in the upstairs bedroom went off. I contacted the host through VRBO. They returned contact by the time it stopped on its own. We agreed that as long as it didn't go off again, it could wait until the next morning. It went off again, at 130 in the morning. I sent a message. No response. I eventually called the VRBO help line and they tried to contact the host with no response. At 4 a.m., my husband took the shovel he had dound and knocked it off the wall. (We tried to get to it in other ways but it was way up on the historic walls and we did not have a ladder.) The next day, their handyman shows up and tells us it has to be replaced as it expired in 2020. We get thay things happen but... 1. If you have been informed earlier thay something is going on, take care of it then or be available in the middle of the night. 2. The purpose of using a VRBO is to ensure a good night's sleep. We did not have a good night's sleep. And 3. If something occurs and you can't take care of it in a reasonable ammount of time offer something to compensate for the problems. (They offered us an extra night at a 15% discount. We did not want to pay for an extra night nor did we have the time.)
