About this property
UofA Tiny House + Fire Pit
Tiny house with loft bed, kitchenette, parking in a quiet downtown neighborhood
Please read the entire description before booking.
This is a very tiny house. It was built before we bought the property, and we made the most out of the space that we could, but, of course, we were unable to make the house any larger. Some parts of the ceiling are barely 6'3" high.
It is a great place to crash if you're out and about all day and need a cozy place to lay your head and maybe cook simple meals. Complete with a full bathroom, efficient kitchenette, and loft bed. This tiny house is attached to the guest house, Casita C, and has a shared courtyard. It is great for a single person, young couples, or older kids. This bunkhouse is close to downtown and the U of A campus.
It has a kitchenette with a hot plate, toaster oven, microwave, coffee pot, and a small but decent-sized refrigerator. It has dishes, pots, pans, and a teapot.
The bed is in a loft and is accessible by a ladder. The loft has only a crawl space, and you cannot stand up in it. Please do not book this house if you are very tall, claustrophobic, or uncomfortable climbing a ladder.
KEY FEATURES: * Loft bed (full-size bed) * 1 full bathroom (shower only) * Nicely equipped kitchenette * Extra coffee supplies for coffee lovers * Extra towels * Large, fully enclosed, shared courtyard * Fire pit and cozy chairs * BBQ on the patio is for anyone to use * Easy parking on the street or beside the garage * Smart locks for easy entry * Close to the UofA, downtown, restaurants, and bars * Historic and coveted Sam Hughes neighborhood

About the host
Hosted by Diane Macias
We are just two people who love to travel and drink coffee. I bake, practice Kung Fu, eat good food, and relax with friends. I love a good renovation and working on this property has been so much fun.
My parents grew up in Tucson and my family and I were tired of renting houses for holidays and special events. We decided to buy a property so we could have a home base in Tucson. This house is minutes from several family members and is so close to downtown. When we saw that it was in the coveted Sam Hughes neighborhood we jumped on it. What a great neighborhood!
I am not in the area but can be reached by replying to messages or, in the case of an emergency, my phone number is in the digital guide book that will be emailed to you before check in. We hope you are comfortable in our home.
Why they chose this property
I love everything about this property. We knew it would take some time to fully restore it but we have had a great time working on it. There are three houses and a bunkhouse on the property. They have separate entrances and a shared courtyard.
The Bunkhouse (Casita D) is a super tiny house with a full size bed in a loft. We had to get creative with the space available but we made the best of it.
The front house is the original structure on the property and is so beautiful with its built-in shelves, original fireplace, and crown moldings. The casitas are newer but still have so much charm. Old houses have so much soul.
We are currently working on the large courtyard. We have added much needed plants and landscaping. There are several sitting areas, a fire pit and BBQ. You may see new additions soon!
What makes this property unique
This property was built in 1938 and was in disrepair when we bought it. We have made vast improvements to the structures. The houses were our first priority and we are now working on the landscaping. It shares a large courtyard with the other casitas on the property and has several sitting areas and a firepit for guests to relax. This house is in the perfect spot to walk to restaurants, bars and coffee shops.
